Your Asset Management Solution
Feature to define custom metadata fields fits our needs most appropriately. Elevate our digital asset management game with Bynder. Harness the power of its advanced features and experience the difference it makes for our organization.
Pros
Safeguard the important digital resources with the help of the highly effective security system offered by Bynder. Rely on Bynder to safeguard your assets and offer an assurance that your valuable content is safe with us.
Cons
It should be noted that in the asset comparison tool, there is no ability to view two files side by side. Here there is a drawback of video editing: it is rather restrictive, and where major changes have to be made, they have to be done outside the platform.

Bynder good but not great
Very mid experience. We transitioned from WebDAM and most preferred if we could have stayed. The team at Bynder did not help us with the transition very well and ultimately it took a full year to get the DAM transferred. They cut us off of API access a week before our contract expired and tried to sell special services to get us to transfer files out. Fortunately we had already completed the transfer to our new DAM by then.
Pros
API was nice. Product technically was a DAM.
Cons
User experience was poor. Users really hated the flat structure of the database, they preferred working in folders. Finding resources using the metadata available wasn't great either. Their search engine failed us and was quirky.

Excellent service from the very start
Pros
Bynder has a great UI/UX interface and is easy to use. Not only that, it allows for efficiencies within our business to find and share files amongst our global locations - something that was difficult and time consuming before. The onboarding process and setup was super simple and we had all the support we needed. It's flexible enough to customise, whilst still maintaining the great features Bynder offers.
Cons
I think some features and integrations were cost prohibitive, but that's a product of the SaaS market we find ourselves in - the DAM itself is great value for money.

The system for sharing assets with the external public should work out-of-box.

Bynder has significantly improved our team's ability to collaborate on marketing materials. With its comment and approval features, we can quickly resolve feedback and get campaigns launched on time.

Would recommend despite complaints
Pros
Bynder offers a user-friendly interface and centralized asset management, making it easy for teams to store, organize, and access digital content. It enhances collaboration with tools like annotations, approval workflows, and version control while ensuring brand consistency through customizable templates and portals. Its cloud-based accessibility and integrations with platforms like Adobe Creative Suite and Salesforce further streamline creative and marketing workflows.
Cons
Bynder can be costly, especially for smaller businesses, and advanced features come with a steep learning curve. Initial setup and customization can be time-consuming, and the platform may experience performance issues when handling large asset libraries. Additionally, its offline capabilities are limited, and some features, like search functionality and reporting customization, could use improvement.

Amazing DAM System
Pros
The ability to categorize assets and add our own filters and taxonomy has made our digital asset management a breeze compared to our previous file structure.
Cons
I have nothing negative to say about the Bynder platform. We've run into issues with Bynder's integrations with other systems and sites, but those problems often lie with the other technologies and not Bynder itself. The Bynder support team is also quick to follow up and provide updates.

My overall experience with Bynder is positive.
Pros
I like the ease with which you can provide feedback on Bynder. Hitting Accept and Reject are easy to inform sender that the feedback has been given.
Cons
The right hand menu for multiple comments is a good way of seeing all your comments. However, if you have a file with multiple pages, then all the comments appear on the same right hand menu. Comments should be segregated by each page.

Excellent Asset Manager
Pros
The browser intergration is smooth and easy to use, allowing drag and drop and other useful features. The custom API abilities are very nice too.
Cons
Lacks a few key features you would expect to present in any DAM like cut and paste of assets, searchability of folder names, a trash can. The biggest downside to me is that if a feature is not working properly, like default sort order not saving for half our users, the solution has to be voted on to be determined important enough to be worked on. This can leave major functionality missing and features not working while you wait for months if not years for a possible fix that's not even guaranteed.

Great product that grows with your company
Overall we've had a great experience with Bynder. We've been able to steadily grow and the new features they have added and improved have also improved our work streams.
Pros
The people at Bynder are great. The process of building our product was seamless and our contact always get back to us quickly with answers to our miscellaneous questions. They were also willing to customize the product to fit our needs and willing to grow with us, given we are a small organization but growing rapidly.
Cons
There are some features that I wish were robust. For example, the Guidelines feature is quite limited in formatting and is not as user friendly as the portal. Another example - we'd love to be able to check multiple filters at once. The photo cropping tool was also quite limited but Bynder recently made improvements to this. Another cool feature about Bynder; they listen to feedback and are constantly improving the product.

