TherapyNotes keeps everything in one easy place!
Wonderful product. Made my job much eaiser. Just a little more pricey than some of the other products that are the same as this.
Pros
Everything is in one easy spot. I can schedule an appointment, do telehealth, take notes, and bill all in the same platform. You don't really need anything else when using TherapyNotes, LLC. It keeps track of everything for you. Making the work load so much easier.
Cons
The price is very high. Custumer support was also hard to reach the first time I tried to contact them.

The best case notes are created with TherapyNotes
Writing case notes was something that used to take a long time and required me to create a whole new note every time. Thanks to TherapyNotes I can create and reuse a template to save time and make notes more organized and easy to read. I love the fact that the notes are all stored in one location that I can quickly access regardless of whether I’m on my desktop computer at home or through my smartphone when I’m out in the community. The software also makes it easy to filter through in order to find specific notes which is very convenient.
Pros
It makes writing case notes a breeze for mental health practitioners. It allows me to store all my case notes in one convenient place. This makes it really easy to access them whenever I need to and it also allows me to quickly filter through them to find any specific note I need to access.
Cons
The price is quite steep for solo practitioners.

Never got to see it's full potential!
I had a trial with therapy notes that was extended to 6 months. With my schedule being as busy as it is, it was hard for me to transition from my current EHR because of the steep learning curve. I found myself watching YouTube videos and their tutorials trying to figure certain things out. I did not complete onboarding because it took up too much of my time.
Pros
It is a customizable EHR which is what I was looking for.
Cons
It was hard to set up, there is a learning curve, difficult to navigate initially.

CarepatronReasons for Switching to TherapyNotes, LLC
I am currently in the process of leaving Simple Practice due to issues with reliability after 3 years. I was going to choose Therapy Notes and did a 6 month free trail. Due to issues with setting things up, as TN does not make it easy, I have chosen to go with Carepatron and I love it.- Industry: Health, Wellness & Fitness

Great for most therapists, not customizable enough for me
I first used therapy notes as a staff clinician at a group practice. When I opened my own therapy practice, I started with Therapy Notes since I was familiar with the platform and generally liked them. I found the support team very helpful in getting me setup. TherapyNotes was easy for both me and my clients to use which was a plus. The biggest reason I ultimately chose a different platform was because I wanted more freedom and flexibility with my documentation such as intake paperwork and notes. The templates in TherapyNotes offered minimal customization and that was ultimately a dealbreaker for me.
Pros
Very user friendly on both the clinician and client end. Affordable, especially for a smaller practice. Support team was great! Very responsive and helpful.
Cons
I wanted forms that were more customizable. This was the biggest reason that I changed platforms. I appreciated that the standard forms included necessary information, but they were not customizable enough for my specific niche/client population.

Can't love TN more!
I love the ease of use, and I feel like the customer support staff truly cares about the providers. I also feel more comfortable with my chart compliance.
Pros
I love the ease of use, and the client portal. I can easily send things to my clients in this virtual day and age. Customer support is stellar.
Cons
Can't make customizable progress note forms, but the one they have is perfectly fine. I'm just anal

Please give us better Reports and KPI Tracking options
My overall experience is good and they are making improvements regularly.
Pros
I like the ease of the system and readability
Cons
I feel there are many things that could be improved. Reports and data collection is almost non existent. tracking and reporting for missed appointments is extremely difficult, billing secondary insurances is not an easy process, areas for notes and memos are not clean, I wish you could change appointment color based on different things such as checked in or canceled.

Great Platform, Excellent Customer Service
I have been and continue to be very happy with TherapyNotes! It makes my job easier, and offers everything I am looking for.
Pros
TherapyNotes is a straightforward platform that makes it easy to complete notes, keep track of scheduling, and manage billing. What I like best though, is their customer service. They are so easy to access and have been incredibly helpful!
Cons
Initially there were a few features (like being able to customize forms) that TherapyNotes did have, but they are continuously updating their platform and have added these features!

One of the biggest reasons was the "To-Do" list TherapyNotes has--it allows me to keep track of notes I have started but not completed, as well as other billing tasks. Their customer service was also a big reason, as I felt they want to hear from their users and are responsive to feedback.- Industry: Mental Health Care

Simply Incredible Service
In the past six months, being new to the medical industry, I have contacted Therapy Notes six times. EVERY SINGLE TIME the customer service agent walked me through whatever process I was inquiring about. They followed up with an email detailing our interaction, with the same instructions written out.
NEVER did I have to get passed to a different agent to get help. ALWAYS I have gotten the help I have needed... Truly amazing in this day and age. I actually am wowed by the services that Therapy Notes offers. Whomever is doing their company training is STELLAR because in my half century of work experience, I have not received CONSISTENTLY perfect service. (And I very rarely use the word PERFECT! ;)
Also, when there is an issue with the TherapyNotes program or technology, you are notified immediately as soon as you open the program. As well, Therapy Notes executives listen to their users, actually inviting suggestions, and then working to implement solutions quickly. On top of all that, they offer a Facebook group for users to chat with each other to gain ideas and expertise, with this group being monitored by TherapyNotes personnel, who do sometimes weigh-in on commentary for additional help.
I cannot say enough about such an excellent program, resource, company!!! Kudos for all you do to help all of us in the mental health industry.
Pros
24 hour customer service that is second to none!!
Cons
Lost one feature that they are working to bring back - Insurance Eligibility button.

