# Batch Register

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/773152/Batch-Register

> Batch Register is for IT operations and platform engineers, and the operations leads above them, who own scheduled jobs and reports that feed regulated processes: log reviews, backups, access review exports, vulnerability scans, breach report packs and customer feeds.

The problem: a control list says what should exist. A scheduler export says what actually runs and how often, and the two are different objects. When an auditor asks how often evidence is produced, the honest answer lives in the schedule, and nobody has read that schedule against the clause. Batch Register does that, job by job.

How it works:
1. Paste one job per line: Job | Schedule | Source | Consumer | Owner | Fallback, or just the job and schedule, or the name alone. A scheduler CSV export pastes as it is, and cron expressions are read in any column.
2. Tick the rules that apply: the HIPAA Security Rule, NIST SP 800-53, ISO 22301, APRA CPS 234, GDPR, NIS2, DORA, PCI DSS, and ISO/IEC 27001 with the 27002 guidance.
3. Each job is matched to a published dictionary of 47 consumer classes in ten families. A job that matches nothing is marked unrecognised, never guessed.
4. You get the period in hours and words, the shortest clock the ticked rules put on that consumer with the clause that states it, and the gap between the two. Where a text says periodically, regularly or at a defined frequency, the row says so and carries no hours.

What you take away: eleven findings in a fixed order (unrecognised job, slower than its clock, on-demand where the clock is fixed, no owner, no fallback, backup with no restore test, log review outside the daily read, breach pack with no drill, duplicate, concentration, scan slower than quarterly), one question per job for its owner, and on paid plans a clock matrix, owner list, gap sheet and one-page board summary.

What it does not do: it never says a control is present or absent and does not rule on the obligation or on you. Each clock is our statement of the clause, read against the copy held and cited.

Data handling: the register runs in your browser and nothing leaves it until you choose to save. Saving uses an email link, and no card is needed until you pick a plan.

Pricing: the free plan lets you try it without an account, eight jobs at a time. Paid plans: Solo, for one person, costs USD 29 monthly; Team, covering everyone in the organisation, costs USD 99 monthly.
