Simple and Effective System
We enjoy using it overally and have had very few challenges with the system. Where we have had any challenges, the support we receive is excellent, quick and thorough.
The system is easy to learn and any new members of the team catch on pretty quickly.
It helps make our bookings quick and easy.

It is user friendly, straight to the point and detailed.

Nothing really comes to mind at the moment.

My opinion
I'm very negative regarding Semper.
I find their accounting side totally unpractical and difficult for non-accounting people to use.
None of the info on reports is trustworthy or easy to categorize. Settings need to be changes again and again and again and one user's settings gets pulled over to all users.
Pros
I can log in remotely - that is the only thing remotely positive regarding Semper.
To be fair... the previous system probably also have this option and it would probably be more streamlined than Semper's but never had need to use it before we switched to Semper
Cons
Data 100% unreliable and everything needs to be double checked.
A HUGE problem if you try to pull an annual report.

Shell Lodges
Good, I do believe however, there is some fine tuning to do with regards to semper and Knightsbridge links as we are experiencing a lot of over bookings which comes through from Knightsbridge and does not allow us to accommodate the Guests on the Semper calendar.

Does everything one needs for an establishment.

the online version is very slow - would be great if the speed could be increased.
however, nice and modern and very user friendly.

Looking forward to the next upgrade!
It's a 7/10. It's definitely a better experience than Microsoft ;-) - our only frustration at the moment is the outdated conferencing system.
Pros
Easy to use and intuitive - does everything we need in one system.
Cons
Waiting for the new conference system! We're looking forward to the upgrade but have not been given an ETA.

General Product review
Generally good experience to-date but I know that Semper is aimed more at the Hotel and B&B industry and thus certain parts of the product do not apply to Caravan Resorts
Pros
The product is very "User Friendly". I am a relatively new user and thus I am learning every day as to what the product has to offer. I am inquisitive by nature and I am always looking for new methods to achieve the results we require. Generally the support we get from the Semper Help-Desk is very good.
Cons
I have not had any negative experiences to-date or cannot state what I do not like as I still have to get to know the product in more detail.

Not user friendly
I've used other POS systems and Semper is one of the least user friendly
steps are not simple
does not take into account the pressure from waiters side in processing orders as it takes very long and becomes frustrating to use - wastes time in waiting for simple tasks to be completed (e.g. waiting for the text box to open, merging a table, splitting a table etc.)
No easy to follow User Manual for Semper Conference especially. It's difficult to understand how to use the various functions, e.g. function sheet etc. (not activated on our side)

Extremely User Friendly and Great Support

I have worked with Semper at Multiple Properties around South Africa and even opted to have Semper implemented in Botswana. I would not use any other PMS in future.
Cons
In my opinion I have not yet found any fault with Semper in order to advise on any improvements required.

The system is good for small independent hotels, It serves the daily needs of reservations, front office and housekeeping and accounting.
Pros
Dashboard has an easy to use format and everything you need in one place.
Cons
The reporting does not support easy revenue management and analysis.Semper channel manager only connects with limited otas, which is restrictive.

We are extremely happy with the system and the support is exceptional.
