# M4PAM

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/511050/M4PAM

> Mamori M4PAM is a privileged access management (PAM) module that goes further than typical PAM tools: it extends identity-based access controls all the way into the database, not just the server. Every RDP, SSH, and database session is tied to a verified individual through SSO and 2FA, so there's no shared password sitting in a vault waiting to be stolen or reused.

Most PAM vendors stop at the operating system. They secure who can reach a server, but once someone is inside, database access still runs on shared local credentials nobody can trace to a person. That gap is why well-funded, audited organizations still get breached even after buying PAM. Closing it is why some Mamori customers have cut compliance certification timelines from years to months.

Built for: Database administrators and IT security teams tired of managing shared service accounts and chasing down who ran what query, along with CISOs and compliance managers who need audit-ready evidence for ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar frameworks. It works whether you already run a PAM tool or have none at all.

What sets it apart:

- Extends privileged access down to the database: row, column, and table-level policy, not just server login
- A built-in SQL/NoSQL firewall blocks specific commands like bulk deletes or exports, by role or policy
- Data masking hides sensitive fields from unauthorized users automatically, revealed only with approval
- Every RDP, SSH, and database session is recorded and playable, with a full who/what/when/where trail
- On-demand access: users request what they need, an approver grants it, and it expires automatically instead of piling up as an unused, forgotten account
- No agents, no client-side software, and no changes to your existing databases or servers

Singapore Pools used M4PAM to close a gap in their existing PAM, adding 2FA, role-based policies, and full session recording for external vendor access. Meetings that used to take an hour now take 40 minutes, and vendors no longer need to carry a second laptop just to connect.

Support includes documentation at doc.mamori.io, dedicated support for the free tier, and a live walkthrough with the Mamori team before you deploy.

Start free at mamori.io/free-pam-solution, or book a sales call at mamori.io/appointment.

### "Reliable PAM that's easy to manage" — 5.0/5

> **Khairul** | *5 October 2026* | Financial Services | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Mamori M4PAM has made managing server access much simpler for our team. Before, we relied on direct SSH, which made it hard to keep track of who accessed what and when. Now all access goes through one place, and every session is recorded, so we always have a clear audit trail.

Setup was straightforward and did not take long. Once it was running, day-to-day management became easy. Adding users, assigning access and reviewing sessions can all be done from the web portal without much effort.

Security is a big plus. MFA and role-based access give us confidence that only the right people can reach our servers. The policies are flexible, so we can control access in a way that fits how our team works.

Session recording is also very useful. If something goes wrong, we can look back and see exactly what happened. This helps a lot during audits and internal reviews.
>
> **Cons**: There is a learning curve at the start. Some settings, especially the access policy rules, did not work the way I expected at first. It took some testing and trial and error before I fully understood how they behave.
>
> Overall, my experience with M4PAM has been positive. It has changed the way our team handles server access for the better.
