Ecommerce = Shopify (even if it's custom build and just have the products stored there..)
I am pleased with Shopify. When I do find myself looking elsewhere sooner or later I will always return because it's best in class.
Pros
It does what you want for an e-commerce store. It has the highest conversion rate of any e-commerce checkout. It works. It has lots of integrations.
Cons
Though the support is regularly helpful and try to be helpful. You usually have to go through several people to find the right answer. The AI help will end up taking you down routes that don't even exist.

Efficient and User-Friendly, but Pricey for B2B
My experience with Shopify has been largely positive. The platform's intuitive design and wide range of features make it a powerful tool for e-commerce businesses. However, the high pricing for B2B services could be a deterrent for some. Despite this, Shopify remains a top choice for its ease of use and comprehensive marketing solutions.
Pros
Shopify impresses with its well-structured interface and ease of onboarding, making it simple to set up an online store even for beginners. The checkout process is seamless, ensuring a smooth experience for customers. Additionally, the platform offers a plethora of marketing apps, helping businesses stay competitive and effectively reach their audience.
Cons
The main drawback of Shopify is its pricing plan for the B2B segment, which is quite high. This can be a significant concern for businesses looking to scale up or those operating with tight budgets.

Once good, now terrible
Customer service used to be good until the took phone calling away. Now chat boxes take hours with no resolutions.
Just need to resolve the small issue of them holding our money and not paying it out to us. But the notice they gave us before withholding our payouts. Less then 1 business days. Im on day 4 of trying to get this resolved.
Choose another site.
Pros
Customer service before they got rid of the ability to talk to someone. Probably fired them all to make more money.
Cons

Shopify is perfect for beginners and gives a lot of great structure
Overall I’ve love my experience with Shopify as a small business owner. A lot of things fall on me to do in terms of set up and management, and it’s very straightforward and easy to use.
Pros
it’s really easy for a beginner to get set up
Cons

Shopify a best e-commerce store builder platform.
My experience with Shopify is good and I not faced any single problem while using Shopify but the Shopify plan pricing is very high because if we don't have any sale it is very difficult to pay the free.
Pros
Shopify is the best e-commerce platform to run an e-commerce business online, wether you want to drop shipping or an biggest Store with multiple products, Shopify help you to manage all of them easily.
I use Shopify as my e-commerce store for my drop shipping business.
And the best part is you not need any knowledge about anything Shopify's easy and user-friendly dashboard you can easily customise everything at a single click.
It is very easy to customise Website to make it professional looking website with Shopify's drag and functionality.
And Shopify is the easiest way to ran an e-commerce business online.
Cons
All things on Shopify is good but I Shopify's plans pricing can make a newbie think that whether I go with Shopify or not because if he doesn't have enough money then this will be different to use Shopify.
And as well as the custom add-ons pricing free is very high .

Best e-com platform
I love it and wouldn't change to another e-commerce platform anymore. I always found answers, there are so many apps that you can connect and you can literally do anything you can imagine in shopify.
Pros
Very beginner friendly. If you need support, there is an answer to any question I had in their FAQ List or someone made a youtube video about it.
Cons
If you want a good theme, you have to purchase one. The included themes didn't have the options I needed for my shop. Price starts at 300 €.

Easy to use, functional, but integration could be better
Easy to work with and does a good enough job for what we need. If you want something that is more than functional, looks good, and is easy to use, definitely use Shopify.
However, if you have an existing high level site (like we did) and need a bolt on webshop, it will not be seamless and will look different to your existing site.
Pros
Very intuitive and easy to use. Even for basic technical level marketer, the drag and drop elements as well as the modules make it easy to build a good looking website without being an expert coder.
Cons
Some of the internal systems weren't that easy to integrate. It was also a bit difficult to match the website up to our existing Hubspot and make it look exactly the same as an extension of the site, rather than a seperate site.

