Easy to use and administer product
Pros
Boss811 is very simple to set up. It's a no-code solution for anyone to set up assignment rules in just minutes.
Cons
The reporting customization needs more help. We're always wanting to see up-to-date live reports that I can create very quickly and easily and be able to download as CSV.

Extremely Helpful Tool for both damage prevention and public awareness
I oversee the data, 811 centers and related aspects of our damage prevention and public awareness efforts. The BOSS811 system makes my job easier, allows me to stay organized and in compliance. We had function requests such as tickets near me feature and enhancing the manifest - the team was able to create that quickly and it performs very well.
Pros
The 811 ticket management system allows us to route tickets efficiently, adjust routing rules as needed. The reports are a daily tool for our team, and we are now using the documents feature for several tasks across various departments.
Cons
We have had a great experience all year, and no issues.

A step in the right direction
Good. Eliminated recurring charges for landlines, fax machine and supplies.
Pros
It was nice to no longer be dependent on fax machines, land line service, or fax internet services.
Cons
While Boss811 offers custom reporting, for a fee, the finished reports never worked as advertised. As a customer with more than one structure to protect, having a report that includes accurate data organized by structure would save my employee's time. For regulatory purposes, our organization needs to be able to provide data for each individual structure so employees have to collect that data manually.

We have been thrilled with our experience with BOSS811, their team has been so understanding of our communities needs and has worked with us each step of the way to achieve our goals.
Pros
What I like most about BOSS811 is how easy it is to use, we are a larger community who receives a large amount of PA One Call tickets and this software allows us to manage them efficiently, allow us to stay in compliance with regulations.
Cons
I have not found a feature on BOSS811 that I don't find usefull.

Large Gas and Electric Utility loves using Boss811
Everyone from Boss811 wants to help us and deliver an excellent product. Our users are all big fans of the product and know we can rely on the system to work exactly the way we created it.
Pros
My favorite part of Boss811 is the Map view. It allows users the ability to see plotted tickets on a map colored by due date if that is your preference. This has been visually intuitive for all new users and supervisors.
Cons
As an admin, I would want the ability to view/change someone's profile without copying their dashboard to another profile.

Pros
I enjoy the ease in searching for tickets with keywords.
Cons
The lack of customization for the dashboard. Having the option of setting up different dashboards and arranging widgets without restrictions would be a nice addition. I also would like widgets capable of giving me results for a more advanced search. The prebuilt widgets limit what I can use the dashboard for.

Boss811 Rocks!
Pros
Boss811 has helped us streamline our business efficiencies tremendously. We wished that we had heard of the company even sooner! The user friendliness and ability to transfer locates directly to another user and not sending back to the office was a huge benefit for us. Overall, no complaints here and best company decision we have made in a long time. The transition to the new system was a fairly easy process as well.

As a COOP, we get a lot of locates. BOSS811 sorts the fiber from the electric so I do not have to comb through everything on the electric side.

Simple to use interface which makes it easy to navigate.

The inability to prevent somebody from reopening a ticket by simply replying to email. It would nice if when you close a ticket, that after 24 hours it can’t be opened again by somebody saying “thanks” on email reply and only by forcing a person to create new ticket.

Replaced our internal ticket tracking with BOSS811. Glad we did.
We had invested thousands trying to get our internal Ticket Management System updated. The project was over a year behind and well over budget. We pulled the plug on the programmer and went with Boss811 instead. Should have done it a year earlier.
Pros
Has all the features you will probably ever need plus a lot that you may not need today, but may need in the future. Our field personnel love it.
Cons
It would be nice if Boss811 included property lines, such as are available with the Regrid app. Had a few hits lately where either the excavator or our locator "assumed" where the property ended and they were wrong on tickets saying "Locate Entire Property". We are using the Regrid (free) app when we need to, but if Boss811 could use the same property line database, it could show property lines in the ticket map.
