Hive improves collaboration and project management
The platform has transformed the way my team collaborates and manages projects. The intuitive interface, coupled with powerful project planning features, has significantly improved our efficiency and productivity.
Pros
Hive has become an indispensable tool in my daily workflow, and its best feature, in my opinion, is the seamless integration of project management and collaboration tools. The ability to centralize communication, task management, and file sharing in one platform has significantly enhanced team collaboration and efficiency.
Cons
The mobile app experience could use some improvement. The app is functional, but it lacks some of the features available in the desktop version. Enhancing the mobile app's capabilities would be beneficial for users who need to manage tasks and collaborate while on the go.

The best project management software
I think Hive is a great project management tool that offers many features and benefits for users.
Pros
It has a smart analytics feature that allows users to track their progress, performance, and productivity, and get insights and recommendations from machine learning.
Cons
The task dependencies feature is not available or not working properly. Users cannot create dependent tasks or link tasks to each other.

A contender for the worst software
It did not provide a positive working experience and promoted user-anxiety at the agency.
Pros
Everyone using it at the omnicom agency I worked at, were in agreement hive lacked basic features, rushed poorly planned new features weekly (in response to complaints), which caused disturbing time-wasting new bugs. The ‘pro’ to this is we all agreed
I used it throughout 2022 and changed jobs 2023- and I don't have to use hive now- big YAY
Cons
Fundamental functions lacking included: cut, copy, paste ,undo (if software does not have these features working, run don’t walk from it)
Did not do their homework and as a result were missing many standard features. For instance: minor but expected: no total of comments in a route reviewing WIP deliverable (people want to know a review’s progress, counting 70 comments to inform the team is wasteful: feature was later added)
Reacting to complaints by adding features weekly indicates bad programming with poor planning. It’s not acceptable because….
New features = risk of new bugs - and hive’s weekly upgrades resulted in constant bugs, which incurred 2-5 wasted hours of each users time weekly spent documenting and finding work-arounds. We could not trust the software.
Heres just a few of the continuous stream of bugs that would suddenly occur, a non-ending assault, boggling comprehension.
-In the timeline list view suddenly all days of the week disappeared. The feature was reinstated in a week or 2, but only moving forward. In all previous timelines the days stayed missing
-This was crazy ; in timelines suddenly all line items reading ‘Client Review’ literally dropped to the bottom after in market date.so there was a stack of clients reviews after the project ended. We had to drag them back into position. Fun times!
-Suddenly but randomly, teams review routes started to freeze. The status of the supposedly current reviewer would read “reviewing” far too long. I would contact them for status and find they were not reviewing and often did not have that Hive project open. The notification that it was their turn was not received. To get the route working when that happened, I has to delete all reviewers which would remove approvals. The team members on the route had to be manually re-entered. The bug evolved and started mixing up the reviewer data. For instance it would insert my name reviewing for the Account team. I was project management…same work-around delete reviewers and re-enter..
I could go on and on.
I was tasked to write up the issues our agency wanted to retire hive. However removal would be hard as someone purchased hive for every omnicom agency. I’m not sure what happened.
My first company-wide software dev project was in 1991 for Atlantic records tracking sales in real time. Since then i have managed 12 similar scale software dev projects.
My hive experience reminded me of one where we inherited partially done development whose code was so ill-conceived the fix was trash it and start over.

Ideal for cooperation on internal and external projects
Team members should be able to talk to each other right away. As a company, we rely heavily on phone contacts with consumers, therefore when problems arise, staff members need to be able to get down to the bottom of things without having to start another call. While on the phone with a customer, we may effortlessly converse thanks to this service.
Pros
It's incredibly straightforward, yet packed with flexible features. handling projects as a manager. Assigning work to team members, keeping tabs on their progress, etc.
Cons
The only drawback thus far is the cost. Although it is not the cheapest service we have used, it has everything we need to keep our projects on schedule and working smoothly.

A potentially powerful tool crippled by poor and inconsistent UI
An unmitigated horror story of misery and despair. Completely unsuitable for managing multiple complex jobs with many moving parts. A very poor piece of software for granular time management. It has lots of potentially good features but they are all so badly and confusingly designed. It could potentially be very useful and powerful but they need to completely revamp their UI design philosophy to make it easy and consistent. It feels very outdated and not well joined up.
Pros
They have a very good support team and the project gantt charts are useful.
Cons
The UI is unbelievably poorly designed with lots of inconsistencies and everything takes more clicks and time than it should. It is incredibly inaccessible for the neurodiverse because of it's poor design. It takes a long time to learn and is quite glitchy. I frequently encounter problems and it is difficult to work out whether each problem is due to a Hive glitch or a user error because of the poor UI. It's a total time sink and makes me want to quit my job.

