# crossbase

Canonical: https://www.softwareadvice.co.nz/software/374946/crossbase

> With the integrated crossbase PIM/MAM/DAM and CMS solution, all relevant processes relating to international product and corporate communication are supported and automated. The following are its features:

Flexible data model - Although crossbase is a standard software, the product data model can be adapted to all needs. Products and variants can be presented in different ways, for example market and target group specific or function oriented. Product relationships like accessories, part lists, sets and recommendations can be easily mapped.
- Easy administration - Due to the comprehensive flexibility, the administrator can define all basic rules and settings. All requirements can be implemented by configuring the product data model via a graphical user interface. To optimize data maintenance, mandatory fields and inheritance possibilities can be defined.
- Product features - Product features are used to describe products and can be grouped into maintenance classes and output classes for different output channels. This allows product tables to be generated automatically and defined characteristics to be used for filters in online catalogs.
- Product views - Products usually are displayed in different views. In the ERP system, products are structured differently than for design, marketing or trade partners. With crossbase, any number of views for output channels and target groups can be mapped.
- Product relationships - Product relationships typically are maintained in ERP or PDM systems. Normally they are incomplete for comprehensive product communication. In crossbase any type of relationship can be defined. With comprehensive data maintenance functions, relationships between articles can be maintained quickly and easily.
- Customer-specific structures -The crossbase database can be flexibly extended by additional views and structures like the mapping of market-specific sales channels, application-related contexts, further product hierarchies or media structures.
- Configurator - When selecting products that require explanation, product finders are very useful as intelligent selection aids. These lead the user to the suitable product, e.g. via specific tasks. With the crossbase configurator, rules can be created to determine the suitable variants for product characteristics.
- Media Asset Management (MAM) - In crossbase similar media files are combined in media- and language-neutral "media elements". They can then be broken down into market-specific countries, industries and target groups. Media files within one media element contain different output formats, languages, and versions.
- MAM interface - Existing image databases, PDM, MAM and DAM systems can be connected via the MAM standard interface. When importing into the crossbase database, the graphics converter can be used to generate derivatives. During export, a time-control check is performed to determine which files are new in the system and need to be transferred.
- REST API - With the API server, all data in the database can be queried and used in third-party applications. The API server is further developed by crossbase to ensure releaseability. This ensures that all queries remain functional in the future. The data objects are configured on the basis of a framework to suit the customer-specific use case. Thus, any services can be implemented and extended quickly and efficiently.
- Archive server - This module enables the traceability of published product information for all output channels. For this purpose, contents in the database can be defined customer-specifically and backed up differentially on a daily basis. By means of a graphical interface, the information on a product can be clearly displayed at any time.
