There's no better solution than jira at the moment
I use it for about 6-7 years and it sill gets better. JIRA is a pioneer in the product management filed. You can use different solution, but JIRA is the most frequently chosen tool.
Pros
Comprehensive sets of tools every Product Owner / Product Manager needs.
Professional, frequently updated, solid tool to manage stories/tasks/bugs and so on.
In brief summary:
- Task fields customization
- Integration with BitBucket (I can easily see what task has been deployed to stage/prod, and what needs to be deployed)
- Integration to slack/google chat that alerts me when deployment has crashed
- Timesheet integration to manage hours spent on a given task
- Confluence integration, where we set our working agreement document, and knowledge base
Cons
Sometimes crash or gets slow, but it happens veeery occasionally. So don't take it as a real disadvantage
Reasons for Switching to Jira
More comprehensive, more accessible tools to use right away, more common in support/IT teams- Industry: Computer Software

Good enough for if you're already using Atlassian, but otherwise - no
If you're in the Atlassian ecosystem, it's convenient to use. If you're not, and looking for a project management tool - there are many other options that are likely better for the price. Purchasing Jira separately to me only makes sense for small businesses with less than 10 users on it's lowest plan.
Pros
I was on an Enterprise plan via Atlassian, and didn't have the highest expectations for Jira - but I learned to love it. The UI isn't the greatest, but it's not bad for the price. Functionality-wise it's not far off from an Asana in terms of tagging and timelines. I like how they took from Confluence's UI to in the boards to help visualize tasks better.
Cons
It's just not enjoyable to use, and your project management tool is something you need to enjoy using everyday. I think it's the UI. It feels cold. Everything is easy to use because it's natural UI, but it's not fun to use and my team agrees.
Alternatives Considered
AsanaReasons for Switching to Jira
We actually started with Jira in the marketing team, and decided to switch to Asana completely. I still needed to use Jira though, because I was part of the product team who used it as well. There's plans to transition completely out of Jira for product as well however, so only our developers will use it.- Industry: Information Technology & Services

The project management tool for anything & everything
To me, Jira has a very intuitive user interface and can be used pretty much for everything that could be a project. I also like that "everything is an issue" setup.
Pros
Jira is the perfect project management tool for me. It has very much customization options for projects to perfectly match what I want to achieve.
I like the different project types and the templates, they are useful to just get started. It also integrates perfectly in Confluence and other Atlassian products.
Cons
The Web interface is a bit slow, especially when navigation much through different tasks. Although the mobile app is super clean, there are some missing features overall.
Reasons for Switching to Jira
Each of these products had some missing features or was overprices for what I use. Some of them also were too complicated to setup and/ or use.- Industry: Computer Software

Jira, an already powerful project management tool you can power up even further.
At the start it's intimidating due to the huge amount of tools it offers, but once you figure them out it becomes a very useful tool with tons of options and the ability to customize things to best accommodate your team and automate the management process.
Pros
Incredibly complete and robust project management tool. Has basically everything, and gives you the ability to power things up even further by programming custom logics, both inside the tool and outside, by using its API.
Cons
Figuring out which template works best, and what are their differences, can take a while.

Jira Comprehensive IT ticket system
Fairly simple to use but back end configuration can be complicated
Pros
Comprehensive options when configuring the help desk for IT including SLAs etc
Cons

Jira: excellent app for service management
It's a powerful tool for IT teams, offering robust features for managing service requests and incidents with efficiency. While the learning curve and pricing may pose challenges, its integration capabilities and automation have changed the way I interact with customers and partners
Pros
centralized platform for managing IT service requests, incidents, and changes. Its integration with other Atlassian tools enables streamlined workflows and team collaboration. The platform's customizable dashboards, automated workflows, and robust reporting features enhance efficiency, while its user-friendly interface simplifies issue tracking and resolution for both agents and customers
Cons
It can feel overwhelming for new users due to its complexity and extensive customization options. Pricing may be a concern for smaller organizations, especially as the user base grows.
The mobile app is a mess :-)

Rigid, and not very customisable to cover all business functions, okay for developers
Pros
Jira is good if you want visibility into the projects, the progress and pace and which a project is moving, risks as well.
Cons
Jira is primarily designed for developers and delivery-focused teams, but today’s multidisciplinary teams require tools that go beyond delivery. We need solutions that seamlessly connect strategy, customer research, and proposition development with the people responsible for building and delivering those customer experiences. Compared to the new tools available, Jira feels pretty rigid—you can’t easily tweak fields or settings to fit the way different teams work

Jira is as much for teams as is Confluence; solos need not apply
As a sole practitioner, Jira made me want to branch out and hire support staff just so I could use the products Atlassian offers; however, it is a bit out of my budget at this time and seeing as it is useful for teams anyway, I discontinued my use.
Pros
I really like the entire Atlassian suite; it makes me wish I wasn't the only person on my team! I like that Jira offers a number of different views to organize information regarding whichever project or team you are working on. The timeline feature is very helpful for visualizing progress and goals. Finally, the automation feature appears very helpful for executing repetitive business/team functions
Cons
I was not a big fan of being the only user on any Atlassian product; they are definitely built for teams.

