Helpful once you figured it out....
Carelogic took quite some time to figure out, but was fairly helpful once I had been using it for a month or two. Compared with other similar software I have utilized in other businesses, it was definitely better organized. However, even after working with it for over year, occasionally I would come across an issue while trying to document something that I could not figure out, nor could any of my co-workers. Overall, I would use this product again, but i would make sure to keep the customer-service contact close-at-hand.
Pros
Carelogic does a good job meeting the extensive requirements for documentation that mental health professionals must maintain on a daily basis on each of their clients. It assists with scheduling and tracking client appointments, and it's search option for various client documents it easy to use. On several occasions when I have had issues figuring out how to access a client's past file, Carelogic customer service was prompt in responding to emails about an issue.
Cons
My least favorite feature is that it (for whatever reason) did not do a good job tracking past clients and it was very difficult to search for past client documentation unless you remembered the exact name of the client. I had so many client on my caseload during the 15-16 months that I used this program, it was difficult to remember names and dates. I felt like there should have been a way to search for EVERY file with a particular clinician's signature. Also, trying to add an new admission for a previous client was a mess!

QOPC Carelogic Review
I think the implementation team is crucial to a successful setup. Some of our original team members were knew and did not have the knowledge to help guide us. There was a time when Qualifacts customer service was not at its best and we had many issues getting items resolved. Now the Customer Satisfaction Department seems to be doing great. We get accurate responses in a very quick manner. We also use another Qualifacts system Insync and I would recommend Carelogic if companies need a lot of tracking capability and Insync if they need more of a start up out of the box situation
Pros
The capabilities to track so much data in one place, the additional report creating options with BI and Pentahoe
Cons
You definitely need someone who understands databases and how everything links. This is not an out of the box setup and a lot of decisions go into setting it up. If you set it up wrong it will through off reports and billing. I think the billing piece is the most complex but if setup correctly it is amazing

Business Manager
Overall. Carelogic requires my team to do a lot of manual work. I can not trust the reporting that comes out of Carelogic so I have to go through the data manually. Also, another issue is the payers not being listed as primary, secondary, Tertiary, etc. This to causes issues with reporting.
When I open up tickets your teams wrong answers usually help lead me to the right ones... lately I have had good assistance and help. With Inpatient no one knows anything about.
Pros
I like the Outpatient EMR portion of Carelogic the most.
Cons
The Billing product in Carelogic is not the greatest. You can't enter a negative you have to use write up's which causes issues with secondary billing. Also the way Carelogic Handles Inpatient notes and coding is incorrect. Inpatient claims have to be coded in a whole in bill room and board claims not by the first note done. I think there needs to be a coding module added for inpatient claims and those are the codes that drop on the UB. The codes on the notes would drop on the physician charges.

Overall good experience
Overall, I feel QSI (and CareLogic) is moving in solid direction. My agency has used CareLogic long enough to know how to get the most out of it. While not a perfect system, CareLogic meets the needs of my agency.
Pros
I feel new management is more transparent vs past administrations, meaning I feel they truly understand areas that need improvement & are working to address. In short, I've been a CareLogic customer since 2008 and the company has come a long ways since then!!
I also like the virtual training opportunities that QSI makes available each month. I attend many of the BI webinars and gain something from each session.
Also like the Partnership groups, where I attend the Sys Admin & Reporting groups which I find helpful.
I feel Support is another area that has greatly improved thru the years. Now I feel a ticket has better chance of getting routed to somebody that's versed in the area. From all the times I've interacted with Support, I always find helpful & pleasant.
Cons
From my vantage point at least, CL still struggles with downtime (both scheduled & unscheduled) and post release bugs. Also, I know QSI is working on a client merge feature, but to not have this yet (as CareLogic is a mature platform) is unacceptable.
To pick up from above, scheduled downtime really hits 24/7 programs hard. Would be a ***huge*** help if QSI could get some kind of a parallel system to use while releases are pushed during scheduled downtime.

I am the Director of Finance, and in the beginning, it was a bit difficult. It seemed the everyone was new and learning. It has gotten so so much better now.
Pros
I love all of the flexibility it has for billing and client options.
Cons
The Staff Per Diem issues and the Duplicate client activities that can't be stopped. I have to have a second eye review each billing for duplicate client charges.

