Best thing to come out of 2020…

Overall, I could not be happier with our experience with Filevine. It has exceeded our expectations and truly helped our firm in the last nine months. We were worried about transitioning with our staff, but the process went very smoothly given that we were working remotely at the time. The customer support that we received during our onboarding and integration could not have been better.

Pros

My most loved feature of Filevine is the flexibility to customize it to fit your firm’s needs. It was extremely important to us to pick a case management software that allowed us to customize features based on all Case types that we handle. Filevine was extremely easy to learn and use to fit our firms needs. Additionally, the report writing and Filevine can be used by almost anyone. It is very easy to pull the information that you need in a very short amount of time.

Cons

There are a couple of newer features in Filevine that could improve. For example, the calendar section in Filevine is something that we currently do not use because of confusion on its integration with outlook. Additionally, I wish that Enterprise automation was a little easier to use.

Reasons for Choosing Filevine

Needles was unable to be customized to fit or growing firms needs. We were not able to create the custom fields that we needed to report on our caseloads. Additionally it was not cloud-based which was some thing that we truly needed given the era that we are in.

Reasons for Switching to Filevine

Filevine seemed to be the most advanced case management system at the time that we were shopping. The vendors were able to answer all of my questions about products, integration, adaptability, and daily use. The customer support was top-notch, and our demo was outstanding. As someone who was very hands-on in managing our last case management software, it was critical for me to get the straightforward answers I needed as we were shopping for a new case management software. Filevine was able to offer me the flexibility and customization that I needed as well as being easy to use for our staff.

Customizable Client Management for Attorneys

Overall, we've grown to really enjoy using Filevine. It's been so helpful to be able to customize the software.

Pros

Our company has used Filevine for four years now and during that time we've seen a huge growth within the software. It began as a system we begrudgingly used, to one that we have heavily customized to fit our needs and have recommended to others. The thing I like most about Filevine is the ability to customize their software to fit your companies needs. The storing of client files is not going to be the same firm to firm so having the ability to customize the software to fit our needs is a huge asset.

Cons

We have found that Filevine can be slow or kick users out more often than other websites. In addition, the search feature, while wide, is also inefficient and doesn't show you the most logical result at the top, so you sometimes have to go digging for something you need.

Good software but worst customer service ever

In my view, your company is only as strong as your people. Your product could be the best on the market but if your company is difficult to do business with, people will go elsewhere. At three years into the relationship, I wish we had chosen differently.

Pros

Filevine is actually a good case management system. It's critical that you carefully plan your set-up because it is difficult to make some changes later but a good tool with lots of add-on modules.

Cons

Customer service is as bad as I have ever experienced in any company anywhere. Sending them an email is like shouting to the universe. No one responds. We have had multiple account managers in the 3 years we have been using them and have had the same experience with each one. Billing is horrendous. I am still being billed for modules that I cancelled years ago and have presented proof of the cancellation to them multiple times. They never respond to anything I send - but just keep sending reminder invoices.

Response from Filevine

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration you’ve experienced with our customer service and billing processes.
We strive to provide exceptional support to all our customers, and it’s clear we fell short in your experience. Please know that we’re taking your feedback seriously to improve our processes and ensure a better experience moving forward.

Good, but not Great CMS

Overall our experience at Filevine has been good - but it hasn't been great. We've generally been happy but we've had some concerns with support, customer service, and data storage.

Pros

Filevine is really customizable which is great because we can tailor it to the needs of our firm.

Cons

It is rare that you are able to speak with someone directly at Filevine if you want to implement a new service or need assistance with a feature. They are always referring you to third party vendors. This is an issue because you are paying for customer support as well as the fact that you don't have access to the people actually making the software.

Response from Filevine

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, Belinda.

Filevine Experience

Pros

It is easy to navigate and having the ability to customize the platform to our firms needs has been critical.

Cons

The search bar. When searching for projects in the "search bar", it leaves very little room for error. If you misspell a clients name, or leave out the middle initial it will not suggest projects with similar names. I've always found this odd.

Stay away from Filevine

Horrible. The onboarding is through 3rd party and has significant costs and delays. The service is very poor. The software has many glitches and the wait to get assistance is limited. Additionally, not enough documentation available. The actual product needs a full time tech support or onging subscription to 3rd party. All the features and settings that are done by the user with other software has to be done with a programmer. Software is limited and not worth the costs or the hassle.

Pros

The concept. The idea of a software with a good activity feed and fluid use.

Cons

The actual product, the company behind the product, the sales approach, the support.

Overall Thus Far...

I really enjoyed the training. I'm looking forward to learning more about utilizing FV to its full potential, tips and tricks to help in customizing our firms FV to make it work more conveniently and effectively for our team and our firm.

Pros

FV seems very user friendly and efficient. So many capabilities allowing you to stay w/i FV and ie share folders, send out for electronic signature, PDF edit, combine, etc. All really cool features to be more effective and efficient.

Cons

Surprised that when saving a document into a companion case that is already linked to the primary case that you would have to search each case to also "copy" the document there as well instead of a "copy to all companions" option. Like you can save a "note" across the board to all companions attached.

Paralegal highly recommends Filevine

I have used Filevine for more than a year now. It's the best case management software I have ever used. It's user-friendly. Managing cases and the dozens of documents, emails, records, etc., is so much easier with Filevine. The software is very efficient and easy to navigate.

