## Reviews

### "Great for keeping track of online resources (free version)" — 4.0/5

> **Ema** | *16 October 2023* | Writing & Editing | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Diigo is very straightforward: you can save URLs and (online) PDFs to your library and export the lists. You can add comments to the bookmark and tag it, and highlight text on a page and annotate it. You can easily export the bookmarks with annotations as CSV, or the app will prepare a table/list for you to email, copy, or put in a blog post.
>
> **Cons**: It can be a bit clunky and mouse-dependent (hard to use with only keyboard), and I can't edit the bookmarks in a spreadsheet/database-style interface. I'm using the free version so I can only search by tag, not by keyword (even in the bookmark titles).
>
> I wanted a tool to easily collect bookmarks, label/tag them, and search/select and export bookmarks. Diigo was the one that best fit the bill. Certainly worth a try.

### "Reliable, stable, great feature set." — 5.0/5

> **Dawn** | *13 August 2021* | Marketing & Advertising | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Works. Always works. Never fails. Never down. Never changes. Secure. Stable. Fast.
Save links. With descriptions. Add tags. Sort. Search. Highlight. Add notes to pages. Save and highlight PDFs. Saves images, screenshots and probably more that I am forgetting to mention.
>
> **Cons**: I wish there were more category saving features such as folders. Tags are the only option.
>
> I've tried everything on the market over the years. Diigo earned its keep in my paid subs as the most stable, feature packed, easy to use. I take notes, save clips and use it cross platform.

### "Cool idea, not super modern or user-friendly" — 3.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *14 April 2020* | Public Relations & Communications | Recommendation rating: 3.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I did like how Diigo can attach as a browser extension making it easier to bookmark things at times (I have chrome). I liked how you are able to highlight specific parts on the texts or websites. You can even annotate them which is nice. You can tag the highlights and bookmarks, but I didn't do this often.
>
> **Cons**: I had to download this for a class to see how we liked it... I didn't. I feel like the design is out of touch and I don't feel like I would use a lot of the element of the app like posting to different boards and discussions if it wasn't for a class. I like sleek designs and user-friendly software and I simply just don't really enjoy using it.
>
> While Diigo has certain elements that may be helpful for certain people, I don't see myself implementing it into my work or everyday life.

### "It's quite handy and useful" — 4.0/5

> **Hjalmar** | *25 September 2018* | Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Recommendation rating: 6.0/10
>
> **Pros**: The features it offers to collect articles and text snaps from the web and pdf are quite nice and can be really useful. The outliner and "live" annotation and capturing tool are great. It's helpful to organize your "web-based" knowledge collection. Mobile as well.
>
> **Cons**: The design is not really friendly and modern and the outliner functionality as well as the organization of the different topics could be improved, for exapmle through a folder structure.
>
> As said before it is really handy. Nice to have an article view.

### "Powerful bookmarking and research, tool, but maybe too powerful for its own good." — 4.0/5

> **Rick** | *15 September 2017*
>
> **Pros**: I'd been using diigo consistently for several years, primarily for bookmarking and list-making, until Pocket came along with its one-click-to-save feature. I set up an IFTTT recipe, however, to continue backing up bookmarks to diigo as well, and I've gone back to it every once in a while to re-evaluate its use-value for me. I never stick with it for long. There's a powerful feature set, however, and diigo should be on any researcher's short list of tools to evaluate.
>
> **Cons**: Most of diigo's research tools are of little value to me as I would rather have one workspace with everything related to one topic easily accessible and organized, and collaboration-ready. Something like Dropbox Paper. Perhaps this is due to how I work. Adding outliners and phasing out lists makes a kind of sense but using outlines on the web is clumsy at best at the moment. diigo looks a little primitive as well right now without any sort of messaging or chat system for teams.