I would recommend this EHR for Behavioral Health programs.
I have found CareLogic easy to work in. The staff and help team are responsive when it is within their power to help. I am very pleased with the product as compared to other EHRs we have worked in.
Pros
The system is modern and configurable. It allows us to manage workflows and easily maintain client records, scheduling, and billing.
Cons
While there are a lot of resources and technology available, many of the features are available at an additional cost.

Great Platform!
Overall, CareLogic is a great platform to use for Behavioral Health. I use it for the revenue cycle and it really is very helpful and very user friendly. It has everything I need, but if there's something I'm needing data for, there is definitely a report for whatever I need.
Pros
I like that once you learn the system, it is very user friendly and has a lot of great aspects to help you navigate.
Cons
The thing I like the least would have to be that you can't have a lot of multiple tabs open at one time if you're trying to multitask.

CareLogic is falling behind it's competitors
CareLogic has been a very good first EHR for our agency and we have learned a lot about what is possible from a measuring outcomes to employee performance measures. However, the support is lacking and everything has a price tag. It feels very much like everything CareLogic does is just finding a new way to charge more money and it's not about solving challenges or upgrading the product to keep up with changes and growth in the environment.
Pros
I believe CareLogic offers an end user friendly platform. Generally speaking the clinical staff appreciate how the work flows follow a logical sequence.
Cons
It's difficult to extract meaningful data without an IT department that is knowledgeable of sequel databases. The canned reports are okay but too often do provide what you think your looking at really simply attributes such as basic demographic information is difficult to acquire. For all of the advancements in behavioral health, CareLogic is falling behind and any integration or advancements come with very large price points. Qualifacts is notorious for failing to deliver on promises made and almost never meets the timelines they agree to keep.

A Comprehensive Review of Qualifacts CareLogic
I see Qualifacts CareLogic to be a powerful tool for managing behavioral health and human services. Its extensive features and customization options are beneficial for meeting diverse organizational needs.
Pros
What I like most is its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features designed for behavioral health and human services.
Cons
Qualifacts CareLogic can have a steep learning curve, particularly for new users who may find the system complex.

Positive review with some concerns regarding the MAR
Overall we have had a positive experience and I would like to continue using this EHR system and look forward to upcoming product releases.
Pros
I like how customizable it is, so we can configure programs and documents to fit our individual needs. The treatment plan and schedule and the ability to create configurable forms work very well for us.
Cons
The MedPass window frequently has issues. In the last year we have had 3 major issues of a pop-up error message that would interrupt med pass, Medications not synching between DrFirst and the MAR that was determined to be due to data stored in inactive staff names, meds not synching again that had to do with character limits in data fields on the back end, and now PRNs being removed from the MAR despite being active.

CareLogic
I liked it. Not a popular thought I know as most I've worked with that used it didn't like it at all. I thought it was effective and user friendly.
Pros
It had its glitches at first. It was one of the easier EHR software I've used. I liked that you could see your client list and this made it easy to update and keep this refreshed. Adding documents to the files was easy as well.
Cons
When changes were made, it seemed as though these were done w/out the inclusion of a therapist/someone who would actively be using it.

Happy with CareLogic
We are pleased with our overall CareLogic experience. We had a great implementation team and have a strong network of users across the state/country. Qualifacts continues to grow the system based on feedback from users and is trending in the right direction for healthcare.
Pros
CareLogic offers a lot of flexibility and customization options to fit the needs of the individual agency. It allows for configurations to process claims for varying funding sources. It is staff friendly and easy to navigate. From a System Admin perspective, onboarding is well supported and the User Community is strong. State meetings and annual conferences are informative and great for networking.
Cons
There are extra costs and limitations to information sharing across systems (HIE). Currently the patient portal is weak, however, their roadmap includes a comprehensive patient portal for 2023. Since it is not available I cannot comment on the efficiency of the portal but hope that a good third party product is selected. This will come at an additional cost though.

