Cvent for Event Management and Attendee Experience
Overall, our company and attendees have adopted Cvent and find it easy to register, set schedules, and utilize the app. We highly recommend Cvent when checking out the event management software in the market. Cvent has so many features to make your events stand out, and make your life easier when planning, executing, and marketing your events.
Pros
Cvent makes it very easy to set up and deploy registration websites, manage hotel bookings, flights, and overall user experience. We have been using Cvent for over 5 years and there are always new developments and upgrades being added. There's a huge community of users who also help each other and submit request for new ideas. Cvent is always listening to us and adding new features that enhance our events.
Cons
In the beginning it was a little tricky setting up events. After using it for a few events though, it is now much easier to set up.
Reasons for Switching to Cvent Event Management
Ease of use is a big consideration for our marketing team. We also want features and easy registration processes.Response from Cvent

Great Customer Support
My overall experience with CVENT is pretty good. We use this platform regularly as we conduct many events in a year. I do not feel like it is very user friendly but it does have capabilities that other platforms do not have which is vital to the way we gather data during the registration process.
Pros
CVENT has a lot of capabilities that other platforms do not such as the ability to link questions, have sub questions and do conditional settings. The customer support is great and has always been able to find a solution to my issues.
Cons
There are often many areas you have to modify for a single final action. For example, for an event to be live, you have to have the event live, the registration active AND the admission types active. Some of the design features are very limited and modifying things like images can be very challenging. We often have repeat business and are finding that when we copy an event, there are a lot of hidden settings that get copied over and can make the new copy a bit messy.
Reasons for Switching to Cvent Event Management
We also have the On Arrival badging system that works really well.- Industry: Nonprofit Organisation Management

Complicated System with Missing Functionality
Overall, I have been very disappointed in the service. Not easy to learn and Cvent should not have released a new version with very basic and essential capabilities missing.
Pros
Cvent is nice in that it has thought of many of the different scenarios planners need to communicate, offer registration for and track for each event. The integrated credit card processing makes handling the financial aspect of meetings much easier.
Cons
This software is extremely difficult to learn and use. Cvent is also switching from a legacy system to a new one. If you use the legacy system, not only are you wasting your time learning a system that will be eliminated, but your events will disappear after the change as they can't be transferred. Yet the new system is missing very essential functionality making its use very limited. None of this was clearly communicated during the sales process. The app feature is very overpriced and extremely limited in its capabilities. Also, the system is not a full life-cycle system. There are no features to help centralize the actual planning of the event - it does have RFP and budgeting features, as well as registration, but completely ignores room set, a/v programming, etc. Doesn't eliminate having other documents and spreadsheets outside of the system for organizing events. So, I would not consider it an "event management" system.

Excellent Events Management Platform
We have been using Cvent Event Management for over a decade. Throughout that time, I've shopped competitors to see if we need to go elsewhere. Time after time, Cvent has been the only platform who could meet our needs at a competitive price. Well, not just at a competitive price, but AT ALL. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Support is super-quick and our account rep and client success manager have always been very knowledgeable and on top of things. I really don't see us ever leaving them for a different events platform at any point in the future.
Pros
It's got a TON of flexibility that will fit just about every use case. The pricing is really good compared to a lot of other platforms.
Cons
Sometimes you have to do workarounds for things that should just be normal features, such as adding images to the session descriptions.
Reasons for Switching to Cvent Event Management
The value for the price was really outstanding. The features that we use would have cost much much more with some of the other platforms or were just completely unavailable.- Industry: Construction

A Game-Changer for Our Workflow
I am not new to Cvent but have not used it since pre-pandemic. It is an overall exceptional tool for managing our meetings. The Cvent team has done a great job adding features that are user friendly and save time.
Pros
Property search capability. Makes life so much better!
Cons
Reporting templates. Need a more descriptive naming to know which report to pick.
