Klaviyo, an essential tool for your online store.
For an online store, Klaviyo is an essential tool. I have several clients with whom I have implemented the tool and at least 40% of sales are thanks to the flows, registration pages and campaigns that I have implemented through Klaviyo. Indispensable if you want your online store to be successful.
Pros
The ease of use and ease of implementation with Shopify. In addition to the excellent tools for attracting customers, such as registration forms, automated flows and email campaigns that you can segment in great detail so that each message reaches the right customers.
Cons
The only problem is that for the Latin market, messaging via WhatsApp is more important than SMS, as the app does. This is something that needs to evolve if it wants to improve in the Latin market.

Great SMS and Email Marketing tool for small and mid sized companies
For the moment we believe this is one of the best SMS and Email marketing tools available.
Pros
The interface is one of the cleanest we've worked with, and it actually works! (Which is something unfortunately didnt happen with some other alternatives)
Flows are easy to create, user profiles are really complete with all the info on a specific contact (if you have an ecommerce integration active)
Cons
It does have a learning curve, but they provide plenty documentation and online courses to learn how to use it from beginner to advanced user.

Great product... with problems.
Being a developer myself, I informed the Klaviyo team of the deprecated code errors their plugin was displaying on peoples websites, and to the fact that their plugin slowed customers websites down drastically. The reply I received a couple of days later was:
"Unfortunately we do not update our plugin very often - but our team will get around to it eventually."
This was 2 years ago, and the plugin still has not been corrected. So it still produces errors, and still slows peoples websites down.
Pros
Klaviyo is extremely easy to setup, especially compared to its competitors.
You have the freedom to link Klaviyo with your Wordpress/WooCommerce website seamlessly.
Everything can be automated! Such as emails after order received, emails after payment received, multiple emails after certain time duration's for things like newsletter subscriptions and a lot more options are available to include users website Wishlists, items they left in their shopping carts to remind them, and all emails are fully customisation using the Klaviyo's inbuilt email form designer.
You can also arrange customer lists, newsletter subscription user lists, and any other lists you may require. The possibilities are endless!
Cons
Using Klaviyo on your Wordpress website as subscription signup form slows your website down, a lot!
Although unnoticeable to customers surfing your site, Klaviyo also throws a few error on your page as it uses deprecated (out-dated) code.
If the Klaviyo form builder doesn't produce the look/type of form you require, then you must build the form yourself by coding direct on your website (Which beats the point of having a form builder).
The Klaviyo plugin does not update, and never announces that there is a new version. You must remove the plugin from your website, manually download the latest version from their website, and then upload/install/activate the new plugin.
There is no option to change languages or string translations of forms, form input boxes, or form buttons. And these translations cannot be picked up in Wordpress plugins such as Lingotek or Polylang. The same applies to the confirmation pages after the user submits the forms.

MailchimpReasons for Choosing Klaviyo
I signed up to Klaviyo as a trial to experience another software other than my current software. So I had some sort of comparison, and to see if there were any additional features. Which I can confirm there are a lot more options, features, and ease of use with Klaviyo.Switched From
MailchimpReasons for Switching to Klaviyo
I made the switch from MailChimp to Klaviyo after a trial basis of Klaviyo and finding there is more I was able to do and accomplish. However, I later reverted back to using MailChimp as I did not want the errors on my pages that Klaviyo provides, and I did not want to radically decrease the loads speed of pages for my customers. People lose interest quick while waiting for a page to load, page load speeds mean EVERYTHING! So the choice I had was less email features or lose customers. I chose less email features.Top Klaviyo Alternatives

Great tool for small businesses
Pros
I love how Klaviyo not only focuses on triggered flows and campaigns but sms too. I like their new AI feature that helps us write better subject lines. It’s a very good integration and this AI was able to capture the essence of our branding very well in a couple tryouts.
Cons
The only think I dislike is that their campaign analytics get updated only once a day. I wish we could see a live dashboard or heat map or something.