Jira - The top management platform
Overall I love it, it just works when you're working with a large teams. Latency is okay once you've gotten used to it.
Pros
Simplicities, templating, the ease of use / to deploy a new board & permission system is a breeze.
Cons
The time it takes to load the website on an unstable connection, it takes way longer than necessary since the UI is pretty bloated

Jira review for our company at Vanco media
My overall experience was amazing! We as a company are at a point where we cannot even operate without Jira on a daily basis. Its very time efficient, so it eliminates hours of work for us so we can get loads done
Pros
How efficient and how its so easy to use for our employees. And also the fact that it streamlines most of our difficult tasks that would usually take hours to do if we did not have Jira
Cons
There was not many cons than pros to be honest, infact there wasn't any cons at all! Everything was at the best quality
Reasons for Switching to Jira
I was attracted more towards the branding they have placed, and the fact that our employees voted to use Jira than most of the other alternatives. Jira was also recommended by a lot of my CEO friends- Industry: Computer Software

The world of software engineers through eye of Jira software tool.
Talking about my experience with gira since I am using jeera more than 5 years so I have positive experience with Jeera in case of project management and issue tracking perspective. I feel that jira is a great tool for cross team communication, if we have jira we does not required extra communication channels .
Jira can support any type of project and work with thousands of apps and integrations
Pros
I like jira most features like jeera integrate with variety of quality assurance apps like sonarqube, Jenkins etc.
Using jira software developer can customize Jara project with configurable and organisation structure work flow level of agility maturity.
Cons
As per my opinion the learning for work means within the jira it's difficult to learn especially for new users might be too complex. Personally I faced problem while uploading more number of files size issue as the limited file size upload.

Love Jira!
I really like Jira, it keeps everyone in the organization involved and accountable to their portion of work, and takes out the weight of trying to remember and write down everything that is needed from you. You can just login and refresh your mind!
Pros
Jira makes it very easy to make sure no aspects of a project are overlooked or skipped when moving with speed within our organization! Every step is documented and visible, keeping organization throughout time sensitive projects!
Cons
It took me a bit to understand the different dashboard views within Jira, jumping to see just my tasks, all projects I'm apart of, and kanban views. I know it well now, but I remember some initial frustrations with that when first learning the system

Still a great product that needs to clearly define it's course.
Jira is a great project management tool that we will keep using in the foreseeable future. It has, however, a growing number of shortcomings that, if not addressed, will lead to a migration to Linear.
Pros
- Great set of functionalities.
- Great automation.
- Fantastic integration with other tools.
Cons
- Team-managed and company-managed are an unnecessary distinction that create a lot of overhead and annoyance on the project management process.
- Team-managed projects have functionalities that are not present in company-managed projects and vice-versa.
- Lackluster documentation.

Perfect tool for managing your IT needs
Having worked with Jira for 10 years, I appreciate its powerful capabilities for project management and tracking. Its flexibility and extensive customization have made it invaluable, especially in complex projects.
Pros
I like most about Jira is its robust functionality for tracking tasks and managing projects, especially within Agile teams. The ability to create customizable workflows, track progress on Kanban or Scrum boards, and organize tasks with detailed labels, filters, and priorities makes it incredibly versatile.
Cons
I like least about Jira is that it can be quite complex and overwhelming, especially for new users. The interface has a steep learning curve, and navigating between different boards, projects, and settings can feel cumbersome. Customization options are powerful but can lead to confusion if not configured carefully. Additionally, Jira can sometimes feel slow or laggy with larger projects, impacting overall productivity.

Jira simplifies project management for teams.
On my own, I like Jira extensive issue tracking system. It lets me write thorough tickets that catch everything and hold my team accountable. I have not encountered many options with the ability to adapt processes to our project.
Pros
Jira stands out because it can be customized to almost any project management methodology. This has greatly helped my team's particular process needs. These are better than most reporting solutions I've used. I schedule sprints using their more detailed project statuses, velocity charts, and burn down metrics.
Cons
Though improved, the user experience still feels strange and slow, which bothers me when working.

Jira is a great team communication tool once it's set up correctly
It's a great tool once the customization has been worked out to suit the business and team needs.
Management had to get involved to make using this tool a requirement. Users hate change.
Pros
Dashboard representation. Once the customization has been set up, the maintenance of stories and moving them through the stages is easy.
Cons
Takes a while to set up and customize to get the Project stages correct. Not intuitive.

Track, collaborate, integrate CI/CD platforms in an agile environment using Jira
I have been using it for 4 years in a row now and the experience has been immersive. It is the first thing I use while beginning my day at work. I track the tasks at hand and begin working with higher priority items. It is simpler to use over a period of time and easily checkout branches in github using the commands specified in the Jira UI. I am a current user of Jira and it has improved a lot over years and it is just the way I want my agile project to be tracked, collaborate on a team level and achieve milestones
Pros
I like the concept of agile sprint management which Jira is designed for. I like the way tasks are arranged on the Jira task board. It has a way of defining sprint points for each task which helps enables the team and stakeholders to identify the resource consumption and time taken to deliver the story. It also enables me to track the progress of my own tasks on an individual level and collaborate on a team level. It comes with integration with CI/CD tools like github as well
Cons
The linking of tasks to current sprint can be more simpler. Also initial learning of this platform takes some time if you are from a non technical background. The UI has scope of improvement, can be more modular
