It gets the job done, with disastrous ergonomics, but fulfills its mission
We are a small team that needs to take notes to keep various information over time on a multitude of small projects. And we do not have a significant budget for this, if at all. OneNote was suggested by a colleague, it faced resistance to adoption from many, but in the end, it does these three basic tasks very well: taking notes, keeping them, and allowing them to be quickly retrieved.
Pros
Its integration with Windows, and its almost free nature make it a tool immediately available to collaborators within our IT fleet.
Everyone knows how to use Microsoft Office, so everyone knows how to use OneNote.
It archives note-taking very well, allows for document retention without cluttering the entire screen, and has a basic search tool.
Cons
There are several online tools that are much more attractive in terms of design. However, OneNote still does its job very well: allowing you to take notes, keep them, and find them easily. However, creating dependencies between notes and collaboration is not smooth at all. Other online alternatives do much better. But they require subscribing to plans, while OneNote is integrated into Windows for everyone.

Cons
I disliked that the file format is incompatible with Google Keep Notes app on Android and Apple Notes on iOS.

A user-friendly tool for creating notes and syncs well with mobile app
It comes bundled with the office 365 suite and is easy to use and very intuitive for taking notes. Supports all types of formatting and objects such as tables, sticky notes. Syncs very well with the mobile app
Pros
Use it extensively for taking notes during a meeting. Can create as many sections and each section can be modified with the content as you require with all the required formatting options.
The data is synced and can be accessed on any device with your account
Cons
The mobile app is not having all the extensive features as the desktop version. Mobile is suited for viewing the creates notes rather than making changes or editing

Critical component of daily productivity systems
Pros
So much flexibility to manage your own notes, as well as create and share notebooks or manuals with other teammates. Very easy to learn and has a lot of features that allow you to get away from keeping any notes on paper, and great search functionality to find what you need.
Cons
The interface could use a refresh. I wish it was easier to share a page without sharing an entire notebook. If you don't have an organized system, it can quickly turn into sprawl.

Go-to tool for notetaking
I use this tool on a daily basis to write quick notes during meetings and to draft material (emails, etc.) before they go out. It's like my virtual binder of notes, with additional benefits like searchability and dictation!
Pros
The ability to create a number of folders and sections and navigate between them quickly and seamlessly.
Cons
There's not much I dislike about OneNote, however I have experienced some syncing issues in the past that led me to start a completely new Notebook from scratch.

OneNote: The Only Anti-Minimalist Note-Taking App That Works
For me, Obsidian feels a bit too complex, and MS Notepad far too basic. OneNote strikes the right balance between the two. I don't consider myself a hardcore note-taker, but I do need a space to get ideas out of my head. I appreciate the freedom of its canvas and the ability to drop things in as messily as they come to me—quickly and efficiently. Then, when the storm of ideas calms, I can sort through what’s important and structure everything accordingly.
Pros
Old habits die hard. Even though there are numerous new note-taking apps available—and some of them are really good—I still find myself sticking with OneNote to capture my thoughts and ideas. Despite the allure of new, shiny apps, I always find it hard to switch. OneNote remains my daily driver for note-taking, so I let it be.What I like most about Microsoft OneNote is its ability to handle all sorts of media—text, images, links, and more—and how it manages thumbnails and backlinks. While this isn't unique or groundbreaking by today’s standards, it was back when I first started using it, and it's been working beautifully for me ever since.
Cons
search functionality, while decent, isn't as powerful as I'd like. Finding specific content can be slow, especially in larger notebooks, and it doesn't always surface relevant results as efficiently as other apps. For someone juggling multiple projects or ideas, this can slow down productivity.

Note Application Leader
Pros
Microsoft OneNote is incredible tool that comes with 365 suite. It follows the same thinking and usecases as many other tools by Microsoft, enhancing the experience of such tools as Outlook and Teams.
The UI is similar to other tools, there is barely any switch. All users tend to understand and know how it works from the start.
There are many instant connections from apps within Windows making it the perfect note tool.
Cons
It is limited in customization and does not deviate from intended templates.
Cannot make plans or schemes as in Miro.

OneNote works well
Use for my own internal note taking on projects and tasks. Project use as a quick way to take meeting minutes that can be copied over from week to week to maintain the structure and some of the content.
Pros
Easy note taking with a lot of organizational options within notebooks (sections/pages etc). Formatting can be applied to call out information easily and its a little easier to start note taking than with a full processor like Word.
Cons
Juggling multiple notebooks can be challenging and have had issues going from the desktop application and the web applications as syncs do not always happen quickly between the versions.