Benefits project managers greatly
Our company's leaders now get a bird's-eye perspective of all ongoing work thanks to Hive. Using this technology has helped us streamline our processes, which has resulted in better projects completed faster. By consistently utilizing Hive, we drastically reduce the likelihood that a client's inquiry or a project's progress would be overlooked.
Pros
The visual interface is intuitive. Our Marketing team can benefit from using the proofreading tool. By streamlining the approval process, it shortened the time it took to complete our projects. Anxious users will like the "my actions" tab's streamlined perspective. It's great that any member of our team may serve as the project manager for their respective tasks.
Cons
I'd like it if the statuses could be modified to suit individual needs rather than coming prepopulated, or if the option to delete the default statuses was available.

Under the radar project and task management system.
We were looking for an affordable solution for our project management and we found it in hive. It does "almost" everything we need and we use it on a weekly basis. It helps us keep track of each item that needs to be handled in a particular file.
Pros
It was pretty simple to onboard our team and also simple to create a workflow system.
Cons
I think we need a more robust notification system to keep track of project tasks.

Good for Small, Remote Teams
Overall, Hive has been a good system for our team to work effectively. It gets the job done, although not always as simply as other tools.
Pros
The native time-tracking feature was one of the biggest reasons our team chose Hive as its primary project management tool. With a team as spread out as ours geographically, Hive has made it easier to collaborate and execute projects. Hive is always looking to improve, and we appreciate that they ask for feedback and implement it.
Cons
Hive has limitations in terms of its reporting and integrations. We would love to be able to build our CRM right in Hive to simplify our sales cycle work and time tracking, but we must still use a third-party at this point. Additionally, automations in Zapier and integrations with third-party apps are still not as robust as with other popular project management systems such as Asana.

Development Done Very Wrong
Hive more than doubles the amount of tedious, manual data entry required for every project. Most of my team actively avoids using Hive as much as possible. Instead we rely on spreadsheets and email to do literally everything Hive can do but better, faster, and with less training. Then we just mark everything complete in Hive so it looks like we're using it.
Pros
If you complain about Hive enough you'll get a thirsty email from Hive's [sensitive content hidden] asking for free advice.
Cons
Hive proudly proclaims itself "the world's first democratic project management platform," then goes on to explain, "That means that our product is built by users, for users, via feedback on our Forum." What it actually means is not only do they expect end users to beta test their unfinished software but also that they expect those end users to pay for the privilege. The backlog of bugs that users have reported via their forum is five years long. They have no plans to actually fix anything; instead they're obsessed with addeing "new" features that are really just re-packaged old features that never worked right and still don't. Hive somehow manages to fail at even the simplest functions of basic project management. For example, if the dates for a project shift back a week, you have to manually change the date for every single action and subaction in that project. Unless, that is, you pay for an add-on tool that lets you automate that. But you'll have to program it yourself. And it probably won't work anyway. Because they didn't bother to test if the automate tool and they're using you, the paying user, as a guinea pig.

Efficient Task Management, Time Tracking for Businesses
Pros
I've used Hive for managing some of my personal projects. I've used templates, which can be customized, and helped me in creating detailed project plans & workflows. Also timetracking on tasks, projects is a feature I used greatly.
Cons
The cost was on a higher side for a small B2B SAAS startup. Also I've felt the UI and system to be a bit complicated. There was a steep learning curve to learn things I believe, which I didn't attempted at that time.

Nice IU, has awesome apps as add ons.
Great tool, Awesome User interface, wide variety of features. HIVE must try to include individual based pricing for organizations as each user requirements differ in a diverse organization and HIVE could end up losing in this competitive field. HIVE should come up with AI based tools to assist along with its existing project management framework.
Pros
Great user interface. Ease of use, can get started easily, lots of features and add on apps. Add action cards to project via email and assign users to the action card.
Cons
Too expensive. We need to pay the same price for all users, the price of the version with the most apps and features- even if many users may not use those features.
That there is no AI based offering, a smart AI based offering that could read the emails and automatically create projects/action cards and assign users to the action cards/projects. We have to manually do that, I think HIVE has the capability to evolve to this point.
Response from Hive Technology
Thanks for your review! We're happy to hear that you enjoy using Hive, and that you find our interface so appealing and easy to use. I will make sure to pass along your other feedback about price and AI to the appropriate teams here at Hive. Cheers!