Overall very good and highly customizable EHR, reporting can be an issue for non-IT staff
Pros
This is fairly intuitive software, with normal learning curve for an average user. There are lot of options to customize system to fit your needs.
Designing forms is easy and there are lot of pre-configured forms and reports. Qualifacts community is a good source to ask questions and look for the help. Qualifacts Support is very responsive and most of the issues get resolved fast.
Pre-built reports in Carelogic are great, however they can be better. For example multiple selection option for report filters is missing. Sometimes I just need to run report for 4 or 5 organizations or programs at once, but I can only do either one or all at the same time. And for the reports I designed in Pentaho I was able to implement multiple selection, so it is possible to do it.
Cons
Most of the training videos need update. There are some videos where you can barely see what is on the screen due to the very low resolution. Some of the videos are just too long (2+hr) and they should be separated in smaller segments.
Pentaho (used for reporting ) is very complex system and in my opinion there is not enough training videos in the Qualifacts community. Especially for advanced reports and analytics that use functions and formulas. This can be a nightmare for someone without prior SQL experience, and overall I just think there are no enough resources online for Pentaho. "Pentaho 5.0 Reporting by Example: Beginner’s Guide" book was huge help to me.
Also when deploying multiple versions of the same form, it creates new tables in the database and this means that all of the custom reports using that configurable form have to be made again if that particular configurable form was edited.

An acceptable EHR
CareLogic is the EHR (electronic health record) system that my company went live with in 2016. As the Project Manager and primary System Administrator I know a great deal about what the system is capable of and, unfortunately, it leaves me less than fully satisfied. I wish I had more control over more parts of the "back-end" of the system (e.g., available configurations, field dictionaries and tables, etc.), but CareLogic keeps those locked down pretty tightly. Gets the day-to-day job done though.
Pros
I like the customization of a lot of the aspects of the software, although not all. It is a good balance of a scheduling and billing software and is relatively user-friendly. The ability to link to some other third-party software (like Dr. First) is also a benefit.
Cons
The reporting functionalities leave a great deal to be desired. Very limited in terms of what parameters are available and can be very slow depending on the amount of data you are pulling.

Voerall pretty good with a few downsides
Pros
CareLogic is highly customizable and there are many creative ways to use the system. There is also a really robust system of peer support from similar agencies to help answer questions beyond just the typical user support.
Cons
It's hard to train on because the structure doesn't feel intuitiveIt's also lots of work on the backend to set up because it is so customizable.

Cumbersome ECR
Carelogic gets the job done, but it not in a timely or efficient manner.
Pros
Software was pretty easy to learn how to use. I like how it opens into my schedule for the day. I like that I can check for unsigned documents.
Cons
Everything seems to take a long time using Carelogic. If I make one mistake in a form, I have to reinitiate the form and reenter all the information, rather than just fixing the one mistake. I also am unable to switch between regions within a document, so if I forget to change the region within carelogic, I have to redo work when I receive the error message that. There are frequently scheduled downtimes in the evenings. For folks like myself who work 2nd shift, I'm often unable to complete my work due to the maintenance being done. In order to complete my work in a timely manner, I've repeatedly had to log in on my day off to complete my work.

easy to learn
We are able to monitor client appointments and attendance. We can easily look for errors in billing and make corrections in documentation. The ability for supervisors to "reject" a document allows for errors to be fixed easily. It is quick to learn the minimal basic functions and there is some adaptability and flexibility to be able to fit it to specific program needs. The reports functions could be improved but overall the reports have been useful.
Pros
The program is easy to learn and easy to use. We have a number of interns who work at our office every year and they are able to pick it up quickly and use it on a regular basis to complete their work, even with only basic computer knowledge, it is easy to learn. While initial use is easy, mastering it is more difficult. There are a number of report options that could be useful, but require more practice.
Cons
The reports functions often do not show what we need or are difficult to use. There is more data that we would like to be able to track that is not part of the canned reports.

Worst EMR software ever encountered
Think twice about having anything to do with this program. It will cause nothing but problems unless you have a full-time SQL programmer on your payroll that does nothing else try to write reports against a poorly designed data structure, along with a full-time staff to do nothing but correct and try to correct the multitude of errors caused by this convoluted system.
Pros
Nothing. Don't be fooled. It's terrible software written on an unstable platform. Over time, they have cobbled this database into a maze of impossible tables and fields with no common keys.
Cons
Impossible report navigation, antiquated form builds, impossible to make changes to forms without major rework, add-ons such as HealthVault and UpDoxx are second-rate with no direct link for uploading patient documents to meet MACRA MIPS requirements easily. Too much time spent trying to understand the multiple manuals and daily notices of implementations. CareLogic proprietary forms cannot be used in combination with configurable forms. Support portal is a joke - Anything sent to Tier 3 (I suppose that's their software engineers) can take months to address and correct.