It strengthens customers' motivation capabilities
Klaviyo is essential marketing support. It excels in bringing data and converting it into direct targets for customers, thus ensuring that they remain constantly informed of the latest updates, as well as motivating them to complete operations in a distinctive manner.
Pros
Klaviyo is easy to do with everything, the connectivity is effective and the data that ensures the sustainability of its flow covers all the details and allows customers to be targeted as required. I love the ease of creating digital campaigns, as there are plenty of templates suitable for everything. Klaviyo enables us to segment customer lists into multiple sub-lists, and this is important for the success of segmenting campaigns to ensure the achievement of their goals.
Cons
With Klaviyo, after the correct connection with the platforms, all subsequent steps are very easy, as targeting is done in real time, and the frequency of messages can be easily adjusted from the settings.

Klaviyo review
I use it mainly for my e-commerce store, to send various email sequences to customers, for example, to welcome them after they subscribe or engage with them after they visit a page without buying.
Pros
Klaviyo is easy to use and very powerful for e-commerce businesses especially. I like the templates available and the AI features they added.
Cons
Of course, there is a learning curve to learn all the functionalities available, but there are plenty of videos and tutorials to get help.

Versatile Tool with Great Options
Overall, it’s been good. The wide range of options it offers is definitely the best part.
Pros
We use it for mass communications with customers, and it offers a variety of options, including scheduling messages to different segments. It's not the easiest tool to use, but it's not the most difficult either.
Cons
Sometimes it’s not very intuitive, but overall, it’s still a great and useful tool.

Good ESP That Does What You Need
Besides cost, the biggest team our team wanted to get out of the ESP was email automation which you get built in with Klaviyo. We had some assistance with our agency to get on-boarded and build some additional flows but overall, there wasn't to much of a learning curve with building the emails. Their tables do not render nicely in Outlook though, which didn't have that issue before which is a bummer.
Pros
With our previous ESP, we had to pay extra for the automation that you would expect with your email service provider. With looking at bottom line, that is what lead us to research other ESPs, which lead us to Klaviyo. While there is a learning curve with any new program, this one wasn't to bad to get adjusted. I will say I do miss the dedicated account rep we had with previous ESP and the on-boarding specialist okay...our marketing agency helped with the on-boarding as it was heading into Q4 and they helped steer ship in right direction after first two emails had less then stellar open rates.
Cons
The features are there that you need from an ESP perspective. They even recently announced the introduction of SMS marketing within their platform which helps ROI tracking to be even better instead of having to rely on a 3rd party vendor and who takes credit between a SMS message or email message. While our email send total is actually higher than in Listrak, we do not have a dedicated account manager to meet with and discuss the account, what they see, suggestions on where to optimize, etc. It is much cheaper than Listrak and another ESP we looked at so you get what you pay for.
Reasons for Choosing Klaviyo
If money wasn't an issue between the two platforms, I would have stayed preferred we stayed with Listrak, but there cost was way to high comparatively and not even for as many "goods."Switched From
ListrakReasons for Switching to Klaviyo
Ultimately we were able to get everything we were looking for at a lower cost with Klaviyo. Had some hiccups along the way and the Outlook rendering issue is a pain in the rear if you aren't coding all your emails, but to stay with Listrak, it would have been a much higher cost.- Industry: Food & Beverages

The best all-in-one marketing tool for scale
Overall, I am a fan and they have earned their place as our go-to marketing tool. We can't operate without Klaviyo.
Pros
Klaviyo does what it promises. It's an all-in-one solution for email, sms, customer data, and automations. Their software works better than the competitors at scale: they grow healthier lists which means more revenue long term.
Cons
The import from mailchimp was a bit of a hassle, and the sync between Klaviyo and Shopify has some unexpected issues that crop up, but that's likely due to our integration and not on the software stack itself. Pricing for SMS in Canada is very high, which may be prohibitive for some.

Best email app ever!
I have only been using Klaviyo for 3 months and I only wish I had discovered it before. If you sell online through an e-commerce platform give it a try! You will not regret it!
Pros
I have nothing but good things to say about Klaviyo. It is filled with great features like no other email app I have seen before; it has a very friendly interface that makes email creation a breeze; excellent analytics and a very fair price.
The other huge plus is their amazing customer service! They are on their toes waiting to help you! Superfast, super-efficient!
Cons
I still have not learned to use this app in all its depth, but their triggers and segmentations are amazing. There is nothing not to like in this app.