Easier to use and made it easier to match to our existing site- Industry: Automotive

A complete Platform for Business Ecommerce, with just a few Minor Drawbacks
Shopify is a great, complete platform that suits my ecommerce needs.
It's quite easy to set up, it has huge support and tutorials, price is decent for all the offering, and it's integrated with anything you could imagine.
There's a few things I don't like, such as how the website editing is, which I think is noticeably worse than Squarespace, but it's a complete package that gives small businesses everything they need.
Pros
It's an all-in-one platform that includes everything you need to sell online. From invoicing and payments, to integrations, to customization and user behaviour tracking.
The marketplace of apps and integrations is huge, and there's the right app integration for everything you need.
The support is huge, and there's many tutorials available to get the most out of the platform.
Cons
There is a learning curve with the product: the website builder is not very flexible, if compared to Squarespace. The User experience in building from a template is very limited and not guided at the beginning.
If you want to change one page with another for example, it's required to get into the code folders and copy-paste the code from one page to the other.
Apart from these minor things, that are easily solvable thanks to the good documentation and videos, the product is very solid

Shopify is IT.
Although you may not have the total control and flexibility you could achieve with a self hosted solution the overall improvements in not having to manage your servers and speed of integration makes it definitely worthy.
Pros
As a developer / part-time system administrator Shopify's cloud solution is the best possible solution for an ecommerce.
Blazing fast solid infrastructure
Cons
Coming from WooCommerce Shopify is not the most open environment due to its cloud structure.
Heavy customization is achievable through Apps, Functions or Plus features.

A powerful and user-friendly solution with a price tag to match
Apart from the price, it was everything I expected and more.
Pros
The level of control, ease of setting up an online store with inventory tracking, online payments, parcel shipping integration and intuitive management panel.
Cons
It is pricy, especially for a small starting store with virtually no sales yet. The option to "park" the website for a period of time when things are slow is helpful, however, it is a considerable expense for a starting business.

Only for people who are really willing to deal with it
I completely underestimated the time required to manage the shop. Something is constantly changing here or a new update is coming out and you have to check what changes. On the one hand, I understand that this keeps it up to date, but on the other hand, it also loses user-friendliness. Anyone who is willing to delve deeper into everything that goes into it (shipping, taxes, data maintenance,...) will have a lot of fun.
Pros
The setup is clear and there are many helpful tutorials online
Cons
That you have to pay extra for useful tools that are required by law (e.g. cookie banners, etc.). This drives up the costs for the shop, which is really difficult, especially in the beginning or for small businesses.

Overall great experience thus far with shopify.
All in all I must say I have had a positive experience using shopify to build my online business. They provide excellent analytics tools to help you keep up with every detail of everything that happens on your site. From customer traffic and sales figures, to guides on what to do next to increase sales and conversions going forward, they have your back.
Pros
The site is really easy to navigate and understand. In one afternoon I was able to get a complete ecommerce site/store set up and stocked with products for print on demand that I personally designed myself. There are options and customizations available for every aspect of the site from the color of the header background to the profit margin percentages I wanted for each item to additional admin apps that are customizable as well!
Cons
All those options can be overwhelming to someone who is new to working or selling online. While there are live chat agents available and help tabs and menus everywhere on the site it still can take some time to get familiar with everything and the functions. I wouldn't mind seeing some simplification of some of the terminology used on the site.

Is Shopify the BEST for Ecommerce?
Overall it has been positive, and I do believe one of the best options out there for ecommerce businesses.
Pros
After trying a couple of different platforms, I have found Shopify to be the most robust and customizable and very accessible for small businesses.
Cons
Unfortunately, there are a lot of moving pieces, and it can be overwhelming for an entrepreneur to try and navigate their platform for the first time. Although the building of the website is direct, a lot of common-sense items seem to be missing and that means needing to either pay for an app to add on the needed features or needing to pay to have someone code it into the backend.

Open Your Own Store With Shopify
I had a great time, opening the store with Shopify and keeping it open for about a year. Unfortunately, the price of the monthly fees were a little to high. I only made a few sales, but it was a great experience to be honest.
Pros
At first glance I was impressed by the fact I could create my own little store on the website I own. I like the fact that you could choose your own products to sell based on your own personal taste. I enjoyed creating my store because it was so easy to make from scratch. I was thrilled that I got the new store up and running within days of starting the process with Shopify. I even made a few sales, once I linked it to my personal website. I was totally impressed on how easy it was to navigate the store’s back office or owner area. The company did exactly what it says and I like having completely satisfied customers and good reviews on my store.
Cons
I did not like the monthly pricing, but if you want to keep your store open. I found it was hard to learn all of the policies and laws that pertain to your store, but the program lists them all. Additionally, I did not like the customer service that I was given by Shopify.