Superior Customer Service
Exceptional customer service and an easy to use product with helpful features.
Pros
TherapyNotes has fantastic customer service. You may wait a few minutes to talk to a real person, but they are patient and kind and help you with issues (even those that are due to user error).
Also, TherapyNotes has made billing insurance and recording payments SUPER EASY. I don't think I would have continued on my own without this support!!!
Cons
I wish that TherapyNotes could bill secondary insurance providers and I would like to see more customization in the templates for notes.

Would not recommend
I don’t feel it’s a good EHR for larger practices. I feel like they aren’t able to keep up with the needs of them. Billing has been the most frustrating part which is unfortunate. If I could use a completely different system, I would. I would not recommend TherapyNotes based off billing alone.
Pros
Secure messaging was just added.
Customer service is very helpful and prompt when assistance is needed.
Cons
Billing, billing billing. It’s not user friendly at all. Claim scrubbing isn’t as good as other services. Too many extra steps need to be taken to make corrections. No secondary claim billing. Slow about adding features. Secure messaging could be upgraded. Clients can schedule with anyone in the office and there is no option to change this. Did I mention billing?

So many good things. Consistent industry leader
Whenever I call, I get great support from kind, knowledgeable people.
Pros
They keep adding more features to make the platform robust and meeting all of our practice needs.
Cons
In the past, was quite frustrated with not being able to upload client insurances cards, ROIs, and and not having built in patient messaging, but all of these issues have been addressed.

Why I Recommend TherapyNotes
I procrastinated in setting up TherapyNotes. However, they kept reaching out to me, offering to help me do that. I also have found that TherapyNotes, unlike other systems, is easily accessible by phone, with minimal wait times. They also have a robust library of "help" articles.
Pros
TherapyNotes is easy to use, with just the right options to make it ideal for everything from adding a client or clinician to the system, designating who has access to specific clients' records, selective individualized two-factor authentication, dropdown menus, and the ability to incorporate the text of previous notes into one's current note. I also like the ability to be able to easily upload and download documents.
Cons
The only think that TherapyNotes could do better, in my opinion, is create a subfolder system. All of the uploaded files appear in a column, and one can name the documents anything one wants. However, I would prefer that all of the uploaded documents of a particular type (e.g., assessments, progress notes, other notes) were in separate folders.

Good product, good support and good price
I have been very pleased with product overall. Recent "improvements" to Telehealth platform have created connection and sound related issues for clients and myself.
Pros
Well integrated product that is relatively easy to implement and use.
Cons
Some of documentation/charting workflows are rigid and To Do list personalization is limited.

Love it, would not go with any other program
Absolutely love therapy notes. One stop shop for everything now if only, I could integrate payroll in it, that would be great.
Pros
Clear, communication, helpful and always there to answer questions and get issues resolved. Platform is ever evolving.
Cons
At times, there may be glitches in the system or unexplainable errors that are expected for computer-based programs

Excellent, all-inclusive mental health EHR
Pros
--Common-sense layout, features, etc.
--Excellent, personable customer service
--Includes all the features I could want
Cons
--Consistency and reliability of the telehealth they provide is inconsistent (sometimes the client or I have difficulty figuring out how to correct problems with logging on, audio, visuals that freeze up or are extremely pixelated, etc., despite me paying a bit extra for "high definition" telehealth)
--I wish that more things were customizable (and that those which are customizable were more easily customizable)...though I would point out that TherapyNotes has made huge strides with improving this over the last six months

Feel like a human
Every time I have ever called, the staff has always been so helpful, never making me feel that because I do not understand that I am less than, but walking me through.. so I can explain to the providers their accounts, helping the providers become successful.
Pros
There are several things I love about Therapy Notes
I love the support team, they never shame me as I am working through clients account
I love that the system allows me to set different prices, as what is collected on the session for example with a co insurance, that I do not have to go back in and change it
Cons
for me in the billing portion/ I don't have anything that I dislike

I am very happy with Therapy Notes.
Excellent! Every once in a while the text reminder function doesn't work and I wish there was a way to get that money back or prove it a reminder didn't send. Presently, however, they are working on that.
Pros
They make it easy for me to enter clinical notes as I can autofill where needed.
Cons
Recent changes to the interventions section.

Medical Records User
I've used lots of EMR/Charting, etc. programs, and Therapy Notes is the easiest, most comprehensive one yet! Support is great, too!
Pros
Easy to use, All-in-one use - scheduling, charting, Patient Portal, Deomographics, Billing Info!
Cons
I can't think of anything, other than maybe not being able to search certain criteria in specific formats, like DOB, address, or phone. But, that's not really been an issue, I just had to complete this box before I could submit my review! =)

Love Using TherapyNotes!
I've been using TherapyNotes since I opened my private practice and have been extremely happy with it, especially in the past couple of years since they added a telehealth platform and expanded the library of forms available for clients to complete on the portal.
Pros
Being able to do all of my scheduling, billing, claims and notes through one easy platform. Constant improvements being made by the TherapyNotes team keeps it up to date and relevant. Great, responsive customer service.
Cons
Extra charges for additional services, such as appointment reminders