The appropriate collaborative option for managing various types of projects.
Hive helped us plan our projects more accurately and generate executable work plans that allowed us to follow the implementation stages and adjust tasks more flexibly. I strongly urge everyone to use it and take advantage of its collaborative and remote working features. Support is quick to respond and address difficulties when we have needed it.
Pros
Hive is more user-friendly, and one of the easiest project management platforms to set up and use, all for a low monthly fee. We were able to include customers and stakeholders on the same subscription, which helped us to accurately collect their opinion, especially in the planning stages and development of work schedules. In summary, it is a powerful collaborative tool that keeps everyone informed of project developments and assigns roles fairly, ensuring that all participants contribute according to their expertise.
Cons
Hive is ideal for a wide range of projects and comes at a very reasonable price. It is simple and flexible enough to manage all stages of the project life cycle.

"One of the most functional software for project managers and entrepreneurs."
The best thing and the most productive benefit of the hive are that it can alter anything into an engaging task. Thus, with the multiple features and simple interface, this software is bringing a wide range of work opportunities. Hence, to be on track you need such easy-to-use software with the best integration and drag plus drop attributes. In short, the hive is one of the most functional software for entrepreneurs and other users. The easy-to-use keys and appealing dashboard make it quite interesting for users to work. Thus, bring it one and enjoy the unlimited proactive tools.
Pros
As quoted, this is one of the best and first management platforms supporting democracy. So, this software manages the whole working schedule very well for the users. Thus, you will regulate the timings and working strategies with the help of this tool. Hive helps in the engaging audience and provides productivity with collaborative teamwork.
Cons
Having no problem is a problem. So, when it comes to hives then a lot of users complain about the notifications that don't pop up while working. Thus, there are many analytical report generation and buffering issues that customers encounter.

Great Warehouse Tool - Easy to Query and Integrate
Hive was my first foray into data warehouse tools (other than a super clunky, outdated tool for pulling limited SQL results from a single table at a time). The ability to query across multiple tables, to quickly examine schemas, and to track your previous queries and results was huge in enabling us to experiment with new ways of scripting back-end processes with immediate, hands-on results. It was also able to plug directly into other areas of our workflow without much issue - we pulled data directly from Hive into Tableau, and we queried data from Hive in R to perform QA.
Pros
Being able to track previous queries and results goes a long way when experimenting with different ways to pull what you want. It's particularly helpful when you're constantly making changes and want to potentially revert to versions that worked. Integrations with tools such as RStudio or Tableau are also relatively easy, making it super convenient to load data directly into dashboards or scripts without worrying about extra tools or ETL processes.
Cons
Takes a little more work to set up compared to an all-in-one solution (such as AWS, where the various tools are all in a single platform).

A Great Tool For An Old Dog Who's Still Learning New Tricks
All jobs are run through Hive so we solve all our team productivity, scheduling and asset sharing (not final assets but briefs, notes, schedules, background documents, comps, etc) through the tool. We do not currently use the tool for client interaction, sharing or as an approval mechanism although we would like to.
Pros
I very much like the ablility to integrate IM, email and the productivity capabilities into one tool. It's a fantastic way to keep a 360-degree record of every job.
Cons
I do find that there is a huge learning curve for someone like me. I've been in this business for a long time but have always relied on others in supporting roles like traffic and production. Working for a small company where I am now responsible for everything from strategy to implementation and project management is a big challenge in and of itself. But learning the software on top of that does take time. It's not necessarily intuitive for someone like me that hasn't used other productivity software. Finding help and instructional videos to help me learn the basics and progress is somewhat difficult. I find myself spending lots of time sifting through the blog, doing Google and YouTube searches and reaching out through he tool's chat capability (often times it takes several hours to get a response). I wish there was a channel with all the videos that were well organized into a series of tutorials that would get you up and running quickly. I do a lot of trial and error and "learn by doing" on the platform. Again, because I'm a newbie, I suspect that would be the same no matter which tool I was using and probably isn't an issue for my younger, software native, brethren.

