About Adobe XD

Adobe XD is an on-premise user experience/user interface (UX/UI) tool, which helps businesses design applications and websites by configuring layouts, components, effects and more. Managers can save created assets within a cloud-based repository and share them with team members according to requirements. Professionals can add animations, navigation menus, audio, custom passwords, user flows and other elements to designs. Adobe XD allows businesses to create interactions using gaming controllers or keyboards and preview mobile prototypes on iOS and Android devices. Additionally, designers can draw shapes, paths and lines for interface layouts or elements. Adobe XD facilitates integration with several third-party systems such as Jira, Microsoft Teams, Zeplin, Slack and more. The product is available on monthly subscriptions and support is extended via live chat, documentation, video tutorials and forums.

The ideal way to achieve a smooth user interface design starts from here.

I trusted this program to create a responsive design This allows me to create, edit and delete custom artboards I can use a set of sized templates to create a responsive website in no time. Additionally, when you change a desktop project your modifications will be applied to the mobile version by default and I am impressed.

Pros

It can be accessed from anywhere whether from desktop computers, laptops or smartphones, in addition to its distinctive role in using a variety of frames, diagrams, prototypes, symbols, images and fonts that help me create more smooth and creative models.

Cons

Some processes can be slow It may take time to select all the elements and drag and drop them into the program Additionally it is difficult to rearrange flowcharts quickly.

Pros

The interface is clean. It's a close environment to Adobe Photoshop. And transferring elements between Adobe products is easy.

what i think about Adobe XD

My overall experience with Adobe XD was exciting and innovative, as it felt like using a magic pen to design ideas. For instance, when I designed a cooking app, I was able to create an interactive prototype that allowed users to navigate through recipes easily, and I added interactions that made the process more dynamic.

Pros

What I liked most about Adobe XD is its seamless and fast interface design capabilities, which make the creative process easier. The collaboration and commenting tools allow the team to interact and provide feedback in real time, enhancing the experience of teamwork.

Cons

What I liked least about Adobe XD was the occasional performance lag when working on complex designs or large files. Additionally, some advanced features can feel a bit limited compared to other design tools

A new tool with a familiar face

Users of Creative Cloud services will find a somewhat similar workspace and familiar key shortcuts

Pros

The main aspects for me were both how easy it is to collaborate with coworkers within the same projects and how the cross-platform feature makes it easy to move things around when using different operational systems

Cons

The lack of some plugins is a downside, as is the fact that it heavily relies on Adobe Suite support and payment plans, which at times isn't the most consumer-friendly

Adobe XD is a great tool for prototyping and interface designing

My overall experience is great with adobe XD why because because the i have almost all the tools in one place and can use it for most of my work without going anywhere else

Pros

I like the fact that has most of the tools available inside it so i can use it for multiple tasks and do not have to go anywhere else. I can create wireframes, prototypes, interface designs etc at the same place.

Cons

Installing plugins and sometime the compatibility is very very hard. Cause you have to have adobe cloud app installed on your machine to use it with full functionality and install plugins. It should be stand alone and i do not want to dedicate my whole laptop to one family of softwares.

Web design and presentation materials are possible with intuitive work.

It's a good thing it's basic and easy to use. I believe that anyone can create a user interface using this. It's much lighter than Illustrator or Photoshop, and it never hardens. Because you can link to other Adobe CC products, it's a good idea to pick colors and fonts from there and apply them similarly. It is used as a basis for photo layout and works well with classic Illustrator and Photoshop.

Pros

It is beneficial when establishing and managing a complete project as a UI design. Component setups, grid repetition, and responsive scaling are all UI layouts that necessitate a consistent format. A program that was just added as a new Adobe CC add-on. It can create a wide range of user interfaces, including WEB design, quickly. In addition to static photographs, you may use the include option to create pages with motion comparable to the site's image. Most of them are utilized in web design, but they may also be used extensively to generate presentation materials and activities of other parts.

Cons

I was initially surprised since the feel was slightly different as someone who has spent a long time creating web designs in Illustrator/Photoshop.

Alternatives Considered

InVision App

Reasons for Choosing Adobe XD

Recommendation for user interface, web, and other designers. I made the image in Dreamweaver and used it in the final code. You may also export it in sections from Dreamweaver, which can speed up the coding procedure.

Switched From

Sketch

Reasons for Switching to Adobe XD

Because there is a facility to exchange data and make comments, you can save the hassle of transmitting data each time and point out the correction section, which is highly beneficial when you can't meet in person due to working from home, etc. Furthermore, before releasing it on the web, you should verify the actual movement of the drill to ensure that it is easy to understand and correct.

Nice simple app for wireframing

Great app and tool, not so great subscription payment terms that are easy to misinterpret.

Pros

Easy, no frills app is great for wireframing low fidelity. Other tools have too many features and you can quickly get stuck down the high fidelity route. AdobeXD keeps you high level.

