Pakera is a browser-based B2B platform for digital packaging planning and CAD-based optimization of industrial packaging concepts. Manufacturing companies can virtually simulate and compare packaging solutions before the first physical packing trial and evaluate them in terms of feasibility, cost-effectiveness, logistics, sustainability, and compliance. Digital packing trials provide a data-driven basis for decision-making and identify opportunities to improve the utilization of load carriers and reduce material, packaging, and transportation costs.

3 specialized packing modes for different tasks:
Smart Fill uses part geometry (CAD data) to determine how many parts will fit into a selected container under defined conditions.
Smart Select searches for optimal packaging solutions for a given quantity, taking into account part geometry (CAD data) and framework parameters.
Smart Stack optimizes the arrangement of cartons and containers on pallets or in larger loading units - without CAD data.

Six packing methods are available:
bulk, fixed layers, flexible layers, compartments, stacking, and pairs

The simulation takes into account, among other factors, part orientation, stability, spacing, weights, load capacities, and interlayers.

A library with over 180 standardized packaging designs and load carriers simplifies the selection process. Users can also create their own containers and load carriers.

Pakera visualizes packaging concepts in the integrated 3D viewer and provides transparency on key metrics such as packing quantity, empty space, volume and weight utilization, and material requirements. The Pakera Score® and 8 automated Smart Checks support the evaluation of efficiency, handling, logistical risks, feasibility, and sustainability.

Optionally, Pakera supplements the simulation with packaging and freight cost calculations, route planning, CO₂e assessment, packing instruction generation, and technical PPWR documentation (EU 2025/40). During the approval process, internal and external stakeholders can comment on, evaluate, and approve solutions. Decisions are documented in a traceable manner.

Pakera is specifically designed for OEMs, automotive suppliers, and other manufacturing companies. Typical users work in packaging development, logistics, work planning, production planning, procurement, supply chain management, and quality management. The application is also suitable for shipping carton optimization, palletizing, 3D bin packing, and container loading.

Pakera runs entirely in the browser, without the need for local installation or complex maintenance. No CAD or simulation knowledge is required. For CAD-based simulations, 3D files such as STEP, OBJ, or STL are sufficient. Video tutorials and customized training sessions make it easy to get started.