Effortless Digital Sales with Shopify - I Made Over $20K Last Year!
I sell digital products online, and Shopify has been the best solution I’ve found. Once everything is set up, it’s like making money in your sleep—it’s amazing! Last year, I made over $20K in sales, so it’s definitely been worth it!
Pros
I started by using Shopify's Buy Button, which was perfect when I had just a few products to sell. It was easy to install and got me up and running quickly. But as my store grew, I decided to upgrade to a full Shopify website. I love it! The website is user-friendly, making it simple for people to navigate, and I found a theme that was easy to set up and customize. Plus, their customer support has been super helpful whenever I need assistance.
Cons
Sometimes, because Shopify is such a feature-rich platform, I can get a bit confused about how certain things work. But whenever that happens, a quick Google search always leads me to a helpful tutorial that clears things up.

Overall I still have to say that Shopify is an amazing tool for entrepreneurs who want to reach a broader audience. It is simple to set up and the admin view shows everything you need at one quick view.
Pros
Shopify is very simple and intuitive. It is perfect for people who are just starting out in the E-Commerce branch.
Cons

A Solid E-Commerce Platform with a Few Costly Extras
Shopify strikes a good balance between being simple to use and packing a decent amount of power, making it a solid pick for most e-commerce businesses. It’s got a great mix of tools and resources to help you grow, and while there are a few downsides – like the costs and some tricky bits with advanced customisation – you can usually work around them with a bit of careful planning.
Pros
It comes with loads of built-in tools, like inventory management, payment processing, and shipping integrations.
Cons
Shopify can get a bit pricey, especially when you add up the monthly subscriptions, transaction fees (if you’re not using Shopify Payments), and the extra costs for apps to get all the features you need.

Great Platform for Building a Small Business
As a small business owner of a gym apparel company, I couldn't see my shop being on any platform other than Shopify. Since day one of using Shopify, their user-friendly platform has been very intuitive, and getting my shop's site set up was a breeze. Everything from the quick customization of my shop's website to being able to handle the logistics of shipping easily has made my experience wonderful. I'm excited to see what new features they continue to develop.
Pros
Their online support is extremely helpful and quick with response time. The ability to have social media integrations tied directly into Shopify is exceptionally useful for advertising and using this data to expand our customer base.
Cons
At times, Shopify can rely heavily on third-party apps to take care of simple features that are either underdeveloped in their capability to perform or just nonexistent. For example, the Shopify Reviews app wasn't comparable to other review apps from developers and was finally closed down. I hope Shopify will work on creating their own apps for simple features in the future so shop owners don't have to seek outside alternatives and pay additional fees to use the apps.

Overall, Shopify is an effective services that allows me to run my website and be seen nationally. There are many limitations, restrictions and additional costs that I deal with using Shopify due to being a CBD beverage company, but I have found ways to make my business still operate with it.
Pros
Ability to connect many 3rd party apps, edit code on the backend for full customization and allows 3rd party payment processors.
Cons
Shopify charges transaction fees for using third party payment processors, but my company is not able to use Shopify Payments due to being a CBD company. Would definitely use again
I started overhauling our website and working on our new online store in January 2024. It went live to the public in September 2024. So, it took us nine months to get everything in order the way we wanted to have it. Honestly I think that is a fair amount of time. I am coming from having some web experience but I had never done a project like this before. If I was to do it again, it could be done in half the time. It just seemed like every day there was something new to learn. Would 100% use Shopify for future projects, and would recommend them to others, especially beginners who want a beautiful finished product and an easy to learn system.
Pros
After much deliberation of which online platform to use for our online store, we settled on Shopify for its user-friendliness. I am not an expert, yet I was able to set up a successful, beautiful online store with nearly 1,000 products. While I enjoy Shopify's chat support, we also tag teamed with a Shopify Expert to do some coding for us. Their chat support could help with most non-code related issues though, which was very appreciated.
Cons
One thing we have found difficult about Shopify is the amount of apps you need to install in order to have your site running with all the features you would want. We bought a pretty extensive theme, but are still using apps for features such as a wishlist, a quick reorder option in the "account" page for return patients, adding expiration dates to products, etc. They are not all expensive but together, they add up. Another downside for us is we sell vitamins and supplements which are on Shopify Payments restricted list, so we needed to find a third party processor. With this processor, Shopify charges us additional percentage, on top of what we pay the third party processor, simply because we are not using their payments system. The additional cost has been something we have to weigh out and consider, but it has been worth it to be able to bring our business of 20+ years to the online market.