Bynder
Overall, working as a contributor to a large Bynder database has been a mixed bag. Some of the upload processes and interface choices are a bit frustrating. But in general, it's a stable platform that gets the job done in helping large organizations share assets.
Pros
At its best, Bynder makes it easy to find and share resources within a large team. The interface is generally friendly and easy to navigate.
Cons
I wish there were better upload options for assigning photo metadata to fields within Bynder or auto-tagging assets based on metadata. The 'related assets' feature is often confusing and file versions could be displayed in a much more friendly way. Pricing seems a bit high compared to other solutions.

Making the most of Webdam
I've been working with Webdam for the past 6 months and have received great customer service from Chris Marshall. In those 6 months, our organization activated our Brand Connect site and Chris was very helpful in making that happen. The ease of editing at the parent folder level is great. The only issue that I've experienced has been when I submit tickets that are never answered.
Pros
Brand Connect, Ease of editing
Cons
Search function - seems very old school
Response from Bynder
Thanks for recognizing our CSM, Chris! Glad you¿re enjoying working with him as well as Brand Connect.
Apologies for the unanswered tickets, we try to get to all tickets in a timely manner. If this happens in the future, please don¿t hesitate to escalate your issue to your CSM so we can get it resolved quickly. Additionally our help site, www.damsuccess.com, may be useful also.

Good product that is helping us make the most of our digital assets globally
Enhanced collaboration and sharing of digital assets across our global organisation. Ability to keep all our digital assets in one place and organised and tagged to improve searchability and usage. It also allows us to run reports to see how material is being used and who is using it.
Pros
Simple to use, intuitive, helpful customer support and Bynder continue to provide enhancements and new functionality to improve our experience. It has been a big benefit to our organisation and enabled us to combine two separate digital asset libraries into one effective global system allowing all our teams across the globe to share and collaborate.
Cons
When we reviewed the market we found no one DAM product was an exact match for our needs by Bynder definitely came the closest. We would like more push notification functionality and also stop/start uploads for times where internet connection is patchy in some of the areas where we operate but we know Bynder is continuing to assess and develop new things on their roadmap

Great Software But Too Expensive
Pros
Easy to use. The permission sets are what got us to purchase the software and it was pretty simple. The folder structure was nice and uploading was easy.
Cons
The "Brand Connect" feature wasn't so great. Half the features are in BETA so they don't work. The cost is simply too high for what is offered. We went with another software that was cheaper and had more features.

Bynder became the primary step in workflow around marketing
We started using Bynder over 3 years ago and we've grown with them. From DAM to Marketing Automation we've always been one of the first users and the super intuitive interface makes it that we still use it. We are now with over 70 people in our team and the system still can handle all our assets and workflows.
Pros
The interface definitely. It's so easy that we never have to explain how it works. We're OS X users and everything seems really familiair which helps.
Cons
The roadmap can always be faster. New features are announced and most of the time released on time but we always want them as soon as we see them.

Very Intuitive!
We have added 6500 assets in a short time span, and it's easy to organize and add attributes for all of them.
Pros
The Bynder DAM is so intuitive and easy to set up. It has been easy to get everyone on board, and I already recommended it to my previous company as well. It works like many e-commerce sites with the menu system and takes almost no training time to get started.
Cons
There are some little things, like how I can't approve more than 20 assets at a time or not being able to add a description upon import, but those are things I can deal with.

WebDAM for Root Capital
WebDAM has been extremely effective in cataloging our vast library of images and even more effective in terms of the ease with which we can extract those images and the data associated with them such as names, dates, locations, industries etc which we use a lot in our storytelling function. The customer service has been nothing less than fantastic. So thank you for this highly recommendable product!
Pros
WebDAM has greatly increased the ease with which we catalog and use images associated with our work in many ways
- Vast storage space which reduces the need for filtration of images
- Well organized folder system with activation options
- Metadata allows us to catalog information along with every image for story development purposes
- Different download sizes for web or print purposes
- Lightbox system allows us to share images easily for internal and external purposes.
- WebDAM's versatility also allows us to store design files and collateral files for downloading by staff members.
- AMAZING customer service! Prompt responses on service calls and high quality and regularly scheduled webinars.
Cons
The only con I think of with the current version of the software (that we purchased) is that it does not have an inbuilt media player to play video files. I have been informed that this is something that can be incorporated into the package.

The DAM for forward looking brands
Centralising all our digital assets in one place and not having to spend loads of time finding what we need. We are also saving so much time creating assets by using the templates module - non-technical users like me can create great-looking assets from pre-set templates without having to bother the creative team.
Pros
The intuitive interface, how easy it is to find the right files and the speed at which new functionality is added to the platform. We are also using the digital brand templates module which allows us to create personalised content at scale without having to go to our design team and request small changes.

