# Cloud Shared Responsibility Mapper

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/773155/Cloud-Shared-Responsibility-Mapper

> Cloud Shared Responsibility Mapper is for the IT director, head of cloud or security lead who has to show an assessor which cloud controls the organisation owns. Every provider publishes its side of the shared responsibility model, and every assessor asks for yours. Most estates keep a spreadsheet of services with no column for control ownership, so the control the model leaves to you, and nobody on your side runs, surfaces during the assessment.

How it works. First, paste the service list, one service per line, with the name alone or with provider, service model, data classification, CUI, accountable owner, control owners per area, MSP and notes. A first line can set your frameworks, CMMC level and date. Account IDs, resource names, IP addresses, hostnames and access keys are removed in your browser. Second, each service is placed on one of 48 published service categories and given the split for its service model across 14 control areas. Third, read the responsibility plan and eleven findings, each citing ISO/IEC 27017, ISO/IEC 27018, the Cloud Controls Matrix or the assessed framework (SOC 2, CMMC, C5, ISO/IEC 27001, FedRAMP Moderate), with a question for the platform owner.

What you get: a customer responsibility matrix with control, service, responsibility, owner and clause; an assessor pack with one page per finding; a register CSV; and a one-page board summary.

What it does not do. It never connects to a cloud account and never reproduces a provider's own matrix. Every split is a model-level baseline, so verify it with the provider's own responsibility documentation and your agreement first.

How it compares. A consultant's workshop produces the same matrix over weeks. This draws the baseline in minutes from the list you already keep, so the workshop, if you still need one, starts from named gaps.

Data handling: the list is read in your browser and nothing is stored until you save.

You can try it without an account on up to eight services at a time, and the specimen always runs in full. The Solo plan costs USD 29 a month for one person: every service read with no cap, the customer responsibility matrix, the assessor pack, the register CSV and board summary, and one saved map. The Team plan, at USD 99 a month, is for everyone in the organisation: teammates with roles, more saved maps, and a change log on re-upload showing every service added, removed, remodelled or re-owned.