The Best Workflow and Product Management Software We've Found
Pros
After trying 3 or more programs for workflow and product management, none of them have the sophistication and intuitive features that Hive does. It has helped our project management and workflow process tremendously!
Cons
Because Hive offers such in-depth customization, it can be difficult to set everything up to run at maximum efficiency. We have a person in our company that was able to put everything together in such a way that made everything run very smoothly. So it may be a little difficult to set up to your needs, but once it's there your productivity will soar.

Hive: The app that pulls it altogether
We all love hive from the upper management to the day to day users. It is so great to go through the rundown of projects and see how they are all coming along. Thanks for making such a great piece of software!
Pros
We have a very large team and Hive helps our team stay connected on all of our projects in all different groups. It really keeps us organized and on time.
Cons
There is alot to cover with hive. The team has been helpful with our implementation. I wish that hive could connect with our calendars so that a due date and time can be seen on my calendar on my iphone. That is the one thing we have not yet figured out.

Happy Hivers
As a virtual accounting team, we are using Hive not only to document our full range of workflow processes and procedures, but also as an audit trail. Hive keeps us on task and on point with client commitments, and has helped us collaborate with each other more effectively. Internal emails are almost non-existent now w/ the Hive messaging and commenting tools. We looked at all the options out there and were impressed with how Hive seems to bring the best of each project management platform to bear. It has been a gamechanger for us.
Pros
Love the clean, bright interface, the options for data/project organization and visual representation, and stellar customer support - especially during onboarding. Hive messaging is also really slick (we no longer use Slack) and the platform's Giphy integration makes for some fun times for our virtual team.
Cons
There are some quirks which we have discussed at length with the development team - most notably the inability to create dependent tasks within project actions that recur. We hear they are working on it, though. And our direct contact with support is a main reason we love Hive.

Great way to organize your team & work flow!
Veyr good. It works perfectly for us as a small firm working priarily remotely.
Pros
Hive is a great software for organizing our team's time, projects and work flow. Our team works remotely, and this tool really helps us to connect with one another and coordinate our efforts. As an administrator, I am able to easily monitor projects to ensure we are on time and budget (using the time tracking estimates), and my team's time to ensure our resources have enough but not too much work. It also allows us to measure our productivity and adjust our time and budget estimates for future projects.
Cons
It was a bi of a learning curve, so although ease of use now is okay I think this part could be enhanced. We are unable to send emails from hive using alias', which is difficult because I use one for my firm (many small business do) and makes the email feature unusable for us and there should be an option so that only administrators can see time of other employees. This is for us to monitor and it is inappropriate for other employees to see, as they do not necessarily know the circumstances for another staff which may be confidential.

Good for Workflow Basics
Overall, Hive has been a great addition to the company. It feels scalable and the easy of use is nice. I am still exploring features such as Time Tracking as I work towards configuring the software to account for more of our workflow. Customer service has been pleasant to deal with and they are working towards addressing some of the logic flaws in their design. Hopefully within a couple of months, we'll have the tool where we need it.
Pros
Organizing and structuring recurring assignments for a team of writers who produce over 1,000 articles per month can be challenging. Hive definitely helps keep things flowing. My writers love how clear and concise their workload is presented each day. The ability to change and insert new assignments or move them around is also great.
Cons
The reporting and accountability factors are lacking a little in Hive. There is some bad logic in their recurring actions that prevent us from being able to generate accurate productivity reports. They are currently working towards addressing this issue, but as it stands if you need strong, reliable reporting and also need recurring assignments, then Hive may not be the tool for you... yet.

A good choice for collaboration and project management
It has been great to have everything in one place: team chat, task management and tracking, and project management/scheduling tools. Team is really responsive to feature requests. I think this is already a good choice compared to alternatives, and it will be easily the best choice if they continue this trajectory.
Pros
Different views are useful for different use cases and avoid duplicating entries between collaboration and project management
Cons
Its a newer product and some of the features can a be a bit buggy from a user interface perspective. In part, I think this is from having a quite large set of features included compared to alternative platforms. However, the team is really responsive to bug fixes and none of the bugs compromise data or use.

Productive Tool for Teams
Pros
Hive provides a clear and easy way to create, assign, handle, and complete tasks of most types. It allows sub-actions for tasks that provide a granular approach to complex tasks which allows for easy tracking. I love the fact you can 'drag and drop' attachments right into tasks. We found it very helpful to assign specific sub-actions to certain members on the team.
The message center on the left is great feature to have; allows you to deal with clients as external users.
Cons
I don't like how the message center on the left can't be adjusted to resize the portion used for 'groups' vs. 'direct messages'.
