# Security Questionnaire Mapper

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/773149/Security-Questionnaire-Mapper

> Security Questionnaire Mapper is for security, compliance and presales teams at suppliers who receive security questionnaires from customers: standard industry questionnaires, a hospital's vendor form or a bank's own list.

The problem: before anyone writes a reply, someone has to know what each question is really asking, which ones ask it twice, which reach past the certificate on the wall, and which belong to finance or legal. Response platforms are built for teams large enough to feed them a library of past replies. This tool reads the questionnaire itself, question by question, and leaves the writing to you: it never drafts an answer.

How it works:
1. Paste one question per line: Question, ID | Question, or ID | Section | Question. A CSV export works and any answer column is ignored. A first line can set what you hold, the customer type and the date.
2. Choose what you hold (ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, both or neither), the customer type (bank, hospital or health plan, card merchant, government agency, software company or other) and whether you are processor or controller. The customer type ticks its usual frameworks.
3. Each question is matched to a published dictionary of 38 question families in nine groups. A reference code such as A.9.4.2, IAM-02, CC6.1 or PR.AA-03 places it by code; otherwise its wording does. Weak matches show as doubtful with the runner-up, and questions that match nothing are marked unplaced.
4. You get, per question, the family, the anchor clause in each ticked framework, how it was placed, the evidence an assessor expects and any findings.

What you take away: questions grouped into things to answer, a count within and beyond your certification, the rows needing a person, and on paid plans an answer plan with an owner column, a clause map to return beside your replies, a reviewer summary and a one-page board summary.

What it does not do: it writes no reply and says nothing about how you fare against a question. Some frameworks are named and summarised rather than quoted where the full text is not held.

Data handling: the dictionary and clause text load with the page, every placement runs in your browser, and nothing leaves it until you choose to save.

Pricing: the free plan lets you try it without an account, eight questions at a time. Paid plans: Solo, for one person, costs USD 29 monthly; Team, covering everyone in the organisation, costs USD 99 monthly. Team adds a separate register for each customer and shows what changed in the customer's next version.
