I have found the tech service to be fast, friendly, and responsive. If you have any issues or want to see a new feature, just let them know. I have been using GeoHECRAS regularly for over seven years. I have seen several of my requested features and fixes incorporated into the program. Switching from HEC-RAS to GeoHECRAS is easy and intuitive, since it the workflows are similar and the hydraulic engine is the same. GeoHECRAS models can be easily exported to HEC-RAS format when necessary (or when the client requires it). > > **Cons**: I have used GeoHECRAS regularly for over 7 years and have run into a few problems here and there. Sometimes the problem was with the program, sometimes with my settings or data. Either way, tech service takes care of it quickly, usually within a few hours. Models that would have taken weeks to create can be constructed in days. The productivity gain over standard HEC-RAS is immense. The range of tools for creating models quickly is incredible - from using CAD/shapfiles to setup river networks to drawing in cross-sections and extracting their geometry from terrain files. GeoHECRAS keeps you organized and maintains all spatial extents/distances for you automatically. We extensively work with CAD and GIS files, so GeoHECRAS integrated extremely well with our company's workflow. CAD files can be directly imported into GecHECRAS and used to create streams, cross-sections, and elevation terrains. All GeoHECRAS models and results can be exported back to CAD and shapefiles easily to be included in report figures. > > **Cons**: GeoHECRAS interface can at times be a little slow when working with very large and complex files.
