I live MyStudio for my art studio!

Overall My Studio is amazing and a NECESSARY for my business to run smoothly.

Pros

I own an art studio and needed an easy waybfor costumers to sign up. After calling and searching 9 different software companies I finally found MyStudio. This software is just what I needed because it's easy to use (once you play around wih the settings). They also have instructional videos to help you. Their chat is also very helpful.

This software is also very affordable for me. It is well worth the money because I don't have to manually charge anyone or save their info. This software gives me automated costumer payments for my memberships and workshops. The app, as a costumer, is also easy to navigate and purchase.

MyStudio business insight gives me information on how much money a certain class or workshop is bringing in.

Overall, this is what I needed for my business to run smoothly.

Cons

I would like yo be able to send invoices regarding my business and quotes via email but haven’t figured out how to that as well as square.

Love the MyStudio App

It was easy to learn and adapt to our Studio. We converted everyone over with in 1 month, and integrated with our website using "Frames". Super Easy!

Pros

Very helpful to manage my student base and the payments for my members. And allows for them to sign up for membership, classes, events, everything within the App

Cons

The only thing it doesn't do for me s to integrate with my current Testing Sheet format and to keep a master list of my students testing ranks. We are just used to an old system in excel.

Works for just starting out

Have used my studio two separate times in the past 6 years and have left for other softwares each time because they just don’t have the functions to help run the businesss and lack in important areas

Initially the simplicity of the software and the layout of the system

Cons

There constantly seems to be bugs or glitches to work out, it costs extra to send emails and texts using the software, you aren’t able to sign up more than one user at once unless you pay extra, the attendance aspect is minimal at best and doesn’t provide details about students

Great for limited staff facilities

I started when MyStudio was new so it had limited features compared to what was coming down the pipeline. I was a one-person show at the time and it was designed for exactly my needs but as I grew my team I found the needs not being met enough. I wanted a more robust online portal, and then COVID hit so everything shifted. I went back to MyStudio hoping the features I waited for became available after 3 years. Some were better, others were still in waiting. It was increasingly difficult to run detailed reports for my monthly needs so I moved on. I specifically did not renew my annual license but they charged me an entire year on my renewal date despite records showing they wouldn't. I spent four months trying to reconcile with them, which they finally did reverse the charge.

Pros

Simple, easy to track basic financials and growth. Best customer-facing app available. Customer service was awesome. Best event management in the business.

Cons

I started when MyStudio was new so it had limited features compared to what was coming down the pipeline. Great if you need less hands-on customer interaction but not so great if you like the more conventional business model of managing clients directly.

Offered much simpler interface and mobile-friendly options while scaling business back to a single operator. Became less ideal as I grew the facility back up.

Best Decision I Ever Made for My Martial Arts School

Game Changer

My studio was a game changer for our 21-year-old business. We have tried many software programs over the years, and really enjoyed our last one and the simplicity of it, but it struggled in the bookkeeping department. I was spending too much time every weekend trying to get the proper numbers to our CPA. This company turned my emotionally stressed weekends into a FREE weekend to enjoy life as they have all the numbers done for you. It is now simple to give to my CPA. Bonus: The students really enjoy the simplicity of the app and access to all events for planning purposes. The simplicity has allowed us to grow with less effort on our part in filling our events. Overall, I am so grateful and blessed that I found this program.

Pros

I love the analytics, so I can see at all times where my company is at with ease. I also like the simple sign up process for members and non members. Our events fill up quicker and we are blessed with many non members that come to our events to try our program with my studio software.

Cons

There are some things that is not easy to adjust in the software, but I know the product is getting better each year. Sometimes learning some of the opportunities that it offers, can be challenging, but once you learn how to do them you have another growth opportunity.

MyStudio - Great all in one solution

Overall, I really enjoy MyStudio. Many tasks were a manual process and now we have a great automated solution. It is a great way to stay in touch with members and give them a tool to access the information they need as well.

Pros

I like the ease of being able to do business outside the gym. I still feel connected to the business while I am away and can get new members signed up.

Cons

I really cannot think of a con but if I am being picky, I will say I feel navigating through can feel like a lot of clicks sometimes. It could be streamlined better for easier use but overall I have no complaints.

Great customer app

Sometimes we have questions and the chat and/or email response takes longer than customer (in the moment troubleshoot) can wait and/or I have to get back on mats and can't get the problem solved right away.

MyStudio is "MUST" to have if you own any service business!!!

I highly recommand MyStudio app for all my friends who own any service business.

Pros

MyStudio saves me so much time. I used to spend with new trials so much. I needed to schedule them to come in and go over all options and sign up for the membership. It was so much.

Now, it does everything automatically after I set up all emails and information customers need to have in order to be a member.

