# Handoff Register

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/773137/Handoff-Register

> Who it is for
Handoff Register is for operations managers, quality leads and process owners who still coordinate parts of a process by hand and are deciding which steps to give to an AI or automation layer.

The problem
Workflow tools generally ask you to model the process first, and that modelling is the work nobody has time for. The process already exists in the head of the person who runs it. What the written version lacks is a view of which steps are a person acting as the link between two systems, which are judgement, and which link steps carry a control that only exists because someone sees the value as it passes.

How it works
Paste: one step per line in the order it happens, as a numbered list, bullets, a table with a header row or plain sentences, with mixed shapes allowed. Classify: each line is matched against 133 step patterns and 66 systems. Kinds are re-keying, decision, approval and exception. Verdicts are hand over (re-keying, or a decision with a rule a system holds), keep (approvals, judgement with no written rule, exceptions that reach a customer or supplier) and unclear (with four questions). For each hand-over you see which check would vanish and what to record instead. Propose: take the delegation map and the findings to your manager. Findings cover unclear steps, re-keying into a system of record with no check after it, approvals with no threshold, exceptions nobody owns and hand-overs nothing downstream would see, each mapped to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 42001 clauses with the artefacts an auditor accepts.

What it does not do
It does not connect to your systems, run automations or rule on you. It states each obligation in the publisher's own words, cited to its clause.

Data handling
Parsing and classification run in your browser, and nothing is sent until you save.

How it compares
Process mining and workflow suites start from system logs or models. This starts from the plain description a person can write in ten minutes, which makes it a quick way to prepare a business case or pilot scope.

Pricing
Up to 12 steps per run can be tried on the free plan without an account, and the full specimen runs too. The Solo plan costs USD 29 a month for one person. The Team plan costs USD 99 a month for the whole organisation.
