Great for Self-Pay clients and Part Time Staff

I like it and we use it still as a company. However, with the recent cost increase we are considering switching. If you are a small practice with mostly self-pay clients, its a good program.

Pros

Its a great value and great program to use as an EHR if you are work with mostly self-pay clients. It is relatively user friendly to use as well. Its also great if you have several part-time clinicians since you pay by the amount of clients

Cons

It lacks some features both on the client side and staff side that can be improved. The client portal as well as billing abilities are not as robust as other programs.

Reasons for Switching to TheraNest

It was much more cost effective - especially with several staff that are part time. But with the recent price increase we are considering switching to a more robust program.

Easy to use and cost effective

Overall, TheraNest is not difficult to learn and is rather cost effective.

Pros

I love that the software allows for easy patient/client account management.

Cons

It would be better if there was a way to manually update modifiers without them being actually attached to the CPT codes. I would also prefer that the system would retain history and not change old claims by updating to new insurance when it is added. We like to look back and see where claims were submitted to.

Do not care about their customers experience

Poor. I have been with this company a long time and would leave it if I didn’t have so many clients with them. I have never been so angry at a company before. I expressed this to them and they hung up on me. No solutions, just a hang up.

Pros

The EHR system has some good points to it. I have thousands of clients in it and it ran well under its [sensitive content hidden]. Under the company who bought him out, not so much.

Cons

Terrible customer support, especially by director level people. I am now an extremely unhappy customer. They are binding me to a billing contract really for no reason. I have expressed several times that they are not doing their job. I have called my the insurance we bill several times and they have not even received claims that theranest states that they have.

Not worth the money

Pros

I liked the functionality of the calendar and being able to customize it to meet my needs. There were templates already created in the system

Cons

It was difficult to make your own documents, very costly as your practice grows, and difficult to get ahold of customer service with issues.

Uncomplicated and easy to use

overall, good value. having used other more complicated systems that counties and larger agencies use, TheraNest is unlike those...TheraNest is uncomplicated and designed for therapists.

Pros

easy to navigate, billing is easy, can create standardized forms, can upload documents into client file, agenda and calendar view are helpful, notes are narrative-not drop downs

Cons

no way to communicate with clients within the system or send client documents to review (other than created standard forms)

Alternatives Considered

Reasons for Choosing TheraNest

needed something a bit more sophisticated and didn't like all the drop downs that could lead to insurance clawbacks