All clients are able to use their mobile phones to register or know about the program through the app. It is so easy to use anywhere wherever they go.

Cons

Sometimes, customers accidentally register their trials or the wrong locations. I need to reach out to MyStudio team to delete them if I have one, but MyStudio team is always there to answer and help you with your all questions very quickly!

2 Years In

I would say the overall experience has been good, and I am very happy I made the choice to switch to MyStudio.

Pros

The thing I liked most about MyStudio, in the beginning, was the low cost of entry. Once, we implemented the software the customer service was nice, and the software has grown and added new features which are all also nice. The other thing I am quite happy with is the fact that I can get payment processing done as well as get the expensive credit card machines out of my gym.

Cons

What I haven't liked the most has been the slowing down of the customer support, especially as I am a white label member (which is supposed to be like VIP) and sometimes I find it difficult to navigate.

MyStudio Software for Martial Arts School

Customer service and availability of the MyStudio team has been exceptional! Through the set up process to the day to day running of our business, their team has been willing to listen and help at every step. We are very pleased with the value MyStudio adds to our business.

Pros

MyStudio has allowed us to seamlessly register students for events, enroll students in classes, manage students rank progression and sell merchandise through multiple point of sales avenues. Their easy to use landing pages have helped us increase our bottom line and streamlined our registration processes.

Cons

There student database is not as robust as software systems we have used in the past. Exporting the student database to create lists in a spreadsheet does not include values that would be very helpful. User interface is sufficient but uninspiring.

Once set up recurring payments are great. Very easy to pause a student and resume if needed too. Ability to send emails to all students

Cons

Secondary email doesn't always get emails. Confusing to navigate the different choices on tabs ex: multiple tabs say attendance but only 1 launches it .

MyStudio is modern, professional, and easy to learn and use

I’m very happy to switch over from Zen Planner which was feature rich but overly complicated and had a dated and clunky user interface. The best part of MyStudio is that I can copy paste links for enrollment and retail purchase links into texts to my customers, they love it, we love it!

Pros

MyStudio has a clean and modern web based interface. There is a minimal buttons to learn while providing all the features necessary for martial arts enrollment management.

Cons

I would prefer the ability to speak directly to support or correspond via email as opposed to chat. I haven’t figured out if there are tutorial videos to learn about features that I am not yet familiar with such as automations and the CRM. We are currently using Market Muscles integrated (provides website opt in lead information)with Go High Level as our CRM… I would be interested in using MyStudio as my CRM but I need the capability to schedule and track appointments for new students and automated lead nurturing… the way I have it setup now, the website directs the prospect to a google calendar appointments page (provides by Go High Level) where they can schedule their own first free class

MyStudio saved my business

I love my studio. I love that I pay the entire year up front each year forgoing the onerous monthly billing of other like companies

Pros

I love the ability to pass on credit card fees to my customers as well as track attendance and use their point of sale feature

Cons

The only negative is that because there is so much that this software offers it takes time to understand how to navigate its numerous features

Good for the Price

Overall it is good for the price. We went with them because they were the cheapest at the time.

Pros

Easy to set up automatic billing, easy to charge a card on file. Keeps up with student info easily.

Cons

It is set up to where the customer does everything. We want to make everything as easy as possible for our customer so we want to handle everything for them. We had to figure out how to do that with MyStudio.

MyStudio Review

Settling into MyStudio has taken time to get used to and the software continues to evolve for the better. It has allowed our business to save money and simplify our software.

Pros

Ability to save money as we grow our business and it has a clean look.

Cons

Onboarding was a lengthy process and took several months. Glitches here and there that required workarounds. However, the support team is always responsive and MyStudio has done a great job at helping.

Amazing platform and wonderful to work with!

Pros

The user experience is simple which made the implementation/training process SO much easier than what was proposed by some of the other systems we looked at. All of the functionality we needed to support our 400+ locations is included and the MyStudio team has been wonderful to work with in customizing the platform to fit our needs to a T.

Cons

Better reporting capabilities are needed but this is something the MyStudio team is already working on and I have full confidence they will be able to deliver!

Amazing Idea that falls short

MyStudio has not solved any of my problems. In the times that I have emailed or chatted with customer service, I have had to create my own "work around" to solve my issues. Unfortunately, the list of issues continues to grow and I find myself looking elsewhere for a better product.

Pros

I love the events and the ability to upload curriculum.

Cons

The features regarding the data base have much to be desired. Users are able to change their information, therefore making it difficult for my staff to contact them (the users frequently erase their own phone numbers when signing up for events).
It's also time consuming to create customized reports/student lists... there are no customized templates for such things.
The leadership seems to have their own agenda and not that of the customers. I have several friends who are moving on to similar apps which, in my opinion, "listen to the needs of the customer."

