My experience with PayPal has been positive; It's a simple and quick way to send and receive money online, and both the website and mobile app have an intuitive user interface.
Pros
Its security and usability for online payments, which allow customers to send and receive money without giving businesses all of their personal information.
Cons
PayPal block users and freeze and hold funds from accounts without warning, which irritates users.

3 out of 5 stars overall
I started using square more and PayPal put a freeze on my business account asking for my taxes and other paper work which I have already provided once before and it was a pain. It is back up and running but just was a hindrance I was not prepared for.
Pros
Being able to use the virtual terminal to take credit card payments, links you can send in text messages to receive payments, QR scanning to ring up items as well as take a payment.
Cons
The captcha glitch is the worst, next is the lack of quality customer service, trying to accomplish adding money to your balance and 90% of the time there is an error. Business App should have more options to take payment.
Reasons for Switching to PayPal
I use both paypal and square depending on the context of the sale.- Industry: Wholesale

No not trust paypal
PayPal PayPal: Terrible Service and No Buyer Protection!
I trusted PayPal blindly because of their so-called “buyer protection,” but it turned out to be completely useless. I purchased an eGold membership with eWorldTrade, only to discover later that this company is full of negative reviews. According to the contract, I am entitled to a 90-day money-back guarantee if I am dissatisfied with their services. This period has not yet expired, and I decided to reverse the payment through PayPal because I refuse to support fraudulent practices.
Instead of assisting me, PayPal chose to call me three times a day, pressuring me, but looking into the negative reviews of eWorldTrade themselves? Apparently, that was too much effort. Despite providing clear evidence from the contract I submitted, PayPal sided with the fraudulent company. The result? I lost nearly 1000 euros and received zero support.
PayPal’s promise of “buyer protection” is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. They refuse to take responsibility and support fraudulent companies instead of their customers. NEVER AGAIN PAYPAL! Such a disappointing experience from a company that claims to be reliable.

Easy set up, little higher cost per trasaction
PayPal worked well for a time and was easy to implement. The biggest reason we moved on from PayPal is because of the higher cost per transaction compared to its competitors.
Pros
We could make customized invoices so our customers could pay online. We could also type in payments that we received over the phone.
Cons
Our cost of each transaction was higher than other products. It takes longer to receive our money than some other products.

PayPal Software Review.
Its a flexible payment options – customers can pay using their PayPal balance, credit card, debit card, or linked bank account. I like that a lot about it. and that it makes it easier for online marketers to do business without worrying about payments methods.
Pros
I like that its a global online product and the fast payments – I can receive payments instantly. No waiting for checks or long bank transfers. and I like that PayPal works in many countries and supports different currencies.
Lastly its easy to set up – I can add PayPal to my website or online store quickly without needing advanced tech skills.
Cons
Fees Can Be High – PayPal charges transaction fees, which can add up, especially for small businesses or frequent sales, and for holding funds up to 21 days on other transactions.

Secure and easy to use
Overall, I haven't had any trouble with PayPal in the 10+ years I've been using it, both as a customer and as a seller.
Pros
PayPal has gotten much easier to use over the last several years. The app actually works great and I've never had any issues with it. Sending and receiving money is easy, and being able to see all of your recent activity is great. Generating reports on the business side is also nice.
Cons
For some reason, a lot of people still don't trust PayPal and won't use it. Also as a seller, PayPal fees are pretty high.

Protecting Scammers and Defrauding Customers
Paypal is definitely protecting scammers. I had two transactions recently that I sought a refund on. Both times the seller turned out to be a Chinese scammer. I submitted all the evidence to Paypal, including pre-existing reports to Scamwatch and police. They didn't even bother to read my complaint, let alone look at any of the attachments I sent. I pushed things further, providing more evidence not just of how I'd been scammed, but also how this particularl seller was operating dozens of fraudulent businesses in Australia. Paypal ignored that too. They've also refused reunds on faulty goods, goods that were nothing like what I ordered, and goods that never arrived. Paypal definitely don't protect the customer and actually make it deliberately hard to seek a refund. On top of that, they charge an extra 10c in every dollar on top of the current exchange rate from AUD to USD (and other currencies). That's not fees and charges which are additional, but them deciding what the exchange rate is and setting it 10c higher than the actual exchange rate, and then they prevent you from having the currency exchange handled by your bank or another institution. Paypal collects that extra money. So as well as not standing by their own, much-advertised customer protection policy, they actively support scammers and are themselves defrauding customers. Maybe it's time all the disgruntled customers got together and started a class action against Paypal?
Pros
Nothing. There is nothing to like about Paypal.
Cons
It does not protect customers (but it does protect scammers); customer service is non-existent; the account setup is hard to navigate; there is no buyer protection; Paypal is extorting money by setting its own exchange rates; the refund process is deliberately opaque to put people off making complaints; there is no way to seek restitutation from Paypal itself without engaging in a lengthy legal process.