Avid User, Love It!
It has made my work life so much more organized, and I find myself taking more notes because this allows me to organize them easier.
Pros
I love that it integrates with the Microsoft Suite, and is a way to digitize my notes. I have multiple tabs, but can access all of my notes in one place. Lots of great ways to organize information.
Cons
I'm not always able to format the text the way I want to, would like more options like Word has.

Product title says it all
Pros
It was the first tool I came across that actually felt like taking notes on a piece of paper but on steroids when it comes to links, images and much more. Whether its the local or cloud based version you're in for a treat.
Cons
The search engine is not optimal. The price is a bit expensive. If versioning/version control is a big requirement for documentation you should consider something more enterprise grade than OneNote.

Best for Note taking and tracking tasks
Pros
One of the standout features of Microsoft OneNote for me is its seamless integration with other Microsoft Office applications and services. This integration streamlines workflows and enhances productivity by allowing users to easily transfer information between different tools.
Cons
While OneNote's flexibility is a strength, it can also be a drawback for users who struggle to maintain organization and focus within their notes. The abundance of formatting options, tags, and collaboration features may lead to information overload or cluttered notes if not managed effectively.

oneNote the best software for notes
Pros
Microsoft OneNote offers note-taking capabilities, seamless integration with other Microsoft Office applications, and real-time collaboration features. Organize your content with a smart management system using notes, sections and pages. Enter your notes anytime, anywhere, increasing productivity and user convenience
Cons
The worst feature of Microsoft OneNote is inconsistent synchronization between devices, which can lead to data loss. The interface is confusing and bulky, and the lack of advanced formatting options makes it difficult to organize your notes. Also, sometimes performance issues and limited access to non-Microsoft services prevent full use.

My Microsoft OneNote experience.
Pros
I love how easy it is for me to create my uni notes, use the platform to organise, plan and track my assignments on time and also be able to do all this at a fair price.
Cons
I hate the fact that there's no app that I can use offline with more features from apps like Notion. It would be nice to have all the different templates that other people use being introduced to Onenote as well.

All notes should be on OneNote!
Really love OneNote! Moving to a hybrid position, this makes it very easy to have access to my notes whether I am in office or at home. Easy to organize with different customers and keeping everything organized!
Pros
Love the tabs you can make in your notes, keeps you very organized. Backing up my notes so I can have them regardless of what happens to my computer gives me great peace of mind!
Cons
Sometimes I will get slightly annoyed by not being able to easily make a new text box within a note sheet. Could be a me issue but sometimes I click away and it just extends my text box to one giant box.

A thousand of note
One note has a clean jnterface that I like, it's easy to understand how it works and you are free to edit your section dragging and dropping files, attaching images, pasting and formatting text, past tables... I like that next to every note there are the initials of the name about who wrote/changed it.
Sometimes it seems to stop sync and give error, most of time I have to close and reopen the app. Anyway, really useful program.
Pros
I use OneNote for work every day. I mainly use the app version, but in case of need I can also use the web version e.g. if I am away from office or I am not using my computer. You can organize your notes creating alphabetical section with many sections inside. You can attach images and files and edit the text in the way you prefer like you were using word. You can also have a look at changes during time, so if anything is wrong or missing you can display how it was before last changes. You can share your notes with others via email.
Really useful to keep and share notes and data, especially at work. I prefer dark version.
Cons
Sometimes it does not sync giving errors and you have to reinstall it and clean the cache

Best Notes application for teams
I have used it for several years during meetings to take notes of everything and share to everyone that should have it. It's really good.
Pros
I think it's great for meetings and to be able to share between whole company or other companies so everyone know what is said on meetings.
Works great with whole 365 and Teams.
Cons
No cons really. It does what it's supposed to do and do it great!

Still a huge of my life
If you are a frequent user of other Microsoft programs, OneNote is extra helpful to keep in track, organize the information as you prefer.
Pros
This is most dynamic software to take notes efficiently with your PC. I've used OneNote ever since I was a student to take study notes and organize personal matters. The fact that you don't have to carry all the papers is a huge pro. It easily integrates with other Microsoft Office programs, which makes the whole package a great deal. For instance, you can place Excel spreadsheets or Doc files inside the note. The software offers numerous functions that are essential to note-taking and filing. I highly recommend it to students in school, who need to organize the files effectively.
Cons
It isn't exactly a best tool when it comes to group work setting. Sharing contents can be tricky sometimes. Also, there is no frequent updates these days, which makes me feel the software is stuck back in the day.

Microsoft OneNote Review / Collaboration Tools
You could create a shared notebook in OneNote for your group. In this notebook, you can create different sections for various aspects of the project, such as research, tasks, meeting notes, and drafts.
Pros
OneNote allows me to create notebooks for different topics, and within those notebooks, I can make sections and pages to stay organized.
Cons
The OneNote’s interface its less intuitive compared to other note taking apps so It might take some time to get used to the features.