Cons

Adobe lock-in pricing. Billed monthly but committed for 12 months. Easy to overlook when signing up and not a fun experience when you realise it.

The best UI UX desingner you'll ever need

Pros

It has a clean and intuitive user interface making it easier for even beginners. XD offers collaboration tools such as sharing for review, commenting, and design specs, which facilitate communication between designers, stakeholders, and developers. Designers can create interactive prototypes and preview how their designs will function, providing a more realistic user experience.

Cons

While Adobe XD is generally user-friendly, there might still be a learning curve for individuals who are new to design tools or those transitioning from other design software. Some users have reported occasional performance issues, especially when working on complex and large projects. However, updates are regularly released to address such issues.

Pros

One of the most powerful solution for prototyping material, UX, App and Webdesign

Adobe XD is very intuitive and easy to pick up. Even if you are not a designer at all and have only been using wireframe tools like Balsamiq, I am willing to bet that you’ll pick up the basics within a few days and be off to the races on your first project!

Pros

Is good to see that Adobe has finally developed a tool based on UX & UI design. It’s similar to Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop but without the bloat. They are finally putting UX and UI designers first with this tool and building a competitor to Sketch. The Artboard feature of Adobe XD is cool. It is also interesting because the same Adobe XD project helps you to build screens for different platforms (e.g. smartphone + web). I really like the prototyping feature. The software lets you collaborate and give feedback to each other. Because design has a lot of subjective parts to it, this is a great feature for people to give feedback in a collaborative approach.

Cons

It’s a little annoying that there aren’t any text editing options. For example, there is no underline option; instead, you must draw each underlines with a stroke. That means you then have to select and group the text with the underline when you want to duplicate or move that element around. It’s weird, and it slows me down. The same is true when changing text to, say, all capital letters, title casing, or anything similar.

Positive Experience Creating High-Fidelity Mockups with Adobe XD

Overall, my experience with Adobe XD has been very positive. It is an excellent tool for creating mockups of websites and mobile applications, and it is easy to use for collaborating with other team members. However, if you are looking for a solution for advanced vector drawing creation, you may need to use specialized software such as Adobe Illustrator.

Pros

What I like the most about Adobe XD is its high-fidelity mockup creation functionality. With this feature, I can easily create interactive mockups that give a better idea of the final user experience. Additionally, I appreciate the ease with which I can collaborate with other team members on projects, using the sharing and commenting features.

Cons

However, what I find a bit disappointing in Adobe XD is its vector drawing creation functionality. Although the software is capable of creating basic shapes, I find that it lacks some advanced features that can be found in dedicated vector drawing software.

Adobe XD: Great tool for Prototyping, wireframe and UI/UX designs

Adobe XD excels at prototyping and sharing designs with clients, thanks to its user-friendly interface and robust community support. However, its subscription-based strategy is costly for small firms, and the absence of offline capabilities can be limitations.

Pros

Adobe Xd provides a simple and easy option to share a prototype with the client and closed user group. Great user interface, simple to use, and an easy learning curve. Best option for prototyping and beneficial in some design tasks where vector related software is not required. I we have any questions or queries we have a community support which is one of the great option to resolve issues

Cons

Cost is one of the major factor when it come to any Adobe products. Small and medium business are not ready to afford these tools. Initially it was free to use but now I think we have to pay $10 ever month. Another drawback is that it lacks the offline work mode option.

Decent for small files, too slow for large files

I feel like Adobe stopped developing XD after they acquired Figma. As an Adobe suite user, I don't understand why they don't just include it as part of it so we can use it.

Pros

I like how I can drag designs from Adobe Illustrator in with minimal editing. My developers can design things more accurately when I send them XD files.

Cons

I don't like how slow it is, and how it doesn't work well with large detailed files. I have to separate docs to reduce the file size, it's quite inconvenient. It's also harder than it should be to animate things and to show transitions to demonstrate how something works in a new UI design.

Alternatives Considered

Reasons for Switching to Adobe XD

I didn't, my company just didn't want to pay the premium. Figma is a much better application.

Adobe XD review

My experience has been positive, I grasped the essentials simply enough beyond minor differences compares to other software and whenever anything new comes along there are a wide variety of tutorials both official and by other creatives to find advanced functions. After importing art assets made with other Adobe programs there is a major satisfaction in seeing your carefully made digital design pieces link together and form a cohesive narrative, functioning as a singular design in tandem.

Pros

Adobe XD is a fairly simple to learn program for handling front-end app/website design and interplays easily within the Adobe program framework by importing designs from their suite. It does have a steeper learning curve than Illustrator for example in my opinion, but it is integral in clearly building a flow between pages on a digital display. The animation methods in it let even a novice create common menus and transitions which is encouraging.

Cons

It can take getting used to in understanding the overall actions menu which has less options visible than are shown by default in other Adobe offerings like Photoshop. As well there are two areas split between design and prototyping to learn.

