Simplicity of process and integration of resources in one program.
All in all, we conclude that Confluence is a really helpful software when it comes to project management within a team. For that reason, I believe that the key advantage of is simplicity and the ability to edit it in collaboration with others simultaneously.
Pros
The best aspect of Confluence that I have found is that it is really easy to use and very friendly. This software is very convenient for use by anyone, including the first time user of this kind of applications. I also like the potential of making and editing content that is shared and I also believe that communication as well as teamwork are enhanced.
Cons
But the thing that I did not like most is that I sometimes get the feeling that the tool is rather limited in what it does allow me to change. I want more configuration possibilities, so that it would be possible to fit the software to the needs of my workshop.

Confluence - great application documentation tool
Confluence is being used by various software application teams and my experience has been great with documenting solution documents.
Pros
Confluence is a great tool to write software applications documentations, organize them in Team folder, having pages, whiteboards, Database of related documents grouped together. Easy to search and write structured contents with great formatting.
Cons
Its easy to create tables in confluence pages. But its hard to control the table formatting which comes with default template and size. There can be more technical symbols and drawing features.

Would not recommend to use it in the SaaS version
It is working most of the time, with several outages in the past months.
We were forced to migrate from the on-prem to the SaaS version. The on-prem version was very good, the SaaS software is a mess in terms of ensuring information security and has way worse usability.
Pros
Concurrent editing is still possible in the SaaS version.
Cons
Has advertisements for other products in the menu.
You have no sufficient control over the 3rd party features the users can see and use.
It's a nightmare to document its use according to GDPR rules.

Great tool for documentation and collaboration
I've been a user and administrator of confluence for 15 years. I've scaled it up from 200 users in a department to over 25000 users across an entire organisation.
Pros
Confluence is a well established, feature rich, easy to use and highly scalable collaboration tool. It makes writing and sharing documentation very easy. There is a vast library of (mostly paid for) plugins that can customise the experience.
Cons
It's expensive and the plug in system ramps up the cost considerably as well. Plugins have a habit of launching for free but after some time they start charging.
(usually shortly after you realise it's indispensable). They make it hard to remove and replace plugins.
Th search facility is not configurable and heavily weights results to more recent documents.

Seamless Documentation
Pros
What I liked most about Confluence is its seamless collaboration features. The real-time editing and comment functionalities make it incredibly easy for my team to work together on documentation. The integration with other Atlassian tools like Jira adds even more value.
Cons
One thing which felt hard for me while using confluence is to find docs from different spaces when too many spaces and docs are there. I think the main reason is that it would take time to arrange and keep the docs in correct places and name it correctly.

A Powerful Collaboration Tool for Teams Using Atlassian
It is a great tool for teams already in the Atlassian ecosystem. Though the free features are limited, Its integration with other Atlassian tools like Jira makes it a great product.

Robust Content Management Tool with lots of potential
Overall, it is a great tool with really great features and different capabilities that have allowed my team to really lean into content management. Would recommend this to other companies!
Pros
Confluence is our go-to content management and knowledge based tool. The ability to create spaces by team or departments is really useful and my favorite feature is the ability to give permission by page instead of just by space. We have a main team focused on maintaining our knowledge base, but it's helpful that we can also assign unique individuals who are subject matter experts to also help that team update the content.
Cons
At times it feels like Confluence may be a bit too robust. It's a great content management system, but can sometimes over complicate a search for a particular page. It can take some time to locate the page you are looking because so many results pop up. You have to weed through the results to find the one you're seeking.

As a user and an admin what do i like or dislike
great go do business tool and used industry wide, has issues such as very slow support and lack of features which can be expanded with costly plugins
Pros
the ability to control used access is great and to manage different spaces for different situations. we have also been able to use confluence to drive content on hosted web sites driven from confluence spaces with the help of plugins
Cons
plugins are costly, and to make full use you need to use them. These seems to be charged based on how many users you have in confluence rather than how many who would use the plugin. this makes it expansive and there is no way of restricting a plugin to a user group

Usefulness of confluence in our organization
Overall confluence is an helpful application as it supports various devices and also provide data security for our data stored in there. It is a useful documentation and knowledge tool and easy to use in general.
Pros
Enables user to publish, store and share different content in the space. We use this to store our product and implementation related documentation which is helpful for new employees who join the team or revisit old methods. Blogs can be published shared with specific access and share with features such as likes, comments etc.
Cons
Navigation is somewhat difficult and causes confusion at times as we have many team and many branches, sub-branches, libraries it gets harder to navigate. Access controls are limited in customisations.

Confluence - User Knowledge base
I do not find myself going back to our knowledge base very often because I am typically part of the initial user training on new products and I take my own notes, But that is the beauty of the product. Even after long gaps in using the software I am able to go back into it and be productive and that is what I want in a knowledge base tool.
Pros
Its ease of use and low barriers of entry
Cons
Confluence is just a little different in how it accomplish a task, when compared to SharePoint, which means that a user well versed in SharePoint may struggle a little more than a newbie, just because they need to unlearn a few processes, which often makes those long term SharePoint users a little disenchanted by the product, but once they get over the learning curve, user acceptance on the product is very high.

Confluence makes knowledge sharing easy
It is a great solution to our knowledge sharing problems. We use it like an intranet to house policies, updates, documents and calendars in one central spot and it has worked really well in helping employees find the information they need without having to ask
Pros
It is a really quick and easy way to share knowledge share documents and collaborate with your team. It enables us to inform our whole business of processes in a streamlined way
Cons
The UI can be difficult to figure out. Features arent necessarily where you would expect them and I think more work could be done around organizing folders and pages