A good Digital Asset Management tool
Overall the experience has been positive. Bynder works as we expected and we have no issues with it so far.
Pros
Easy to upload new assets and categorize them. Easy to find and download them and to create variations from the original assets, as well as download in different formats.
Cons
The template features are quite limited. Granted this is a DAM tool not a creative tool, so it's understandable the template feature wouldn't be their core strenght. But when compared to other tools that can also do to that, Bynder lags behind.

Our experience with Bynder
The aim was to have an overarching online solution where we can collect all of our assts. The quick access and the user-friendliness of the interface are an advantage here. Bynder is easy to understand, making it the ideal solution for the whole company to access media. We were particularly impressed by the onboarding process with [sensitive content hidden] Initially we had difficulties with the taxonomy. Both of them supported us in every point and stood by our side competently. Thanks for that from the whole team!
Pros

New user to Bynder
Its quite early to say, however having all our logos in one place has been instantly useful. It saves designers time and effort. Uploading photos takes time, but is worth doing well.
Pros
Bynder is an easy to use DAM. It does all that is required very well. It becomes second nature in a very short amount of time. The team atBynder are very good and we have had a great onboarding experience.
Cons
Although Bydner does everything well, some features found in other DAMS are absent. For example, Bynder does not search within images for text (for tagging) and Bynder studio does not support indesign files. How important these small features are to you will be a matter of personal preference.

Very impressed with the platform and the onboarding team
Fantastic experience so far. Our products sell themselves on their imagery. Maintaining a consistent and coherent folder structure and naming convention in traditional platforms like Box and Sharepoint has been a headache for years. Bynder removes a lot of these issues and it is quickly adopted by teams and individuals. The platform has some nice features like the external upload which again has solved a long-standing issue we have had with collecting images from suppliers and being able to ensure the meta properties have been added, has really improved the governance of our digital assets. The onboarding experience has been second to none.
Pros
They are innovative and have some very helpful integrations. There is a good level of customisation that can be done without external support and it is really easy to use. As soon as you demo the product to someone in your organisation, they instantly get it and see the benefits of using the platform. The onboarding experience has been the best I have ever experienced with a software product. The team are very knowledgeable and guides you in small, manageable steps.
Cons
The different tiers of user roles are part of the contract and the number of high-level roles (e.g. Admins) are quite low as standard.
Reasons for Switching to Bynder
We had a much better sales experience with Bynder and some of the integrations they had worked really well with our existing tech stack.

Bynder is our digital assets' authoritative database
Bynder acts as a central repository for all of our digital assets, making it easier for everyone in the organization and our external partners to access the most up-to-date and accurate versions without wasting time searching for them or second-guessing whether or not they are viewing the most recent revisions. It establishes a system that can be used across all divisions and which can be relied upon to give up-to-date and comprehensive data on our digital holdings.
Pros
Bynder is used all over our company. Bynder has been an extremely flexible option for us to better manage the distribution and use of all of our digital assets. Inefficient time and effort is wasted trying to locate needed digital files that have been dispersed among multiple computers, shared folders, and emails.
Cons
There's no way to keep tabs on which files are being transferred, downloaded, etc. It was difficult to locate assets without knowing precisely where they were stored. To use several filters based on a single metaproperty. Minimization of computerized categorization.

Bynder is very user-friendly and configurable
Our sales and marketing digital asset management system and our graphics digital asset management system needed to be integrated. We required an easy-to-use and easy-to-manage solution. Bynder gives you access to everything.
Pros
It was made clear by the Onboarding Manager exactly what needed to be done and when. They gave us with tools to evaluate and spreadsheets to help us verify the platform's suitability for our purposes. The weekly sessions were fruitful, and the "homework" tasks were manageable. The database is well-built, but it also allows for a great deal of customization.
Cons
Metaproperties and permissions may have benefited from a bit more description of how they're used, especially how they're connected. Things didn't exactly go according to plan, so we had to go back a few times and reorganize.

Overall, I really like the way it's setup, and the flexibility you have to customize the product for your brand. We've done away with network folders, we've made more people self sufficient. We now know what assets we have. Duplications are pretty non existent. Got rid of allot of manual work on websites; cropping images, replacing documents etc.
Pros
I like the lack of folder structure, this combined with a good taxonomy, you'll find what you need in seconds.
Cons

