# DutyOS

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/774692/DutyOS

> DutyOS helps UK waste businesses keep the records the law asks of them. Since 1 October 2026, permitted sites in England and Wales have had to report every load of waste they receive to DEFRA within two working days. In DutyOS the gate or weighbridge team logs the load by weight or by container volume, picks the waste code from DEFRA's full catalogue of 842 codes, and DutyOS checks the record against DEFRA's rules before it is sent. Each load shows how long is left before its deadline.

Registered waste carriers, brokers and dealers use DutyOS for their duty of care paperwork: waste transfer notes with every statutory field, signed on screen, locked once filed and kept where they can be produced when an officer asks.

DutyOS is on GOV.UK's list of software providers for the Report receipt of waste service, records are stored in London, and DutyOS Ltd holds a Cyber Essentials certificate. Plans for receiving sites start at £19.99 + VAT a month, with 7 days free.
