About KORONA POS

KORONA POS provides point of sale software, inventory management, and CRM services for all types of retailers, such as convenience stores, liquor shops, and QSRs. The POS software also caters to museums, theme parks, and wineries with its ticketing and membership features and integrations. The cloud-based solution can scale with businesses to serve multi-location and franchise operations. It can automatically calculate commission and franchise royalties. All business operations through the point of sale can be completed on-site or remotely. Newer KORONA POS features provide advanced product analysis with ABC inventory grading, detailed sales reporting, automated reordering, stock notifications, theft prevention, and employee management tools. Most features are fully customizable, including gift cards, promotions, discounts/sales, staff permissions, menus, reports, and more. KORONA POS is payment processor agnostic, leaving the choice up to the retailer. The software runs on Windows, Linux, and MacOS, and on either mobile or stationary hardware. The software also supports all peripherals, including all modern forms of payment. There are no contracts or commitments and included 24/7 support.

A Vast Improvewment!

We switched over from an older POS to Korona almost 5 years ago. The system is great! Fast, efficient, customizable, and has great reporting tools as well! We use it everyday, with only minor issues here and there. A quick call to the support staff will always fix it, they are are very friendly and based in the USA!

Pros

Korona revolutionized how we did business in our Museum gift shop. The retail/inventory systems are top notch and far and away better than what we were using. The system is easy to use, and the support staff is super helpful.

Cons

The system software is originally from Germany, so there was a slight learning curve trying to figure out POS button sequences. It's the most efficient, but it takes some getting used to. There are also a lot of features, which is a plus, but they aren't all explained very well without multiple emails/calls with the support team.

The POS that keeps getting worse

Unbelievable how each SW rev takes away functionality! For example, our retail employees search Products constantly to check stock and store prices. While that never came up on the home screen under Products, it used to be one click. They changed THAT button to show whether items were Listed (who cares?) and now when you click 3 different screens to get to the stock levels, it shows ON THE SCREEN what our buy prices are (to the cashier and customer at the counter). But it does NOT show the sales price, you have to Go Back 3 times, then double-click the product to EDIT it, and scroll down, and expand a box, to see the price we sell if for. Who dreams this stuff up? I could give dozens of similar examples of features they've broken in the past 6 years. When you ask them, they just clam up and get defensive, refuse to revert any of this nonsense. Moreover, they hold hostage critical fields of data that cannot be exported, raising cost of switching which we have been keen to do.

Terrific culture at Korona.

The people are honest and helpful while always being responsive and prompt. Unlike our last POS provider, they want our business to be enhanced by their product.

Pros

The people that work there are TERRIFIC. The system is almost fully customizable, and the equipment is solid.

Cons

It is complex, you have to be committed to getting the most out of the system. The terminology is German in English so there is a constant stop and think for the first few months. We are 5 months in and just getting routinely used to things like “price” means “cost” and “product code” means “UPC code” while “item code” means “product code”. In addition, the terminology changes inside of there system depending on what your doing. Makes it harder for terminology to stick .

Bevly was a train wreck. Automatic data feeds from suppliers had inaccurate product data. They would not allow us to turn the data feeds off. It was like swatting flies in a landfill. We finally had to just jump off the train. Incidentally, we are saving quite a lot of $$$$ with this switch.

Korona POS Review

We are still working on learning all the features available on this system, but having been in banking for over 23 years and working in IT for 7 of those years, I know without doubt this is the BEST system available on the market!

Pros

We have looked at approximately 4 other POS systems and Korona is by far, our favorite system. For the price, they offer many more features than any of the top three POS systems we reviewed.

Cons

Because of all its features, it takes more time to learn all the functions that are available to the user.

Customer service!!
What a crew of patience and knowledge. Their customer service second to none. The system itself is also FANTASTIC.

Cons

I would like to have a tab or folder for my favorite reports on the back end. It has so many options for reports there are a few that i would like to customize and save in this folder or tab, so i dont have to search for the report tabs i like to use.

Great overall POS and management system.

Pros

Great overall POS and management system. Easy and fast to set up, simple to use, and highly scalable. A customizable dashboard complements robust reporting on all operational details. Modular packages allow for additional functions as needed.

Cons

There is only one thing required to be added to this POS which is Arabic Language

Best decision I ever made

I feel the inventory is much better than my previous system.

Pros

I like the cloud part the best. I can do ordering when I am away from the store. I am a single owner/user of the system and I was in need of a new POS system due to my previous system was no longer going to be available and I searched out a lot of new POS and I found Korona to be very similar to my previous system. I just had to learn new verbage to understand what I wanted to do. My previous system it was hard to get ahold of anyone to help with any questions and the support staff at Korona has been outstanding! Any question they know what I need and it doesn't matter who I talk to. They all know what I need and explain it or fix my issue in no time. It was the best decision I ever made!

Cons

The hardest part for me is the reports. I know what I want to do but I have a hard time remembering where to get the reports because where I think they should be, they are in a different spot. there are a few things that are confusing but I just figure it out or call support.

Never easy making changes/ but Korona was relatively painlessly

Fairly straightforward POS system that is evolving

Pros

Outstanding customer phone suppprt. Our account rep(s) are over the top attentive and eager to trouble shoot at any hour -this is always very reassuring

Cons

Still not every thing we need and difficulties expressing our needs. Updates often times remove functionality that is worthwhile and it's difficult to convey the importance of not losing functionality. The time difference has also caused some issues on pressing issues -and updates are not tested on all platforms and to the extent that I feel they should be.

Korona is a great system for a small business

The benefits are ease of use of system which makes it easy to train staff faster. It also helps when dealing with large crowds

Pros

The ease of use when using the system. The tabs help make the back office easier to navigate. It is ideal for the small business owner

Cons

Sometimes I wish the updates would come faster. They do a great job of updating to fix issues when they do arise

Point of sales for experts

Pros

That the customer service is available 24/7 and friendly. The system itself is very user friendly.

Cons

The call back time from customer service is not ideal for in the moment problems .

Very easy to use keeps track of finances saves money don't need an accountant, Very helpful support keeps track of inventory.

Cons

The software is awesome no cons that i think are critical it would nice however to delete sales receipts if possible.

Thumbs up

Korona is much faster than the old pos we were using (Lightspeed). We are no longer delaying the transaction time because we don't have to wait for software to catch up to us

Pros

Really user friendly, and super fast transactions

Cons

My boss hasn't set up the stores as different locations so we can't see the sales by location, only as a whole.

Pros

Cons

Smooth, efficient addition to our stores. Wish we would’ve added Korona years ago!

Give them a call today and ask them all of your questions. They knows their stuff and will be 100 % transparent to you. This company isn’t just trying to add you to the list as another client. I totally trust in Korona 100 % at this point.

Pros

Awesome customer service, from the get go not only has their sales office been super helpful the customer support side is exceeding our expectations.

Cons

We have 6 years of merchandise to implement into Korona, therefore we haven’t implemented 100% yet. But when we do we will have ensured that we haven’t taken any shortcuts. Therefore Korona hasn’t had any Cons Yet, we are the Con for not have added it years ago.

Robust backend

Pros

Korona has very logical features and more than you can think of implementing. The POS was well thought out with speed in mind. Support staff is very helpful for any assistance or issues you have.

Cons

It’s a port/translation from pre existing software, so there may be some quirks to iron out. Additional features/software fixes may not be easily requested.

Think out of the box

We really believe in this product but we need a one on one experience because our lack of experience that would be great for us, and for many restaurants or business that have latin americans employees

All of the features and how easily we can update it

That the training and customer support its in english and it not our main language