Never going back to anything else but Klaviyo
Pros
The integration with Shopify Stores and the ease of building flows makes this a game changer. Additionally the bulk discount code builder gives Shopify functionality outside of Shopify that makes "one less app" for my store. Finally the native Form Builder in Klaviyo is very easy to use.
Cons
I wish one Klaviyo Account could connect to multiple Shopify Stores, this causes some problems for our operations. Additionally I wish building segments was faster, some advanced segments take very long to build.

Pretty good software with just one reservation
Pros
Integration abilities with other tools, flows/automation is very easy to setup, the tool is intuitive, other email tools do not offer SMS as well, so it is really good for e-commerce stores.
Cons
Pricing, other ESPs are priced more economically, which is favourable for a startup that is trying to scale. At times it is hard to justify the monthly fixed cost if you've had a hard month.

One of the best options for E-Commerce brands
Pros
Klaviyo is extremely easy to use. For employees that are less tech savvy, it's a great option. The integration with Shopify is pretty much flawless. MMS messaging is extremely easy for both broadcast sends and automated sends. If you have an online store, I don't think you should use another automation platform.
Cons
Segmentation and triggering workflows based on user segments are a bit more limited than tools like Braze or Iterable.

The Gold Standard for Shopify
The transition was fantastically simple, the IP warming was easy and everything about Klaviyo has made us happy so far.
Pros
I greatly enjoy using Klaviyo. We've utilized MailChimp, Zaius and more in our quest for a long term ESP that we are happy with and Klaviyo has been it. It's not the cheapest out there but it certainly isn't the most expensive and it feels like you really get a good value for the advanced features. The Shopify integration is easy and seamless and the Live Chat customer service has been responsive and helpful everytime. Very pleased with them.
Cons
Honestly, perhaps the only thing I don't like is that layout isn't as sleek as some of the other options but it's a very minor point.

Great email marketing software for ecommerce!
Pros
I've been using Klaviyo for about 9 months now, and I absolutely love it. It helped me increase the proportion of monthly store revenue by email from 10% to 50% in under 6 months. It's easy to use, easy to integrate with Shopify, and provides awesome functionalities that any ecommerce store could need. Their automated flows (abandoned carts, thank you emails, welcome series) all work seamlessly. They have many email templates to choose from, but you an also create your own templates easily with their template builder. No need to know how to code. Another reason to love Klaviyo is their ability to segment your audience. It's so easy to segment your audience based on their activity and interaction with your website. For example, creating segments of customers who purchased product X but didn't purchase product Y, or customers who viewed a certain product page but didn't make a purchase. By having these segments you can send very targeted emails to them, upping conversion rates. Their support is also fabulous. They're very responsive via live chat and/or email, and really take their time to help you. I've asked them so many things, and every single time I've been given tremendous support. The final reason why Klaviyo is great, is its price point. Other email marketing software such as Hubspot may have more features, but the price is unbelievably high. For a small business like ours where every penny makes a difference, we are so grateful for Klaviyo's prices.
Cons
I love Klaviyo, but what I wish they had is more features. Although, this makes sense because they offer everything at a lower price point than say, Hubspot. Many things are in the works though - I'm constantly in conversation with the support team, and they tell me that sophisticated features are in the works! Despite not having the most features in the email marketing world, this has never been a problem and has never deterred us from getting a lot of revenue from email marketing.

an effective platform for keeping customers in the loop about all promotions.
Using Klaviyo has been a great asset to our team's email marketing efforts. Not only have we been able to keep customers abreast of our new updates, but the data we've collected has also allowed us to refine our approach in many ways.
Pros
With Klaviyo, it's easy to run successful social media and email marketing campaigns. Klaviyo facilitates the entire process, from generating contact lists to posting promptly. The Klaviyo also gives a number of premade templates for incorporating advertisements (including images, links, and videos) into the email itself. I particularly like the segmentation tools because they allow us to make several sub-lists and split the primary campaign up into several sub-campaigns to reach all clients based on sub-lists. I appreciate how easily we can connect with the most popular social media advertising platforms, which provides us with more options for both publishing and collecting data. Klaviyo's data collection provides us with all the information we require, and we appreciate the clear presentation of the analytics in the reports and dashboards.
Cons
It's frustrating when Klaviyo slows down and we have to start over from scratch after making edits, especially if the Email we're creating has a lot of specifics. One of the things I don't like is the difficulty of presenting the results of some analyses.

