Good tool for small projects in small teams
I used Microsoft Project mainly for private projects and projects with me as only team member due to its lack of team features. For private projects and projects without a team it is very easy o use and quite helpful.
Pros
Very good and easy to use. Especially useful for personal projects or small teams that do not require simultaneous access.
Cons
Not suitable for teams since simultaneous access is not easily possible.

Lean, mean, organization machine
Overall it's a good experience. It does what it does well, but if you're trying to make it be something more it will leave you waning.
Pros
I like how easy it is to use & that it is integrated with other Microsoft products.
Cons
It was a bit lean to be used as a full service PM tool, but for smaller teams, to dos, and simple projects it's great.

Perfect Control Design Timelines
Chosen for its entire suite of project management abilities, with easy integration with other Microsoft products. One of its main assets was also its ability to handle complex resource allocation, as well as the ability to provide detailed timeline visualizations, which made it a good choice for managing ongoing design projects at once. If you’re looking for the power to create detailed project timelines and manage complex project dependencies, then Microsoft Project is your best friend. The ability of our software to robustly report on progress against baselines has been vital in keeping design projects on schedule as well as in budget.
Pros
Advanced resource leveling algorithms that automatically adjust project schedules to the capabilities of their people. Customizable templates that apply to design project workflows. Pre-built task dependencies and milestones.
Cons
It would be more intuitive for visual design professionals, making it an interface. No collaboration options for team feedback. The resource allocation visualization in this project could be improved.

Free Online Training & Couses.. take advantage of them if you can!
Microsoft Project would likely be the best way to go if in fact, you had the proper training prior to implementing this software into your company.
My biggest problem was figuring out how to update projects after the fact. Adding changes seemed difficult & to be honest I likely didn't give it enough time & decided to go back to our previous software before presenting it to the entire team.
Pros
I love the idea of using Microsoft project & have heard others speak very highly of it. I know it has to be one of the more popular software programs in the industry because of how many of my peers are using it. And have been for many, many years. For me, the software was just a little too intimidating. I wish I would have taken advantage of the free online training & courses prior to diving in. I most likely could have got the hang of things & would have felt comfortable presenting it to my team.
Cons
Microsoft Projects has such good intentions with this software but I truly just felt it was a too complex & difficult to navigate on the scale I needed it for. I sometimes wish I would have given it more time & may decide to go back to it in the future but for now we switched back to smartsheet as it gets the job done & takes less brain power for me. Which lately has been running close to empty!

Great software for project managers and project management students
I love it. I am obsessed with this software. It has amazing work breakdown capabilities and lets you design and manage every detail of your project.
Pros
It is a great software for group projects. The entire team can work on different aspects of a project including risk management, budget allocation, time allocation and more aspects.
Cons
There is a learning curve until you master the software. So it is great for those whose job is working in projects but there will be an onboarding timeframe.

Sooner or later you will have to use it
Pros
Hard to say. Honestly it is a tool you are forced to use more than a tool you have pleasure to use. You have to used it when working on highly regulated markets and managing traditional large teams in waterfall projects. It has all the features you need to manage a big project, and I particularly appreciate the possibility of managing sub-projects in the same file.
Cons
The reporting features lag behind many other competitors. It is buggy if you try to do complex reports with big gantt files. Also, there is little room for customisation of the gantt bar if you want to build attractive graphics. I would also appreciate if Microsoft could integrate Copilot into MS Project to help with analysis.

It boosts efficiency because to its compatibility with other Microsoft products like Excel and...
Using Microsoft Project, I can divide the work into smaller, more manageable chunks, set due dates, and monitor progress with great accuracy. You should pay special attention to the Gantt charts because they are a great way to see how everything is connected and when things will happen.
Pros
One thing that stood out to me about using Microsoft Project was how easy it made project management, even the most complex ones, thanks to its great capabilities and adaptability. Working as a research assistant at a university requires me to juggle multiple assignments and projects at once.
Cons
The interface's intricate design and features may be overwhelming for someone using it for the first time. Efficacious teamwork is further hindered by the inability to collaborate in real-time without purchasing costly add-ons.

A reliable old workhorse.
The quality of MS Project output is often sufficient for the requirement of most projects , but there is little room to do anting new or exciting with the platform. Its and old workhorse.

Cons
The MS Project interface is limiting, and difficult to understand without putting effort into experimentation.

A review of Microsoft Project
Overall I am quite satisfied with the services of Microsoft Project
Pros
Microsoft Project applications are easily accessible from the MS Office Store and Sharepoint Store and can be used to increase the product's functionality, such as Custom Dashboards etc. The main advantage is large database and well-written documentation, questions and issues can be readily answered within the community. On the other hand, Microsoft offers effective technical help.
Cons
Although the use is flawless, the configuration is not the easiest, however once configured. User management is difficult and time-consuming.

MS Project User Experience
My Overall experience with Microsoft Project has been great, especially given that I had no prior experience of using the software. I was able to quickly grasp the UI and troubleshoot any issues that came up.
Pros
Fairly easy to use, especially if you have a good grasp of MS Excel.
It's highly flexible and allows the user to change and tweak a lot of key parameters.
Cons
Compared to other scheduling softwares, e.g. P6, it misses out on some key functionalities. A key feature missing is % work planned. It allows user to compare what % of work was planned till date vs how much has been completed.

Essential software for project planning and management
I think Microsoft project is the easiest way to project plan for engineering projects. Primavera is a strong tool, however, for less experienced planners and managers, Microsoft project is the easiest to use and simplest to learn.
Pros
It is easy to use compared to other project planning softwares. It also integrates easily with teams and other used programs.
Cons
It is costly, and not everyone can have access to quickly editing or working on a plan. People will default to do work in excel since it is more easily available.

It is ubiquitous (anyplace, any time) to get project to stay on task, keep projects organized, and tracked & getting work done like Sharing files, co-authoring and editing content as well as working together simultaneously.

Review of Microsoft Project
It really depends on the scheduling standards of the company you are applying for and their delivery approach. If they are following adaptive/agile life cycles, they may get by without using a traditional scheduling engine.
While familiarity with a specific scheduling tool might be asked during an interview or part of a job description, I've never heard of it being a "must have" as it is fairly easy to learn how to use one of these tools – the hard work is facilitating the development of the WBS and network diagram, which are the prerequisites for its use.
Pros
Excel-like interface
Flexible project planning
Team collaboration
Extensive reporting capabilities.
Cons
Switching between Microsoft Project applications
Extra steps for online syncing
Few integrations outside Microsoft.

Great product for those who require advanced functionality
Microsoft Project is highly effective for those who need its advanced features and are willing to invest the time to learn it, but it might not be the best fit for those looking for a more intuitive, user-friendly solution.
