# LayerNext

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/536374/LayerNext

> If your finance team is still manually keying supplier invoices, chasing down PO mismatches, or scrambling to close month-end because AP is the bottleneck, LayerNext was built for you.

LayerNext provides AI agents that automate accounts payable, invoice processing, and reconciliation end-to-end, working directly inside your existing ERP. No rip-and-replace. No IT project. No API required. If a human on your team can operate your ERP today, our agents can operate it on their behalf, including legacy and desktop systems like Epicor Eagle, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, and QuickBooks Desktop that modern AP tools simply cannot reach.

Who LayerNext is built for

LayerNext is purpose-built for mid-market distributors and operational businesses in industries like building materials, lumber, hardware, industrial supply, and agricultural supply. Companies running $30M to $250M in revenue with high invoice volumes, messy supplier documents, and finance teams that are stretched thin. If your current EDI or OCR plugin handles the clean invoices but your team still keys the long tail by hand, that is exactly the problem LayerNext solves.

How it works

The LayerNext AP agent reads incoming supplier invoices, including unstructured and messy documents your current tools struggle with, validates them, matches them to purchase orders, handles exceptions, posts entries into your ERP, and reconciles against bank feeds and statements. Your finance team approves every agent action before it is finalized, with a complete audit trail preserved at every step. You stay in control. The agent does the keying.

The result: your team stops doing manual data entry, invoice exceptions get resolved faster, PO and pricing mismatches get caught before you overpay, and month-end closes on time.

Why finance teams trust LayerNext

Unlike traditional AP automation tools that assume clean, structured documents and modern cloud ERPs, LayerNext is designed for the messy real world. Our agents reason through exceptions rather than following brittle scripts, which means they keep working even when invoice formats change or supplier documents are inconsistent. And because every output requires human approval during and after onboarding, finance leaders can verify results before extending trust, which is how cautious buyers actually adopt new technology.

Also available for small businesses

For founders and small business owners managing their own books in QuickBooks, LayerNext offers an AI CFO product that keeps books continuously closed in real time. Plans start at $79/month with a 7-day free trial, covering automated transaction categorization, bank reconciliation, cash flow visibility, and natural-language financial Q\&A on web and mobile.

Support and security

Every plan includes priority support. Pro, firm-tier, and enterprise customers receive dedicated onboarding. Enterprise pilots include direct founder and engineering involvement throughout the pilot window. LayerNext uses bank-grade encryption, Auth0 authentication, and secure connections to financial systems. The platform does not sell customer data to third parties.

## Reviews

### "Huge time saver for massive invoice volumes" — 5.0/5

> **Altin** | *31 July 2026* | Computer & Network Security | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Im the accounting coordinator for a fast growing software dev team and we process litterally hundreds to thousands of invoices every single month. Before LayerNext we were drowing in manual entry for all our daily AP and AR stuff. The AI is actually insane at pulling data from random pdfs and reciepts without me having to type it all out line by line. It catches duplicate bills too which is a huge deal when your dealing with so many recurring SaaS subscriptions and contractor invoices. It honestly saves me hours every week and keeps our AP pipeline moving smoothly so vendors get paid on time.
>
> **Cons**: It can sometimes get really slow and bogged down on massive 50-page usage invoices from our main cloud providers occassionally it just times out and I have to re-upload them. The reporting dashboard can be better.
>
> Overall its been a really great experience. As the person actually doing the day to day data entry and reconciliation, this has made my job way less stressful.
