Created from a bid-pricing method developed by a mechanical contractor with nearly 30 years of estimating experience, The Bid Sheet calculates a job-specific breakeven cost and the selling price required to achieve a selected profit margin. It accounts for labor hours and rates, labor burden, indirect costs, general and administrative expenses, materials, subcontractors, equipment, miscellaneous costs, taxes, and bonding requirements.

Owners establish the company’s financial settings, labor rates, profit targets, users, and approval requirements. Estimators use those approved settings when preparing individual bid calculations, helping the company apply its cost structure consistently across different estimators and projects. The resulting calculation provides a clear breakdown of estimated costs, breakeven, and the recommended selling price.

The Bid Sheet is particularly useful for contractors who currently apply a general markup percentage, divide costs by an assumed factor, or maintain complicated multipage pricing spreadsheets. It distinguishes profit margin from markup and gives the contractor an independent financial check before the bid goes out.

The software is web-based and includes owner and estimator permissions, team management, and bid-approval workflows. Setup guidance and instructional videos help users establish their company financial settings and begin creating bid calculations.
