It is a lot to get up and going, and takes a very committed team to make it worthwhile, but once you do, it's smooth sailing. There are a lot of ways you can use the software to manage the safety and performance of your contractors. It makes your requirements plain, and easy to see where you are in need of improvement. It also makes it very easy to rank companies against one another. It has made our industry safer - everyone has to level up. > > **Cons**: It requires a committed team, and a lot of ongoing babysitting. Depending on customer or your own requirements, you must login and do some management on a weekly, if not daily basis. Not that its a bad thing - but it will require time and energy to implement into your business. > > I believe I have a somewhat unique position, as I have used this software as both a contractor who submitted information to hiring clients, and then later as a hiring client who required contractors to submit information to us. At first, when our clients were requiring us to buy and use this software, I thought it was a scam. But after using it, and seeing how it leveled the playing field, in terms of vetting and ranking safety programs, I became a huge fan, and even pushed to have our company use it for our own subcontracting processes. It can be a lot to implement, but ISNet walks you through the process in a very organized manner. It will provide you will step by step information that you need to include in your written programs. It will provide you with updates when deadlines are approaching and what is still required to complete. > > **Cons**: They are trying to be to much for one single site. Customer support is very poor In order to omit and change certain points that are not applicable the steps to complete make it next to impossible to create. When I launch our revised trade partner qualification process, I will not recommend ISNetworld to manage compliance issues now that I have experienced its inefficiencies as a GC. > > **Cons**: The analysts are either intentionally obtuse and obstructive or not able to engage in the analytical exercise required to review policies. If policies are not a verbatim regurgitation of their posed questions, no credit will be given even where it is clear that (1) the policy actually DOES address the required subject matter and (2) the policy conforms with state and federal law. Example: Our policy on trenching requires that a barricade be erected around every well, pit, trench or opening; every single one of them. When asked how workers in trenches are protected from vehicular traffic, the analyst was referred to the exact place in the policy that requires barricades around trenches. This answer was repeatedly rejected, and I can only assume (because you can't actually SPEAK to someone) that the rejection is because the clause, "To protect Workers in trenches from vehicular traffic" does not appear before the language which indicates that barricades should be erected around all trenches. Barricades are required for a number of reasons, including to provide warning and protection from vehicular traffic. It is asinine to revise a policy, coordinate the release of that policy to all employees and trade partners, collect acknowledgements, then train on the revised policy when the revision doesn't change work processes. To participate in the exercise ISNetworld requires is how companies arrive at safety policies that are nothing more than word salad dressed up as a safety program. Furthermore, there is unnecessary redundancy in processes. Each and every year, we have to parry back and forth for a number of weeks over the same waiver of subrogation issue even though it has been explained time and time again that Ohio law does not permit a waiver of subrogation on workers compensation matters. As a compliance company, this simple fact of law is one that ISNetworld should be acquainted with and adjust its process accordingly. Finally, It is exceedingly difficult to speak to an actual person regarding any outstanding issues and the user interface is clunky. > > It is clear to me that ISNetworld is not concerned with a company's actual commitment to the safety of its workers. There appears to be very little understanding of how to apply OSHA regulations to the practical execution of work.