Love the ease of use for the APP - have had some major learning curves - and things with APPLE that a normal working person would never know how to fix.... so for just a regular person that thinks you can put your business on an APP - think of the entire process - and the continuing process to keep it running

Some of the features are not changeable to our business - cannot put our class schedule on APP...

MyStudio has SAVED our studio

Overall exerience is: It SAVED our studio during COVID. They treat you like a person not a number and make things individualized and TRULY care about their customers. They truly get to know you and your needs and WANT to see you succeed.

Pros

MyStudio has made the enrollment process a simple click of a few buttons. The app is so user friendly that ALL parents/students can use. There isn't any hidden surprises or fees or anything... the buyer feels comfortable in what they are enrolling in and what the prices are. What used to jam up our studio enrolling people took an extra employee dedicated to it and at least an hour every night to do so. NOW I don't have to have the extra employee and I can concentrate on instruction of students without distratction.

Cons

Sometimes I don't like that things are ever changing and developing and I have to learn the "new" way to do it, but honestly..... it's just me not the software. MyStudio simply changes things because they are ever improving and LISTENING to their customer and the needs and wishes.

You must have MyStudio for your business!

I don't have anything else to think about switching other software but keeping MyStudio. MyStudio offers everything that I need for my business.

Pros

Mystudio has been so helpful ever since we decided to use it. Especially, managing trials and memberships has been so much easier such as enrolling memberships, and following trials with automated emails and text. over 90% of our membership has been through customers' phones using MyStudio App. No more Paper!!!

Cons

MyStudio has been great most time. MySutio has lots of tools to customize what you need for your business. I feel like I use 10% of what MyStudio offers...

Best Software we have used!

Overall - this is the best software we have ever used and they keep coming up with more updates and upgrades.

Pros

Integration was SEAMLESS! This has always been the most difficult in using a new software but MS makes it easy. You can customize memberships and events to your liking so it is very flexible as well.

Cons

I am not very tech savvy so for me some things are not self-explanatory just by logging in but I believe it is because of the advanced options of this software. If i'm every unsure, I just reach out to the Customer Service team and they answer all of my questions!

Perfect for Running Martial Arts Schools

Pros

The essential KPIs (leads, trials, memberships, gross sales) are in your face every day! In order to run my school effectively, I need to be able to see the necessary data with ease, and MyStudio does that! I love that the company continues to listen to its everyday users, and MyStudio continues to upgrade its platform.

Cons

Like all CRMs, MyStudio has a bit of a learning curve. Once you familiarize yourself with its systems, you are able to perform administrative tasks intuitively and efficiently.

Overall good experience

Pros

Customer service is great. I like the seminars. Still learning some of the features.

Cons

I think once a person inputs their information for any purchase, is should auto fill for everything else and not have to be reinput. Also, I would like to sell personalized items that Century Direct does not carry. This includes logo t-shirt, hats, hoodies, etc. Maybe consider partnering with a Printing company that can tie in like Century Direct.

Innovative, easy to use, one stop shop!

Overall, without MyStudio, our business would not have survived the pandemic. The ability to enroll members and customers with a url and from the comfort of their own home is unmatched.

Pros

Mystudio makes owning a karate school easy!

I have always had a great connection with the mystudio product and service.

Pros

I love that I can communicate with all of my members easily.

Cons

Mystudio can require that you move in and out of areas in the software constantly. I find that I have to run the software in two different browsers sometimes to access the information I need for a customer while communicating.

Great For My Small School

Pros

MyStudio is easy to use. I use it to update promotions, take attendance, receive tuition payments, set up special events, etc. It's great for me and my families!

Cons

The one feature I really don't like, which I despise is the pop-up when students check in that notifies them that they cannot check in because of an unpaid balance. It is class shaming and terrible. Payment is between me and the parents. Students should not be burdened with this information. I know my families are good to pay. Things happens. I have called about this and filled an suggestion, but was told that they had no interest in changing it. I would warn others of this if I recommended MyStudio.

Change due to comany

Pros

We were informed we were switching from one programe to mystudio. The process was awesome and easy. A year later we are fully up and running and so happy with the product.

Cons

Because we switched so fast a lot of the training behind the program was missed so it was not easy at first to learn the system. It is much easier now.

Switching to MyStudio was a time and life saver

I no longer have to be in my dojo outside of business hours during sales if people want to come in on a day to purchase camps or gear. It is all done through the app and I don't need to be at the desk processing payments, members can do it right through their app or through the tablet at the front of the dojo.