The prototyping features in Adobe XD are fantastic. Creating interactive flows and transitions is seamless, and the ability to share prototypes with clients for feedback is invaluable.

Cons

It is great for UI design but it lacks robust features for creating complex illustrations or graphics.

A good software for beginners

As a general experience it is good all things considered, but as already mentioned it is a software that can be improved enormously and which has not expressed its full potential

Pros

The main thing I like is that it is a software that is part of the Adobe ecosystem, so its interface is very friendly if you are already a user of Adobe softwares. Also you can take advantage of all the collaboration/teamwork and invoicing functions made available from Adobe

Cons

On certain functions such as animations and graphics it is very basic, it is very good for beginners or for those who need to do quick prototyping without too many demands

What I love about Adobe XD as a designer

As a web designer, I use Adobe XD to make my design project. Before I would just jump on WordPress but since I learnt how to use Adobe XD, I am more confident as I design before jumping into the project. Giving room for clients to review and edit.

Pros

When I learnt UI/UX, I started with Adobe XD. It was easy to learn and within weeks I was able to start designing and prototyping projects especially web designs. Adobe XD makes design fun, and it's easy to learn as well

Cons

The pricing was too much, also sometimes I had to close the app to restart for it to function. Sometimes I can't save my work and I end up starting all over. Most of this issue was with the free version. I started with the free version at first during my course as a UI/UX designer.

Great Tool for Prototype

Pros

I've been using Adobe XD for more than 3 years. For me, it is my first option when I need to prototype websites, apps, and user interfaces. It is easy to use and the interface is very friendly.

Cons

Maybe it is getting old, other tools are more connected with the designer's modern needs.

The much simpler and faster way to design user experiences

As a designer, putting experiences together including interactivity is made simple by Adobe XD. It simplifies and speeds up the workflow especially with the export and sharing of mockups with developers. A breeze.

Pros

This Ux design tool is a natural product to add to your arsenal if you use Adobe products to design and produce content. It makes interface design much faster and simpler.

Cons

The management of groups and layers could be better.

It's a powerful tool for design consistency and great workflow

Adobe XD helps to save time on work and enables me to add awesome animations to my projects. It's a better way for me to learn while doing.

Pros

I use Adobe XD for web design and user experience purposes. For me, it's a great tool because it's time-saving and quality-driven.I use it to create web page user interfaces. It's pretty simple and offers more extensive features as compared to if I had to work only with website builders (that are somewhat limited). After creating the user interface, I export them in individual elements such as PNG or JPG files and sometimes PDF (for the entire page) which I use directly into WordPress using Elementor. It's an innovative way for me to get projects done on time whenever I feel they're bulky and I'm somehow pressurised by customers.Adobe XD empowers my designs with powerful animations that I could realize using extra tools like GSAP or similar alternatives. It's ease-of-use and versatility makes it one of my most recommended software for both web design and web development.

Cons

Like any other Adobe product, XD can sometimes be challenging - with its extensive features, it can appear to be hard to learn and adapt to but with time, everything is because of a child's play.

Great tool if you already have the Creative Cloud, otherwise look elsewhere

Overall Adobe XD is a great tool to build out UX/UI stuff if you already have the creative cloud, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't

Pros

Adobe XD is user friendly, and the ability to share mockups is easy

Cons

It's more expensive and not as user friendly as Figma in my opinion

Wireframe heaven!

Overall, Adobe XD is a wonderful wire frame and general planning software for small teams looking to formulate a plan prior to building their website or app.

Pros

I love the ability to wireframe out websites and apps and make button connections to show where certain items will need to link together. Thus, allowing for a more functional website.

Cons

This initial learning curve off Adobe XD is relatively steep and training other team members can be tedious.

Great for beginners to web design

Pros

I appreciate how easy it is to use. Compared to other website design and prototyping products, it's the best introductory software with just enough options to properly test and yet simple enough for anyone to learn and learn quickly.

Cons

It does have limited abilities and functionalities, especially compared to others but to be fair, that's part of the appeal.

How to improve Adobe XD

Pros

Using the Adobe XD we can understand easily about user story and Acceptance Criteria when I build the web application.

Or We can discuss more detail with the well-defined UI in the team.

Cons

While I was building web design, I felt that it was a bit difficult to manage the image. It means, it was difficult to download or snapshot image of UI which I want to use.

As a engineer, it should be improved to make user experience easily.

Better Software out there

Pros

Adobe XD was easy to use and fit well into the Adobe CS ecosystem.

Cons

As Adobe XD has been discontinued, its development and support has stalled and there are better prototyping tools out there. I've only still got it to view legacy projects.

Very good software for web development

Pros

Easy to use. I use it for creating wireframes mostly and also work in collaboration with designers and developers for specifications.

Cons

I believe the software is being depreciated. There was an issue with some police sizes not representing an actual size when on the website.
