Cibotti is a browser-based ledger that cryptographically seals every entry the moment it's created. Using SHA-256 hashing, the same fingerprinting technology trusted by banks and government systems, each entry is linked to the one before it in an unbroken chain. Alter a single character in a past entry, and the math no longer checks out — tampering becomes detectable rather than a matter of trust or reputation.

What sets Cibotti apart is that this isn't just an internal safeguard. Each entry's hash can also be anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps, giving the record an independent, publicly verifiable timestamp that exists outside Cibotti's own systems entirely. That combination of internal hash-chaining and external blockchain anchoring is what allows Cibotti records to qualify as self-authenticating evidence under Federal Rules of Evidence 902(13) and (14) — meaning they can stand on their own in a legal or compliance setting without requiring a witness to testify to their authenticity.

> **Pros**: we like that we did not have to install software or buy licenses. we enter our codes into the mobile-friendly system and complete the reports. the security features like geolocation and device detection are definitely more useful than we thought they would be\!

> **Cons**: nothing major, but we had to learn a little about Bitcoin time stamp anchoring, blockchain verification, hashing encryption, etc. It is actually a good thing to learn overall, but I could see how this could scare some customers off initially.