Pros

Filevine is perfect for personal injury firms. Each client has their own file. The folders and subfolders make document management easy. It works well with Vinesign, the program's e-signature software.

Cons

I really have no complaints. I wish we could add a DOB field for defendants, not just our clients.

Constantly upgrading and improving

Pros

We came to Filevine from a different case management software system. We loved the look of our prior system, but it was not good for much other than document generation and assigning contacts to the file. We looked at a bunch of other options and even tried one before we went with Filevine. We have been using it since and I wouldn't recommend anything else.

There is so much to like about Filevine:
- You can text your clients and they can text you right into their case in Filevine.
- You can filter the main page so you can see all the texts or all the tasks, etc.
- You can share links or .pdfs so easily
- We haven't had 1 hiccup in cloud storage or security
- The best part is the customization because you can have your Filevine look and act however you want it.
- Every Filevine case has a distinct email so that we can either email directly or forward everything we need right to the file.

I could go on and on. The point is, choose Filevine and never look back. You won't regret it!

Cons

The only con so far is directly connected to a pro. Filevine is customizable so the pro is that you can build it to match up with your office. The con that is connected with that is that it takes time to set it up.

Response from Filevine

We really appreciate this thoughtful review, Alexa. This feedback is so helpful. It sounds like you really put the time into finding the best possible platform for your firm, so we're committed to not letting you down!

The diamond standard of legal practice management tools

Filevine has made me far more productive and prolific as a practicing attorney and allowed me to focus on what I am most interested in about the law, because the burden of the drudgery is so incredibly reduced.

Pros

I honestly don't have time to list everything I love about FileVine. The learning curve was not so much about Filevine as it was about how the firm did business. Filevine is so intuitive and easy to learn. Everything about it makes sense. If there's ever a process we have to tweak or revise or add, it's so easy to do.

Cons

I really can't think of any significant downsides to this system. I'm just grateful to have it. Every day.

Response from Filevine

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your thoughtful review, Stephen! We're thrilled to read that you've found Filevine to be the diamond standard and that its made you more productive and prolific in your practice. We really appreciate your feedback and look forward to continuing to support you and your firm moving forward!

Try Filevine you won't be disappointed

I first heard of this at a webinar. Still didn't look into it until 2 years after that. All and all I wish our firm had started using it sooner than we did. Most exciting is the fact that as a office manager I see more and more resumes coming into my office showing applicants have trained on Filevine

Pros

case management side. This tool allows us to reconstruct our files from beginning to end sucessfully

Cons

nothing about the tool itself. It is very relevant that staff fill out all information per file

Response from Filevine

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your informative review, Debbie! We're thrilled to read that you've found it to be beneficial for your case management and organization. We look forward to continuing to support you and your firm!

FILEVINE IS AWESOME AND WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND

I am not computer savvy but find this platform very easy to work with. Again, keeps me organized and on top of job!

Pros

Ease of use- helps keep me organized and to prioritize. Helps others in the company know what is going on with my cases in case coverage is needed and in general with case management.

Cons

Don't really see any-
one time FV did an update/change without letting company know. Led to issues with finding data.

Response from Filevine

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review, Ingrid! We're thrilled to read that you've found the platform to be easy to navigate and able to keep you organized and informed on your cases! Appreciate your support.

The best case management software available.

I am happy to use and work on this platform. The best part is the report section. Earlier, we used to do everything in Excel or Google spreadsheet and those were manual entries. But now we have all the data in hand. Thanks to the REPORT generation feature in FV.

Pros

FV is user friendly unlike other CMS's.

Cons

FV pdf editor lacks features which is available in adobe pdf.

Thank you for leaving your kind review, Sumit. We appreciate you making the transition to Filevine from AbacusLaw and look forward to continuing to work with you!

Love Filevine!

Pros

The ease of use, the ability to text clients and receive responses, the document sharing ability. Being able to put emails in the project with the project email address. Being able to use the product anywhere I have an internet connection and it being fully functional.

Cons

Doc merge is not very intuitive. When things stop working, it takes a while sometimes for it to be fixed. Still waiting for the ability to save received emails to the project by searching.

Filevine review

Pros

Ease of use and lots of options to assist in optimizing your case management system. I love the all in one type nature of Filevine and its continued effort to improve and increase offerings to clientele. Most functions are very intuitive and there is a clear vision to help law firms automate all sorts of tasks that take up time.

Cons

Some of the additional functions are not as developed as I would like. Some issues do not appear until you actually get to use and play around with the new function. Also, some of the automations and small fixes are slow to get implemented.

Response from Filevine

Overall Positive Impressions, with Room for Improvement

Overall, my experience with Filevine has been very positive. There are some things that I think can be improved, but overall it's a very good program.

Pros

Secure cloud-based storage of sensitive documents, ability to customize layout and settings, drag-and-drop document upload, the ability to fax documents directly from the page (rather than relying on having to print and manually fax them), and the ability to auto-generate form documents (records request letters, etc.).

Cons

I wish documents, once saved to file, could be re-ordered manually, rather than just relying on their order of upload as the only way of sorting them within an area of Filevine.

Response from Filevine

Thank you for your review and feedback, Tyler. We're looking forward to continuing to grow alongside you.