Honest assessment from the Data side of this product
Cost effective solution, not the smoothest UI flows, but functional. Customer engagement is 100%, user group communities are fantastically engaged and helpful. Qualifacts knows this is one of their strong suits and supports it fully.
Pros
Full ODBC access to a copy of my production tables is available (at a cost) but it allows me to run complex analysis of our data
Cons
I'm 10yrs into Carelogic and it took them too long to fully understand the data requirements of their users. The robust data platform they have in place now should have been in 7-8 yrs ago.

Critical View
Improving every day.
Pros
I an new to Carelogic and have experience with development in other EMR. So from my perspective there is just fundamental Architecture problems that may not have been considered or address in the early year of the product. Because of these restrictions what I would think would be customization has inert restriction that can not be changed. This changes the way I approach problem solving and implementations. My wish would be for a more open development features with the CF. Now it is very set with very little logic. To open this up as many options as possible would be great. I do understand about resource management and know their are physical Human restriction on what can happen.
On the bright side QF/CL is looking to the Future and the changes in reporting is my job security. I am hoping for the best outcome and preparing for other outcomes.
Cons
Customization is limited. Analytics/ reporting has limited tech resources.

Working claims billing through carelogic
Overall it works pretty good. I think there needs to be more people who work at care logic who understand the needs of the billing side better. I have had to figure a lot of stuff out when I could not get answers from care logic people.
Pros
Once it is set up it most functions work good.
Cons
When we set up in 2012 the instructions and training we received from CareLogic were not very thorough. Setting up payer fee schedules we would be instructed how to set those up. Then Carelogic would look at it and say this isn't correct. I had to re map the fee schedules 4 times before getting it correct. There are several functions that do not work as well as stated by trainings. Mass adjustment is one of those functions that needs improvement. Claim rollups work minimally. If you follow instructions for setting them up, you have to be very specific. The instructions don't state that issue. I feel like Carelogic relies too much on the user communities to figure out how to learn and understand the workings of the system.

Sometimes glitchy and limiting, but otherwise a robust set of tools.
As an EHR, I wouldn't give it an immediate green light for another mental health facility, but I would definitely include it as an option to compare with others.
Pros
It is flexible and powerful. Built-in billing functionality. Flexible form design by administrators with some limitations.
Cons
It is often glitchy. Defect repair at times can be slow and sometimes support returns with a "working as intended" reply to things that are either potential compliance issues or clear compliance issues which require pushing for escalation. But let's be clear, they have 50 states with a myriad of regulations to be compliant with.
You sometimes really have to push hard for major fixes and prove to them there is a problem. They are usually responsive once they are engaged in defect repair, however. It's not always clear why certain design choices are made and documentation could be better but is improving.

CareLogic by Qualifacts
Overall our experience has been good, although not without issues. Poor response time in reporting has been an ongoing problem since 2010 and has improved only marginally at best. However, ease of use and flexibility in implementation are big plusses. We have a wide range of programs serving all ages from cradle to grave, so flexibility is important for us.
Pros
The Scheduling aspect of CareLogic works well. Documentation writing is also fairly easy and easy to customize with our own templates based on compliance requirements and quality of care guidelines. The IMPACT tool is very useful given the emphasis on data driven treatment plans and modalities.
Cons
Form design abilities are somewhat limited. Reporting is quite problematic from a performance perspective, both canned and custom reports. Response from Support is somewhat slow and often the first tier analysts have insufficient experience and system knowledge to understand and resolve complex issues.

Carelogic Enterprise Software Review
Pros
The setup is very convenient, you can access a lot of data very quickly. You have a great degree of control on how your menus are configured and set up. You also have a great amount of ability to restrict and limit access to specific employees, specific programs or specific employee groups. You have the ability to write very fluid and very powerful reports using ORACLE.
Cons
The reporting platform is very antiquated and unable to give output or support most of our reports, meaning we have to run very large data queries in small batches, and that takes up a lot of analyst time. There is no administrator log to track which employees did which actions in the Carelogic system.
