## Reviews

### "Highly Recommend Crowdin for Translation Work" — 5.0/5

> **Johnny** | *1 June 2024* | Nonprofit Organisation Management | Recommendation rating: 9.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Crowdin is a fantastic platform that has made the translation process incredibly smooth. It's super easy to use, even for beginners, with a user-friendly interface that anyone can navigate. The website loads quickly, which is a huge plus when managing large projects. The machine translation feature provides helpful context based on work you have already done. Plus, the glossary feature ensures consistency across all translations, maintaining our high-quality standards.
>
> **Cons**: The overall project management on Crowdin could use some improvement. The dashboard process, in particular, needs refining. It would be great to have more intuitive and easy-to-understand dashboards that clearly show the amount of work completed over time. This enhancement would make tracking progress much more efficient and user-friendly.

> I highly recommend Crowdin for translation work. I have already recommended it to friends who are using it for their projects. Of all the translation tools I have used, it is my favorite.

### "Crowdin is one of the best platforms for Game Localization" — 5.0/5

> **Victor** | *30 September 2025* | Computer Games | Recommendation rating: 10.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Crowdin is very intuitive. I had never used a CAT tool before, and I learned how to use it very fast; I liked Crowdin so much that I became a bit too attached to it.
Those who want to translate can use it for free. For project managers, there are many paid options. I can't describe further, as I have never created or managed a project.
The design is clear and simple, and the editor has 4 view options for different purposes. All the project's text is divided into strings, and in each string you can see all the translations suggested and approved so far (from the language you selected, from Translation Memory and Machine Translation, and also from other languages), and the comments made from other people from all the languages. Beyond that, you can always check the glossary (that you can also feed), and search for a specific term in the source language to see how it was translated into the target language. The editor has more features, such as integration with other softwares (e.g. CAT tools); however, I can't say much about them as I have not used them.
The main features of the editor make it a reliable tool for any project; especially in the case of technical translations, there is little need to use an internet search engine, as you can feed the software with any information you like - such as pictures, very useful for clarifying context. Of course, searching for info from another source is important, however Crowdin has alternatives that accelerate that process.
Another important feature is the approval system: managers can choose some members as proofreaders, and these members will be responsible for approving translations. Ideally, only approved translations - i.e., those judged the best by the proofreaders - will actually make part of the localized software. In the project I help the most, there is a team of paid proofreaders that also translate, and they go through all of the suggestions to choose the best one. This is crucial, as the project is public and many translators are volunteers with little to no experience in localization and/or fluency in the source language.
In the project, you can also check for tasks from the managers; the statistics about contributions; a log of everything done by every member; and a public forum for discussions.
The website is very safe, as I have not been hacked any time, nor any of the colleagues I know. No project I am a member of has been attacked somehow by hackers and/or griffers.
Crowdin has an in-built system of attributing money to tasks (based on characters, words, strings etc. translated and approved). I can't describe it, as I have always worked as a volunteer translator.
>
> **Cons**: There's very little stuff I dislike about Crowdin.
The lack of a more accessible log of translations makes it hard to trace translations that have been deleted or lost for some reason. The current log also doesn't allow you to use words to search for translations.
From what I've used, the in-build private messaging system is a bit buggy and laggy, and I prefer using other messenger softwares. It could be certainly improved.
There could be features for avoiding flooding in the editor. Sometimes, (unexperienced) users will flood strings with very poor translations that visually pollute the editor, or send a series of useless comments as problems to be solved, and then the proofreaders will have to repeatedly solve the problems and delete the suggestions, or just have to ignore them.
>
> I'm reviewing Crowdin's website, on Chrome, both on the PC and on mobile, since I never used the app.
Crowdin is a very useful tool for software localization and team projects. I've started using it in 2020 and it has been a really great experience. The platform offers many options for volunteer translation and localization, which can be an interesting way to get into this market and acquire the know-how. Also, in the project I've been helping the most, I've found a very specialized team of translators that have helped me by teaching the nuances of Game Localization, an opportunity, I believe, very few people have. Overall, Crowdin's features make crowdsourcing feel rewarding. As such, I believe it is one of the best platforms for Game Localization

### "Good community first system" — 4.0/5

> **Radek** | *11 March 2026* | Financial Services | Recommendation rating: 7.0/10
>
> **Pros**: Good user interface inside dictionary editor. You can also document each translation term with description and even image, so any translator that then do or review the translation have a good context.
>
> **Cons**: If you want instant translation of you app - you can order it (even from different providers). The price of paid translations from professionals is quite steep.
>
> Good community driven system to translate a service/software. You can pick desired languages and let volunteers from community to fill in missing translations.

### "An indispensable tool for your localization workflows" — 5.0/5

> **Olivier** | *29 August 2025* | Computer Software | Recommendation rating: 8.0/10
>
> **Pros**: I setup Crowdin to use either DeepL or Microsoft Translator machine translations. It makes it easy to obtain a first draft of translations and the Editor also makes it easy to spot potential quality issues and correct translations.

The team from Support are always extremely helpful.
>
> **Cons**: I struggled with the GitHub Synchronization in the beginning and had to revert syncs several times before the Integrations settings were right\! I found the wording in the UI sometimes misleading. I suggest keeping the following localization workflow in mind:

"The current Crowdin-GitHub integration follows an industry-standard localization workflow where the Git repository remains the single source of truth for all code and source strings.

Here's why this workflow is the most effective for most of our users:
Version Control: Keeping your source strings in GitHub ensures they are part of your main codebase and are subject to your existing version control, branching, and review processes.
Continuous Localization: The integration is designed to automatically check for new strings in your repository and pull them into Crowdin. Once translators complete the work, the translated files are automatically pushed back to your repository, ready for deployment. This creates a seamless, automated loop that is essential for continuous localization.

This approach keeps Crowdin focused on what it does best—providing a powerful environment for translation and collaboration—while relying on GitHub for source code management."

Lastly, being a small indie developer, I found the pricing (at €52/month) a bit steep, especially considering that only 1 integration and no sync reversion is possible in the free plan.
>
> Crowdin is a feature rich translation tool. There's a lot going on here and there are many integrations possible. Finding the right settings to get the job done can take some getting used to. But, once you've mastered your localization workflow, Crowdin will become an indispensable time saver.
