# Steward IT Census

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/776190/Steward-IT-Census

> Steward IT Census is IT asset management and network inventory software that you install on your own Windows or Linux server. It is not a cloud service, so asset data, credentials and recovery keys stay inside your network. It suits IT teams, MSPs, schools and nonprofits that want one tool instead of several.

Census discovers devices with agentless scans over WinRM, SSH and SNMP, plus an optional agent for laptops and remote sites, and records hardware, software, users, warranty and security status. On top of the inventory it adds vulnerability management with one-click fixes, patch management for Windows, applications and Linux, about 470 compliance checks based on DISA STIGs, Microsoft baselines and NIST mSCP, software deployment, a network map, BitLocker recovery keys, Microsoft 365 license tracking, more than 100 reports and a built-in help desk.

Pricing is a one-time perpetual license: free for up to 100 assets with every feature, then $1 per asset with a 500-asset minimum. The first year of updates is included; after that, updates are optional at $50 per year.