Straightforward and Organized Remote Working and Business Integration Tool
Our whole marketing, social, and graphics teams can seamlessly exchange these files thanks to Bynder, which also helps us manage our photo library and other assets. Sharing your documents with outside services can feel less secure when you work with a platform like Microsoft. We get an additional degree of security from Bynder. We can be sure we are always working with final assets thanks to Bynder.
Pros
The taxonomy system and the dashboard page really amazed me because Bynder has basically thought of everything. The derivatives feature of Bynder is something else I adore; it takes SUCH a massive burden off my shoulders that the system can automatically crop socially ready assets for me. Without the requirement for a VPN connection, all employees may discover work and have immediate access to our resources. Our productivity and file management both significantly enhance thanks to Bynder. Although setting up a DAM system can be frightening, the Bynder team has a great process that lets us do it quickly and without much difficulty.
Cons
I wish I had had more time to spend during onboarding on a few modules. Although Taxonomy is really important, we spent a lot of time discussing it, therefore I wish we had spent a bit more time discussing some of the other elements. I want to Bynder had some organisational system to more closely resemble how each of us uses our PCs, hard discs, etc. I would like to see more pre-built API connectors and less expensive Adobe plug-ins. Another benefit would be facial recognition.

Functionality vs Speed
We are using Bynder as a digital assets manager to share images, campaign tools, and videos to our internal teams, dealers, distributors, and media associates. So far our outside visitors who use Bynder have found very few issues with the tool. However, others have found the interface daunting and difficult. We have had made huge concessions to our homepage to funnel visitors to our Bynder site forgoing many of the features.
Pros
I have grown to like Bynder's filter system and understand its power in finding assets quickly.
Cons

2. Setting up permission levels and functionality is a real chore. Maybe it is our needs, but the initial setup was not well-explained.

Good Overall Product - Needs Continuous Improvement
The help-team is generally really responsive at the onset. But once the ticket has to go to engineering or product, I don't get any follow up on where my ticket stands or projected timelines for solving said problem.
Pros
Overall I like this product, I think it's generally user friendly for me as the admin. I find it easy to organize my assets and my users.
Some of the reasons I find it cumbersome are because users within my organization are asking the system to do things that it's not capable of. (ie, using it more as a shareable dropbox as opposed to a directory of assets)
Cons
...that said... I find myself having to put in tickets to fix or implement things that feel like they should already be a part of the integration. For example, I asked the system to kick out a report. Within webdam, the report pulled up 4,000 assets that fit the criteria I searched for. However, when I kicked out the excel file, it only showed the first 1,000. What's the point of reporting if I can't see the whole report?
Also, my department established a process in webdam for Regular users and it worked for a year or so and then suddenly stopped working due to changes made in the system. It's currently being sorted out now, but it was a frustrating discovery.

Unlimited Features and Customization, Great Support
We came from manually coding our seasonal assets to a landing page for our dealers and distributors. It was a great experience for them but far too much time and effort to maintain. We Then migrated to an FTP solution that saved us a ton of time each season to upload assets but was an awful experience for our dealers. Upon researching DAM systems we came upon Bynder. We were drawn to them based on the branded experience and the ability to make it feel Ruffwear and not another generic file sharing platform. In the first 6 months the number of process improvements and ideas that have come about based on Bynder's abilities is amazing.
Pros
The amount of customization and branding combined with the features available are incredible. The on-boarding was organized and efficient. Post support, success manager is great to work with. The continuous improvements every month to the platform show the commitment to evolving the platform.
Cons
Due to the amount of features and customizations it can be a bit overwhelming unless you are in the system using it daily.

Webdam is an image and asset repository online.
Great image asset manager that allows teams to share assets and control access to those assets company-wide.
Pros
It let's you share assets with a team or company. I was the admin (in my previous position) for a Webdam install for about 300 users at a university. The assets can be available to all or you can share them with granular permissions. You can store images, videos, documents and other types of files.
Cons
The permissions were tricky to setup and sometimes had to be setup numerous times to actually work. The search was also a bit tricky to get good results.

Highly versatile interface and GREAT product!
We have pushed BrandConnect "to the limit" a few times, and have experienced nothing but positive customer service and a "what can we do to make this happen?" attitude from the WebDAM team. They continue to evolve the interface so that it is becoming a fully-customizable portal, which is adaptable for different client needs. Dynamic Templates are the perfect way to allow users to customize marketing collateral, while still maintaining the approved messaging and Brand attributes we need, as well as Legal and regulatory requirements. Users have easy, organized access to all approved materials, and can customize and download from anywhere at any time - on their schedules! This has been a game-changer for us as a marketing tool and I look forward to leveraging all the enhancements they have on this year's roadmap. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for features only because these have not yet been released but the fact that they are working on the updates and that this product will soon surpass all our expectations is AWESOME!
Pros
Versatility, all the main features we need
Cons
It isn't COMPLETELY customizable yet, but it is on the roadmap so that isn't even really a valid "con" - I had to search for one, because I love this platform and this vendor.
Response from Bynder
