Best SMS platform out there!
Pros
Emotive is by far my favorite SMS platform...and I have tried them all! They have an incredible integration with Shopify that allows us to seamlessly collect leads from popups and push them into our Shopify. Their UI is so easy to use and they have tons of templates that you can pull from. They also have a great Slack community where you can connect with other users and get helpful tips and tricks. The list goes on and on with this company. I can't suggest them enough!!

Scammers - stay away
They charged me for a bunch of unsent SMS campaigns - I lost thousands of revenue from their ability to not deliver on big sales and product launch days. Instead of apologies they are not refunding the money to me. Again no texts were sent, they are charging as though they were and not refunding me. It's been months of back and forth emails and thousands of dollars lost. LOOK ELSEWHERE - IT A SCAM

Increase your ROI w/ Conversational Messaging by Emotive
Emotive consistently generates a 35X ROI each and every month for my clients. Some of my clients see even greater ROI, and it all has to do with conversational messaging which allows shoppers to interact and speak to a real person via SMS.
A lot of SMS services allow for broadcast messaging (a la email blasts), but Emotive's approach is a bit different which allows for your shoppers to actually respond to any message you send. Emotive was exactly what we were looking for in an SMS platform. It's a high-touch experience and they provide plenty of resources to help you succeed, between their onboarding specialists, customer success managers, and copywriters. It's a sophisticated platform and has been driving big signup and sales numbers for us.

Emotive SMS
Emotive has made it very easy to reach out to our SMS list with great segmenting options, awesome support (who will even write your texts for you), & an intuitive user interface. When Emotive created its own pop-up for gathering phone numbers and email addresses from customers, JC and the support team took care of the entire migration for us. This is definitely a good option for businesses using SMS marketing.

Emotive has a good support team for SMS. They helped us migrate over to their native pop-up, answered questions, and wrote 1st drafts of text messages for us.
Cons
On the Attribution side it would sometimes take weeks to get responses to questions. However, if you're only using them for SMS, the support team there is great.

Strategic & organized
When I don’t understand something or have questions, they always take time to explain.

As a person new to using SMS marketing I wasn’t sure what to look for. Emotive knows what they are doing to help small businesses, they are a full service provider, organized, helpful with strategy and listen to my requests. I recommend this team.

Was a big fan - but NOTE that they've changed services - no more CSM. Feature updates needed!
I loved Emotive at the start. While there were feature updates that were (and still are) desperately needed (e.g. keyword trigger, better analytics, better subscriber profile data, etc), their service was top notch. Now, with the cost-savings move of removing the CSM team, they are just an overpriced version of many other SMS marketing tools. We're going to be reaching out to other providers we tested in the sales process to consider switching. Why pay more for the same service? The access to a dedicated support team was a huge benefit, but was removed under the guise of "new benefits"
That being said, the ROI has been great. But we can achieve similar results with another, lower cost provider that follows through on promises made in the sales cycle.

Relatively easy to set up, configures with Wisepops (although it seems that are going to be doing away with that benefit, too). Great ROI return
Cons
Was a huge fan of their included resources - a dedicated CSM & copywriter. However, they announced that those are gone and customers no longer have access to any personalized resources. Instead they have a "strategy team" which is a faceless group of people who you can contact via a Zendesk form. They also have webinars to replace the CSM relationship, but in my experience, these have not been valuable to our brand (almost entirely just heavy sales tricks - not community building ideas)

We’ve tried plenty of SMS tools in the past, and so far, most of them fall short. But Emotive? It’s a whole different story. Emotive has consistently helped our eCommerce clients pull in solid leads and real-world sales. Case in point: in just our first three months, we tripled our SMS opt-ins. Yup, 3x.

The platform itself is super intuitive, but what really stands out is their support. Need help? You’re not filling out tickets or waiting for days—you’re literally one text away from someone jumping in to save the day.
Cons
Pricing can scale quickly: While it’s affordable for small brands, be aware—if you start seeing major success, the cost will rise along with your results. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something to keep an eye on.

Easy Set Up

No longer a good service . Overpriced and overcharged
If you want to be charged thousands of dollars for no reason, by all means sign up for Emotive. Things started out OK as we were dealing with good people who seemed to care if the brand was successful on their platform but over time that shifted to money hungry people who wanted to get us to send as many messages as possible with no regard for ROI (which was severely lacking). The last few months they have taken to arbitrarily adding charges to our bill and refusing to refund them. They have now overcharged me by $1300 in the last 45 days. We also had broadcasts that were set to go at a particular time that instead were sent at odd hours. This pissed off our customers and we were still required to pay for those messages.We did change providers and were told by the new provider that the Emotive customers are dropping like flies . Emotive continues to charge me even though we changed providers. They laid off all of the people we liked too. Bad company, dirty practices.

Get Everything In Writing

I cannot in good conscience provide any positive outlook as their customer service and billing practices overshadow anything good.

First of all, they bill on a quarterly basis, which for a small business is a lot of money to commit up front. the reason for this negative review (which I have never previously taken the time to do for any company)....
We consolidated our sms with our email partner (Klaviyo) to both save money and eliminate duplicating efforts. I had a conversation with one of their reps, [SENSITIVE CONTENT], prior to the final quarterly billing to see if they would accommodate our desire to cut our Emotive ties since we had moved sms to Klaviyo. Over what seemed to be a very gracious and fruitful conversation, he confirmed that he would accommodate our request and that we would no longer be billed. I took him on his word and failed (my bad) to follow up in writing. They, of course, since they had a credit card on file with them, charged me the $1,200 for the next quarter. When I reached out to [SENSITIVE CONTENT] to rectify the situation, he said that we never discussed this and to refer to the email he sent (which doesn't exist - I had cc'd support at Emotive so he was doing his best CMA dance). And repeated follow-ups with customer service were futile, and [SENSITIVE CONTENT] has since ghosted me, never returning another email. He is a chiseler.
If you do decide to work with them, my advice: don't sign a long-term agreement and make sure you get everything in writing. You're dealing with a duplicitous organization.

What I love most about emotive is that their team is constantly sending out guides to help you up your SMS messaging game. That being said they do a great job of reaching out when they think a campaign is going to be beneficial to our company. Along with that, the app is so easy to use and makes for a quick process.

Great experience with Emotive as a whole. From start to current their team has been honest, transparent, and a joy to work with. What a trial period
Extremely positive, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] was our implementation specialist and she was very helpful in answering ALL of our questions and boy did we have a lot. She took the extra time to walk us through each and every part of the tool and we also had lots of questions after we got set up which she answered thoroughly.