Pros

I love how simple this software is easy to use. Our members love it too! Everyone can purchase what they want at any hour of the day or night. I do not need to send out links or reminders now to purchase camps, they know where to look right away now. We have removed our front desk now and all waivers and information is done on the software. It has made our lives easier and removed the need for extra staff, now our instructors can focus on the students and not chasing money or spending a long time learning how to use this software. It is simple to use and I love how it's constantly evolving. It really has saved me time that I can now spend elsewhere!

Cons

I would like to see something to issue receipts for the year or easy invoices.

MyStudio is a critical element in our business operations and success

Keeps client info safe and easy to access for staff. App has been great for having clients register for ongoing classes and programs. It has also helped with keeping accurate attendance which helps us with retention, we know exactly which students we need to reach out to and get them back in classes.

Pros

Software is easy and intuitive to use. Customer service is always available to support and answer questions. All of my staff can use which keeps things running smoothly.

Cons

It would be great if Apple or Google pay was an option. It would also be great if we could add clients in and charge a drop in rather than having them download app etc. We sometimes get out of town visitors and they just want to walk in and pay and not have to go through downloading app, setup etc.

You can find those URLs in each respective module in your control panel. You can also charge drop ins, sign people up right at the Point of Sale. My Experience with MyStudio for my very first business

I enjoyed my time with MyStudio and I know there are some issues but for the most part, I'm happy with the product and plan to renew for next year.

Pros

I love the customer service, with all my dumb questions they are always patient with me and get to the bottom of issues.
The format is super nice as administrator, for client management, automatic payments, the trigger for late payments, email us (how its also sent to other emails so I don't miss it), the website template, and billing schedule, the cash flow, and many more features I can't list at the moment.

I can't imagine running my business without it.

Cons

Updates - I would like more notice of any updates to the software, like via text or email. This notice is to double-check the client's accounts to confirm the payment is correct.

For the website template, I would like the option to run google ads but it requires coding which the website template does not provide. IF MyStudio can fix that issue that would be great!

The processing fees, I think the rate is too high and MyStudio should look into another payment processing service because I found way cheaper options but they were not compatible with MyStudio at the time.

Events/Product Links - When we were selling digital products or any products through the MyStudio, when we shared the link it came up "suspicious, spammy, and malicious" to customers that deferred them away from purchasing. Which was very frustrating as a business owner.

The only thing I don't understand is why my other coaches and students claimed that they don't like MyStudio or use it and I'm not sure why. I've asked them but there are no notes about anything they can change. This is frustrating because I enjoy MyStudio.

Great CRM, many features without the big pricetag

MyStudio is a comprehensive CRM system with new features added consistently. Easy to use, onboard etc. Great value for money whether you have a large existing club or just starting out. Helpful support team albeit in a difficult timezone for me here in AUS. Always respond by email the next day/night though.

Pros

MyStudio has a great range of features at much more affordable price tiers than other martial arts software packages.
Features/updates are being added all the time as they listen to what their users want.
Especially great for clubs starting out who can't afford the big $$$ software packages, and really, MyStudio are always adding features to catch up with those other brands.
I can manage regular classes/memberships, events such as gradings, special school holiday days and even my retail store.
All this can be run online without the need for me to be continuously jumping off the mat to run POS (I'm a one girl show!)

Cons

Support Team in US so if I want contact, it is in the middle of the night here in Australia. Would be nice to develop a team in another timezone to be a "subject matter expert". They might not know everything, but would be good for initial onboarding and troubleshooting live through the chat.
I want an "opt out" feature with trials. When someone signs up for a trial, I want it to convert automatically to a weekly direct debit membership unless they opt out. I know this is a feature in other software, and it is costing me alot of admin time to send out emails, and also costing me membership fees!
This is probably more my lack of knowledge, but want to be able to choose how I sort participants (first name to make it easier for attendance) and also a feature where we can right our own reports/exports (own selection of columns/data and Skills Progress - actual skill, not how many)

My experience with MyStudio

You seem to be an upstart company with well-intentioned staff in positions they may not have the expertise to fulfill but do have the desire. You would do yourselves thousands of favors if you had an "install" team that travelled to your clients and completed an initial set-up process.

Pros

Frankly, this is the first software management we have used at our school. Previously, we did everything by hand, spreadsheet and through our bank. We do not have other product experience for comparison in this industry. Having said that, we like having the ability to communicate with our students, manage banking and payments and the ability to set up retail sales through the app.

Cons

The software is not organized in a fashion that is intuitive to me or my staff. There are too many clicks and prompts to get through in order to complete a simple task. An example is that in order to communicate with the entire student body, you cannot use the communications tab. You are forced to use the "All Customers" tab. This is counterintuitive. There, as far as we know, is no method for "fulfilling" multiple retail orders simultaneously. There are more but you get the point.
