# AmpSketch

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/555515/AmpSketch

> AmpSketch is a field documentation tool for existing electrical systems. It replaces the clipboard, the camera roll, and the two weeks of CAD that usually follow a site walk.

There are two ways into a project.

Map it. Walk the site with a phone or tablet. Snap each nameplate and the AI reads kVA, voltage, and trip ratings (or enter by hand). Link each piece to what feeds it as you go. The one-line diagram builds itself while you are still standing in front of the gear, so a missing connection shows up on site, not three days later at the desk.

Import it. If the building already has a one-line or riser diagram, even a bad scan of an old one, upload the PDF. AmpSketch reads the equipment, breakers, and feeders off the drawing, joins feeder tags to the schedule tables, and puts everything on the diagram flagged to be verified. Anything it cannot read comes in as an explicit unknown, never a guess. Then walk the site and confirm each item against what is really installed. The report shows how many pieces are field-verified.

Either way, you leave with the same deliverable: a clean one-line diagram with real auto-layout (feeders drop from the correct breaker, no crossings), an equipment schedule, panels pinned to a floor plan, NEC flags such as an undersized conductor against its breaker, and a PDF report. It also captures the breaker AIC, wire size, and trip settings an arc flash or coordination study needs downstream.

Who it is for: electrical PEs and MEP designers on facility retrofits, maintenance and safety leads doing walks, facility operations keeping as-builts current, and contractors documenting what is there before they change it.

Try the drawing engine first, free: ampsketch.com/one-line-tool is a browser one-line diagram tool with no signup. Same auto-layout engine as the app. Draw a one-line, export a PNG, and if it turns out to be a real building, bring it into AmpSketch.

Pricing is one number: $69 per user per month, or $690 per year. Free 14-day trial. Single-project unlock available for one-off deliverables. Built by a licensed Professional Engineer.
