# ESGDO

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/565802/ESGDO

> ESGDO is a VSME reporting application for companies with up to 1,000 employees, and for the accountants and advisors who prepare reports for them.

A bank, a large customer, or an insurer often asks for sustainability data. The person who has to answer is usually a finance manager, an office manager, a quality manager, or the owner. ESGDO guides that person through the full VSME standard, calculates energy and emission figures from official national data, and checks answers for errors before export.

Every calculated figure has a named source you can show. Emission factor libraries are named and dated: KOBiZE for Poland, UBA for Germany, ADEME for France, plus AIB, DESNZ, and Ember. When you apply a calculated figure to the report, the application records which factor was used. If the company has sites in more than one country, energy data is collected per country because grid factors differ. A fuel converter turns physical fuel quantities into megawatt hours using national conversion parameters. You can add your own factors.

The result is a complete report, not a questionnaire dump. You export a PDF with a contents page, bookmarks, and charts, and an XBRL file built on the EFRAG VSME taxonomy dated 1 May 2026. Structural checks and language checks run before export. Cross-field checks run again on the server against saved data. For example, the gender breakdown and the contract type breakdown must equal the headcount reported in B1.

Prepare the same report in more than one language. Write the descriptive sections in each language you need, then export a complete PDF or XBRL file in any of them. The figures stay identical. Only the language changes. Nothing is machine translated at export. If narrative text is missing in the export language, the application reports it as a validation issue instead of substituting text. The application and the website are available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese for Brazil, Polish, and Dutch.

An AI assistant can explain a field, propose wording, show an example, or verify text. It works from a document library, documents your account uploads, and documents attached to one company. Every answer lists the sources used. You can insert the proposed text with one action. There is no limit on how much you store. Uploading a document uses AI credits. Every report includes 1,000 credits. Extra credits can be bought at any time. Accepted files include PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, CSV, XLSX, and MD, plus web addresses. The per-file size limit is 30 MB.

You pay for a report, not for a year. Price is based on employee headcount. Invoices can be issued in euro, US dollar, or Polish zloty. When you pay, ESGDO keeps company data, answers, and uploaded documents for at least 18 months. Every new report renews that period, so last year's answers are still there when comparative figures are needed.

From the financial year starting on 1 January 2027, a large company that reports under CSRD cannot require more sustainability data than the VSME standard from a company with up to 1,000 employees. Preparing a VSME report remains voluntary. The application exists so you can produce a defensible document when someone asks.

Account protection includes login rate limiting, email verification, two-factor authentication by SMS or authenticator application, recovery codes, and single sign-on with Google, Microsoft, or LinkedIn. Cookies are encrypted. Sign-in events, password resets, and SSO attempts are written to an audit log. Team invitation links expire. Roles can restrict each employee to their own client companies.

A finished sample report is published on the ESGDO website so you can judge the output before you start.
