Revit best software for AEC industry
I have been using Revit for over 15 years and have watched how it has grown and mor
Pros
Revit is an all encompassing BIM modeling program. It is great for generating models for a project that also translates to rendering/animation/VR, plans, details, elevations, sections, schedules and sheets. There is so much you can do with Revit and so many add-ons that make this program the premier program for the AEC industry.
Cons
I do not like that you can not go back version of Revit, meaning if a project is started in 2024 year version, you can not open that model in 2023 year version.

Great software, poor design choices
A potent base software that must be customized to be optimal because the bare version ain't cutting it
Pros
It's an easy to learn platform with amazing capabilities for coworking on modeling a building (coordination is much better than autocad)
Cons
Lots of basic functionnalities that should be a given are really lacking (a real dark mode for instance or the ability to link drafting views)

Complicate algorithm lead to lot of problems
I have few experience with Architectural model since I am a mechanical engineer. moderate experience in MEP drawing, but enough experience in families which I hate in Revit. Also I have 6 months in programming with Revit using C#, and I found the object oriented classes and objects are interfered to infinity (as I guess) where it can be in easy way, this core issues lead to the complication in Revit especially as I think, in families the procedures start to solve the parameters in a way lead to unsatisfied solution where it run properly.
Pros
Working without families, has few problems in piping connection especially (as mechanical). I think as from Architectural side few problems we have (such fix the model automatically for epsilon of errors), I create an add-ins using C# to fix this and find errors of an Architectural model or mechanical spaces.
Cons
The illogical behavior of some functions in families and contradictions, even in 3D presentation with thin metal sheets.

High Level Renderings 2D and 3D
Great! Used in collaboration with architects on a project as the interior designers.
Pros

Efficient and reliable software as an Architect.
A solid contender to other Architecture software. Well built up software!
Pros

Revit for Structural Steel design
Overall, the use of Revit has been a very valuable and useful tool to the organization. We have been have able to visualize and model products for take-offs and quotes effectively.
Pros
the ability to create our own families for our products and quickly produce drawings parametrically.Implementing has been a pretty easy process. But like a set of legos with many ways to assembly. We are always striving to best develop the best process and practices for long term use.
Cons
We wish Revit was a combination of Advanced Steel and Revit. Even thou this is not the best practice for this type of software, our new users are adjusting to new techniques and practices based on Revit and BIM modeling.

Revit the best yet the worst!
Overaly, its a good software. its just too bulky, and too difficult to learn, and the UI is too old school. other than that , it does deliver
Pros
Revit provides a platform were different diciplines in contruction can work together simultaneously i.e an architect and an enigineer dont need to change softwares to wokr on rhe same project , everything all of then need is in the software .
2. Revit is morden, and provides all necesary tools for a morden architect, engineer or designer.
3. Of all BIM software , revit has the most support from different partners. it has the largest stick of assets on the market
Cons
1. its too bulky.
2. It has the stepest learning curve
3. the user interface is a mess, it still resembles ancient softwares like autocard. Archicad is more morden and easy to use compared to revit
4. the controls in the software are quite a work around

Best for MEP
Pros
Revit gives engineers and architects with a variety of benefits. Because of how well it integrates with the BIM concept, many of these advantages are obtained.
Cons
Interior designers might experience frustration. This is because of the fact that Revit is not the most user-friendly program when it comes to working on building interiors from a different perspective.

Revit for civil engineers
Pros
As I think, this is the most popular BIM software in the worlds. As a civil engineer mainly worked with architectural designs, 3d modeling, scheduling etc. But other than that this software allows to do structural analysis, energy modeling, scheduling and costing etc. Anyway very useful and user friendly software for the people working in engineering practices.

revit is a complete software for engineers
if you are an engineer working on a project and you what every detail to be in order this is the software for you but this in mind that revit is suitable for carves , domes and abstract projects .
Pros
if you are looking for a software to connect your architects , civil engineers and mechanical engineers together this is the best software for you. if you work properly with the software it gives you the smalls detail you need , from wall sections to pluming and etc.
Cons
revit isn't user friendly software or in other words you need to take courses and classes to get a hang of it . revit isn't one of those software that you just open up and start to work with ! its a professional software and and it take a bit more effort than just installing it on your computer .

Revit is the greatest approach to learn about building information modeling.
Overall, Revit was a significant improvement over its predecessors, such as AutoCAD. Revit has a lot of capabilities and is rather simple to master once we get the feel of it. I strongly advise all Civil Engineers to take advantage of Revit.
Pros
The abundance of options provided by Revit is incredibly beneficial and makes it simple to design complex structures.
Cons
Revit is far too expensive for professional use. The sole means to get a free complete version of Revit is for prospective students.

Easiest design software for both CAD and 3d MOdelling
Revit has helped take the space planning work to a whole new level and also has boosted productivity and turn around times for providing 3D plans to the clients.
Pros
The ease of making plans in 3D is unparalleled and far superior to others. It is very easy to make 2D/3D plans and also apply finishes from the inbuilt library.
Cons

The architecture and construction industry standard BIM software for a reason.
I often hear that people either love or disdain Revit in the architecture profession, but even with it's downsides there is a reason it is the industry standard for BIM because of its vast menu of capabilities.
Pros
Revit has many integrated features as a BIM software that makes difficult tasks on prior CAD software seem simple and finally attainable.
Cons
Where Revit is rich in feature based options and 'type based' sequencing, it can also feel too formulaic at times when needing to focus on the design side of a project.

Revit has no Competition
Very Happy with this Software. No other Softwares come close to Revit with the amount of functionality that it provides.
Pros
Revit is the best software when it comes to producing a full set of construction drawings. Revit works with 3D components so once you create a Model, you can acquire the plans, elevations and sections from that Model. It is a very convenient and user friendly software. Additionally there are plenty of useful plugins such as Enscape where you can produce high quality renderings.
Cons

Revit is worth the time to learn to use
I am a decades long AutoCad user, switched to Revit in the last few years. The switch over was fairly simple. Working with models already created to manipulate them is quite intuitive, creating stairs, roofs and schedules is challenging.
Pros
The ease at which a building design can be changed, multiple ideas and concepts can be explored.
Cons

Cons
It struggles when importing geometry from non revit formats even if it is coming from the same ecosystem (autocad). It also needs to improve the topography

I believe that Revit is so far the best program out there. Everyone can use it even without going to courses or classes. It's at everyone's reach either they are designer's or not. It suits beginners and experts.
Pros
Revit is one of the easiest yet practical programs out there for architects and interior designers. Its very easy and we can say forward and straight to the point. having to draw either 2d's,3d's, details drawings, etc. is very doable even if you don't have a great experience with it. It helps you from the first year of collage until even working on you first job.
Cons
What i least like about Revit is the outcome of the final renders are not always with high quality even when you change the settings to the best, yet sometimes it turns out not as good as you need. The lighting and it's settings are as well a but complicated either the sun light settings or even the illumination of any lighting fixture you add.