Great payment provider, could do with more methods though
My overall experience with PayPal in the 10+ years I have used them has been good, as my main source of income is with PayPal where I can accept card payments and PayPal balance payments. I will continue to use them for as long as they remain one of the best payment merchants in the world.
Pros
I love that PayPal is very easy to implement and has a great amount of API features, scripts, and its own balance so you can import funds from elsewhere such as your bank or have money sent to you without the need for a bank, PayPal is widely accepted in multiple countries and is currently the most used payment method, especially for automation, on my whole website.
Cons
I wish PayPal would accept more payment methods such as Bitcoin, decrease their chargeback fee and allow more countries to use them. I hope their support can improve slightly as well as most of the time they do not understand my query or give an irrelevant solution.

One of the most intuitive online payment and invoicing solutions but can get expensive and...
I used PayPal for over 10 years, to receive international payments to a personal account, send money to friends and family, and, occasionally, pay for various tools and products.
This year, after registering a new business entity, I switched from my personal PayPal account to a business account. They locked the money in my account for 3 weeks, with no way out. I tried contacting support, sent them details of my old account, ID, screenshots, service contract, invoice, etc. all the details I could think of to show that I've been receiving money regularly for services already rendered from the same person/company for 10 years with 0 chargebacks or disputes, and even my boss offered to confirm all details and waive any rights to chargebacks but they refused to unlock my account and release my money earlier. I understand the need to protect buyers but their inflexibility is insane and extremely disappointing. After this experience, my boss/client and I decided to use wire transfers to settle payments and, since then, I've saved close to $300/month total from payment fees, currency exchange rates, and withdrawal fees. I'm now using the free version of Zoho for invoicing. I guess PayPal is faster than international wire transfer and easier to use for invoicing than other 3rd party tools but the $300 I'm saving every month make the switch well worth it. I also have colleagues who switched from PayPal to Revolut and they say they've saved money and are very happy with their decision.
Pros
I used PayPal for 10 years to send invoices and get paid for freelance work, send payments to friends/family, and shop online. It's the most intuitive platform I've used, very flexible and accessible to everyone.
Cons
Their rules are rigid, the overall costs are high, and the customer service was inflexible, unhelpful.

A decent payment processing solution with some drawbacks
I think overall PayPal is okay, but many of the issues I've had, had the potential to turn into a lot bigger issues. I would say it's probably no longer the best option for payment processing.
Pros
They have one of the shorter wait times for payouts/balance transfers compared to other platforms I've used. Many people are familiar with them and many companies/organizations still use them which often lends itself to an easier check out process. I like that it has pay later options for my clients.
Cons
Paypal was once one of the most trusted and secure payment processors, but there have been many points of failure over the years and I am not as confident about it as I once was. I have previously had some issues with fraudulent purchases made using my account. In my experience their customer service has not been the best often because of language barriers leading to my concerns not being understood/addressed. I don't like how difficult it is to change the settings so that non-PayPal users can make payments using PayPal. The buyer-protection is not great either, I purchased a product that was misrepresented in the photos and description and even when I couldn't get a hold of the company to go through with returning it, PayPal would not grant me a refund. The same thing happened when a company that was going out of business kept recurring charges going even though they were no longer providing me the service and hadn't for months, I sent PayPal all requested documentation and they didn't refund me or remedy the issue at all.

PayPal great unless you need cash back rewards
Used frequently since 2004. Wish I would have switched to competition ma my years earlier.
Pros
Common well known name. Easy to integrate in most payment portals and personal usage.
Cons
Very low rewards and payback on usage. Competitors which pays back extensive cash back percentages are now commonplace. PayPal does not and does not care to update that feature

Paypal: Overall great with a small flaw
PayPal is super easy to use, with a clean, intuitive interface that makes navigating a breeze. A big plus is that you can send money to friends and family without any fees. Honestly, it doesn’t have many flaws, though the currency exchange rates for purchases in other currencies can be a bit steep. Overall, it’s a great platform for managing payments!
Pros
PayPal is super easy to use with a simple, intuitive interface. One of the best parts is that sending money to friends and family comes with no fees.
Cons
In my opinion, PayPal doesn’t have any major flaws. The only downside is that their currency exchange rates for purchases in different currencies can be a bit high. Other than that, it’s solid!

Simple solution for online payments and money transfers
Overall, PayPal offers a reliable and efficient experience for most digital financial needs, but the experience may vary depending on usage, especially when trading internationally or receiving large-value payments.
Pros
The security and ease of making purchases on e-commerce sites, transferring money to friends, family or other people quickly and safely, both within the country and internationally.
In addition to managing subscriptions and automatic payments for streaming services, software and other monthly or annual subscriptions.
Use the tool to make international transactions and convert currencies quickly and conveniently, with transparent rates.
Cons
Exchange rates and commissions charged for international transactions can be relatively high, which ends up being disadvantageous when sending or receiving money from other countries. Although it is a convenient platform, the fees charged on incoming payments, especially for freelancers or small businesses, can be significant and impact profits.
Another negative point is customer support, difficulties in resolving problems with PayPal due to slow or inefficient customer support.

My Experience with PayPal
Pros
PayPal allows me to send and receive payments globally.
The best part is that I can receive payments to users without PP accounts through payment requests where they can pay via Credit Cards.
Cons
I am enjoying every bit of PP on my end without facing drawbacks.
