## Reviews

### "A must-have for image analysts" — 5.0/5

> **Alexandre Binh Minh** | *30 August 2022* | Research | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Totally free to use, this helps every student and researcher extract information from images in a quick and efficient way. Multiple functions such as regions of interest, gray scale, time-series plotting which are useful for treating series of images in a fundamental level.
>
> **Cons**: Limited to 1000 images opened at a time and 5000 images per stack. Real-time image analysis is not yet an option.
>
> I am generally happy with the software since as a physics/mechanics student, predetermine the goal of my experiments and select the interesting data sets so that I never had to capture and analyze live images. For other applications such as in audio vision related fields, this software might appear a bit slow to use, but for educational and fundamental research purposes, ImageJ is a must.

### "A Versatile and Powerful Tool for Image Analysis, with a Steep Learning Curve" — 5.0/5

> **Andualem** | *5 March 2023* | Biotechnology | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: 1.Free and open-source: ImageJ is a free software that can be downloaded and used by anyone, making it accessible to researchers, students, and hobbyists.2.Versatile and powerful: ImageJ has a wide range of features and plugins that can be used for image analysis, processing, and visualization, making it useful for a variety of applications.3.Customizable and extensible: ImageJ allows users to develop and share their own plugins and scripts, making it a flexible and adaptable tool that can be tailored to specific needs.
>
> **Cons**: 1.Steep learning curve: ImageJ has a complex user interface and requires some knowledge of programming and image analysis to use effectively, which can be a barrier for beginners.2.Limited support: While ImageJ has a large community of users and developers, it does not have formal technical support, which can make it difficult to troubleshoot problems or get help with advanced features.3.Limited documentation: While there are many resources available online, some users may find that the documentation for ImageJ is not always clear or comprehensive.
>
> I find it to be a powerful and versatile tool for image analysis and processing. Its open-source nature allows me to use it without any additional cost, and its large community of users provides support and plugins that expand its functionality. However, I have also experienced challenges with ImageJ, particularly when it comes to its steep learning curve and limited documentation and support resources. Despite these difficulties, I believe that ImageJ is a valuable tool for my research needs, and with practice and dedication, I have been able to use it to analyze and process image data in ways that would not be possible with other tools.

### "Good app for statistical analysis of images" — 4.0/5

> **Leila** | *1 December 2023* | Research | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Image J is a free app that has several useful image processing features. it can easily change the brightness or color of an image. and can give statistical analysis for pore size, particle size, area % or length of the features.
>
> **Cons**: One of the things that I don't like about ImageJ is that if you draw a line and want to draw the second one, usually the first one will disappear unless you click a button to make sure it is saved on the image.
>
> I have been using ImageJ to process optical microscopy images to measure the % of pores and second phase particles and measure the grain size in different materials. It is an easy to use and inexpensive(free) app with a lot of good features. Although, there are some features that could be improved like the drawing several lines at the same time, or image color threshold.

### "Analisi rapida di immagini scientifiche" — 5.0/5

> **Verified Reviewer** | *31 January 2023* | Higher Education | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>

> **Pros**: \>ImageJ an open source software.
\>The interface is clean and simple.
\>The features are infinite where one can edit and process images without tampering its originality.
\>ImageJ is widely accepted in scientific world.
\>Features like stacks, measure and object selection are very useful.
\>One can also add custom plugins to perform various image processing.
>
> **Cons**: \>The memory is limited so that only a restricted number of images can be loaded.
\>The user interface has an older look which can be improved to enhance user experience.
