> AssetBolt is IT asset management software for teams that have outgrown a spreadsheet but do not want to deploy a full ITSM suite to solve an inventory problem.

Who it fits. Companies of roughly 10 to 1,000 employees running Jamf, Kandji or Intune, where one or two people carry responsibility for the device fleet and are also the people who have to produce evidence when an auditor asks. It fits organisations pursuing or maintaining SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and finance teams that need a depreciation and warranty view of the same hardware IT is managing.

How it works. An administrator creates a read-only API token in the MDM and pastes it into AssetBolt. The first sync runs in minutes and brings across the fleet with hardware specifications, OS version, encryption state and compliance status. After that, syncing runs on a schedule the team sets. Custody, purchase and licence data are layered onto those records, either entered directly or imported.

What it does not do. AssetBolt does not configure, enrol or manage devices. It is not a replacement for an MDM and does not compete with one. The MDM manages the device; AssetBolt manages the asset - the custody, financial and compliance layer that sits around it.

What teams use it for. Answering who holds which device and since when, without asking around. Producing an audit trail that cannot be edited after the fact. Tracking warranty and depreciation alongside technical data. Keeping accessories, spare stock and software licences in the same register as managed endpoints.