Great Platform For Beginners in Ecommerce
Overall it was good, they make great websites whether they are blogs or stores and a better selection of vendors than many of the other dropping shipping platforms.
Pros
I like that shopify had a wide selection of merchants to choose from when you were setting up your store, they had everything from simple merch, regular clothing and even an adult products(if thats what you want to set up!). Also, a lot of vendors work with them so they always have different promotions going on to get your store up and going. And if you want to pause it you can keep your whole store with out losing anything for a much lower cost.
Cons
What I didn't like is when it comes to getting your products into categories it's not as simple as going under the title of the page and checkmarking the products that you want for that page. Also, while they do have a lot vendors so many people use shopify that many times a lot of the products are sold out and thats a problem if you are going to be a vendor on a large platform with millions of users such as Shopify you have to keep up with the demand. And you can never just call everything has to be done through email and chat. And when shopify accounts were comprised such as mine was I would have rather spoke with someone about the situation than continue to have online interaction on the account that was compromised.

Great for Growing an E-commerce Business with Customizable Options!
Shopify is a solid choice for anyone looking to build and grow an online store, especially those looking for a platform that scales as they grow. It has a range of features to support growth, a supportive community, and a wide range of integrations. Just be mindful of the additional costs as your store expands.
Pros
Shopify is a versatile platform for building an online store, and it’s well-suited for both beginners and more advanced users. The setup is straightforward, with a vast selection of beautiful, customizable themes that make designing the storefront easy. Shopify’s app marketplace offers many tools to integrate for added functionality—like marketing, analytics, and dropshipping options—that can help scale a business. Plus, the support is responsive and typically helpful, making it a reliable option for maintaining a smooth-running store.
Cons
While Shopify’s core features are solid, costs can add up quickly. Some key features (such as advanced reporting and certain apps) are locked behind higher-tier plans or come with additional fees, which might not be ideal for very small businesses. Also, the transaction fees can be a downside unless you use Shopify Payments, so it’s worth factoring this into the overall cost.

DO NOT trust this evil company
After spending 8 months building and refining my store on Shopify, with absolutely no warning and no consultation with myself they took down my store and locked me out of my account permanently. They stated that my store was too 'high risk' for Shopify to support. We are a fully incorporated and licensed online retailer for garage equipment... would hardly say that is high risk.
Over the 8 months we were building the store my experience with Shopify's systems and their customer service was absolutely horrible. I have never encountered a business with so little care for their customers. AVOID SHOPIFY AT ALL COSTS. would give 0 stars if I could.
Pros
Absolutely nothing good to say about this company. Their user experience is terrible and their customer service is absolutely atrocious
Cons
Shopify has no interest in supporting small business. All they want to do is take your money and they do not care at all what happens to your business. I have never encountered another business with so little care for there clients. They are crooks and bullies. their user experience is FULL of bugs, you will constantly be reaching out to customer service. Their customer service is AWFUL its only an online chat (there's no way to talk to them on the phone) with a bunch of agents who have no idea what they are talking about, I was constantly receiving contradictory answers from different agents. The only reason they have customers is because of their massive marketing budget pushing lies onto the public. If people knew how this business operated no one would be using it. I can honestly say I have never had a worse experience with any business in any sector than I have had with Shopify. 8 months of hard work and money down the drain after they deleted my store and locked me out with no warning, no explanation and no consultation. To quote part of their brief and rude email; "for security and privacy reasons we are unable to divulge the results of our reviews and investigations" which makes no sense considering everything in the investigation would just be my details and info.
Reasons for Switching to Shopify

Best Software to use
As finance professional I used this to track revenue for my client. They use Shopify for selling the products. And mostly sale done through this. This is one of the best platform to use. Easy to use Easily sync with netsuite for sales.
Pros
We use this site to sell our products. I like most the dashboard easy to use, and reports section easily anyone can earn from this portal.
Cons
Sometimes we feel syncing issue with others application.