A powerful tool to implement a unique advertising campaign via email and SMS
With Klaviyo, our e-mail and SMS marketing capabilities have evolved, and we can expand our marketing operations and target new segments of customers. With Klaviyo, we also have a library of analytics for all our previous campaigns, and we've taken advantage of it by keeping its flaws under scrutiny and continuous improvement.
Pros
I love the fact that Klaviyo gives us multiple options so that we can filter existing and potential customers and send out promotions and alerts on a regular basis. I love Klaviyo's ability to categorize customers into multiple segments based on their data and past transaction history, allowing for unique email and SMS formatting to suit each segment's needs. I also like the fact that it is easy to create new campaigns by using the ready-made templates provided by Klaviyo, and I also like the ease of importing and preparing contact lists and also scheduling send dates. I appreciate the excellent reports that Klaviyo provides us with, which give us a comprehensive analysis of the interaction of customers with our campaigns, and we can determine by means of these reports the extent of the success of those campaigns.
Cons
I haven't had any technical issues with Klaviyo. The user interface is very intuitive, all the tools are clear and easy to use, and I love the fact that there is a support team ready to help us and answer our queries at all times.

Excellent modern ESP platform
Pros
Ability to create more personalized emails based on how user is interacting with our website and purchase history. Great integrations with many eCommerce platforms.
Cons
If you are using a custom ecommerce platform with Java or .Net, there are no SDK's available for the integrations. The documentation for their REST API's is confusing. Ability to create and manage transactional email templates is clunky.

Klaviyo: my most dynamic and complete online store thanks to email and sms marketing.
I am an architecture student who took the subject "Web Programming" for a whole cycle of university and even though my main focus was not on digital marketing, throughout the course of that subject I was able to understand how tools like Klaviyo can be essential for the success of an online business or more specifically when we create an online store in Shopify. I had to gain new knowledge while creating and customizing email templates, as well as integrating subscription forms into websites and many more functionalities. Finally, by using klaviyo I got a broader vision of the potential of digital marketing tools and how they can be applied in different professional contexts despite not being directly my field of work.
Pros
What I liked the most about this tool was that I was able to integrate it with Shopify and Leaflet to acquire email marketing, and it was really easy to use and I was able to create and automate email marketing campaigns efficiently. In addition, thanks to its advanced segmentation system, I was able to reach my target audience precisely, obtaining a higher opening and engagement rate. And another point that I found interesting is that it allowed me to use SMS marketing, despite the fact that this type of communication is not widely used today, I implemented it because it was a requirement of my homework at the university, but still I found it useful and interesting.
Cons
The only bad thing I found about this tool was that as the number of subscribers increased, the cost of Klaviyo also increased considerably, which can be a problem for people or companies with no income. In my case, my university paid for everything. I had no problem.

Klaviyo
Email marketing. It is the best platform for email marketing.
Pros
This is probably the best platform for email marketing I have ever tried. Well, I use it for my online store in order to send twice a week week newsletters to my customers' inboxes. Besides the multiple options that Klaviyo has, which makes it easy to give life to any pattern / combination of emails possibly out there, pricing is really fair, and they count with a free plan as well. Designing is also easy. I have fulfilled all my expectations when it was the time to create emails to be sent to customers. Something that I really like is the local time for delivering emails because sometimes customers have different time zones; if email is supposed to arrive at 9AM, then it would arrive at that time (for customers). Also, I have to mention the extense documentation that Klaviyo has. Customer service is through email, but they always answer back to you in as soon as 2 hours or less.
Cons
They could make pricing a little more advantageous for their clients.