A good e-commerce platform to start but with limitations and monthly fees
We used Shopify for about a year starting a new online business and it excels as an entry point into e-commerce, in particular if you don't have much technical knowledge. But for superior customization and flexibility it's quite limited. Other platforms give more functionality without subscription fees.
Pros
User-friendly platform with an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, drag-and-drop functionality in the web editor and free templates. The App Store provides many integrations and add-ons.
Cons
Overall the flexibility is limited compared to other platforms and migrating the store away from Shopify to other platform can be difficult as it’s a closed system. Monthly subscription fees.

A scalable jumping point for small biz and beyond!
Easy to use, advanced features are reachable and learnable. Was able to accomplish complex back-end configs and enable better user journeys thanks to apps!
Pros
It makes small to medium business possible and there are options to scale via apps.
Cons
The jump to premium is large for even a medium sized business, so as we scale to the point that a connection of multiple Shopify apps becomes shaky you can kind of get stuck in this limbo of no mid-ground pricing. Would be great if there were a program to consult on features/complex needs for the storefront and get a curated Shopify app/API-friendly solution!

Shopify review
Easy to use and highly intuitive interface for building and managing online stores, I like it more than other similar product because of that.
Pros
It was designed for people who are not technical users like me, offering a highly intuitive interface for building and managing online stores.
Cons
The costs, and so many feature require third part apps, which can be more additional monthly fee.

Exceptional E-commerce Platform
Based on my experience with Shopify, I've found it to be a highly effective platform for managing an e-commerce business. Its intuitive interface and extensive range of features have streamlined our operations and enhanced our ability to scale efficiently.
Pros
This platform has significantly enhanced our online business operations. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to set up and customize our store without needing technical expertise. I particularly appreciate Shopify's robust features, such as the Shopping Cart for seamless transactions and the Inventory Tracking system for real-time stock management.
Cons
One aspect of Shopify that I find less favorable is the cost associated with using certain advanced features and apps. While the basic platform is reasonably priced and offers essential functionalities, additional expenses can accrue when integrating specialized apps or scaling up to higher-tier plans for access to more advanced tools.

Shopify At A Glance
Overall its a very significant and user friendly e-commerce platform, in spite of its cost and other limitations.
Pros
I like Shopify as it allows easy setting up of an online store . There is great customer support through out the entire experience. It is very user friendly and straight forward there is however some technicalities when stocking or finding products for the shop .That's my personal view anyway . once the step by step procedure is correctly followed ,the store can be launched in no time. The features available with Shopify are inclusive of payment processing ,inventory management , how you ship , as well as tools for marketing. They also provide on going customer support.
Cons
I find Shopify to be very costly especially as a beginner , as there is a monthly subscription fee even before you sell an item . This in particular as led me to temporarily close my Shopify store ,as it has proven to be quite difficult to sell my first item.

Great! From a financial standpoint, we were able to easily connect it to our financial reporting system using a third party connector. The team is responsive.
Pros

Dashboards show all the information I need at a glance.
Payouts are clearly organized.
Cons
Some persisting small issues that don't seem to get resolved.

Simple and Easy to Use
I have used Shopify since 2019 and it is better than Woocommerce built on Word Press for me because I don't have to code a lot
Pros
It is easy to set up and use. It makes starting an ecommerce store possible for someone like me that doesn't having website development and coding skills. It has a payment processor, good basic themes and integrates well with social media, shipping software and other softwares.
Cons
I don't like that you need a lot of apps to add things like multiple images to each variation. That should be built in like it is on eBay and Amazon's platforms.

Not all e-commerce solutions are created equal
We work alongside numerous brands, all of whom rely upon e-commerce solutions. It's easy to imagine that all options are more or less the same, as, on the surface, they essentially provide the same service. In my experience this absolutely isn't the case and the easy of working with Shopify versus some of the other options is immediately apparent
Pros
The ease of connectivity between other products - particularly ad platforms such as Google ads, and marketing applications like Mailchimp
Cons
I've yet to find anything I particularly dislike about Shopify

Complete Platform for E-Commerce
Ever since I joined Shopify back in 2022 my online business has growth, because of all the tools it has and also to the opportunities it brings to small business owner with Shopify Capital.
Pros
It has everything needed to run an online business in just one platform. And for the things it doesn't have you can just add apps to your online store.
Cons
I am very happy with Shopify, so there nothing I don't like about it.
