Really love Teams - would highly recommend.

Really enjoy this software. It's a great way for teams to stay connected, to get a hold of someone quickly or do meetings or trainings easily within the organization.

Pros

I like the user-friendliness of Teams. It's easy for anyone to use, including people who have never used software such as this before. You can create groups, share files, create polls, screen record training sessions and so much more. If you ever used MSN Messenger back in the days, this is like a ramped up version of it! Lots of businesses use Teams so it's easy to set up a meeting and add a Teams link to have your meeting through. There are also no time limits which is a great feature. I really like how you can have live reactions in the Teams meetings as well (such as clapping hands if congratulating a teammate on a job well done) etc.

Cons

One feature I dislike about Teams is that you can't add people from other networks to your Teams chats. You can connect with people through Teams meetings links outside of your organization, but you can't just start up a chat with them like you can with people inside of your organization.

Good but with reliability issuees and without GNU/linux Support!

In fact, despite all the problems, it can get better with good software and some development. But unfortunately I can't trust it at the moment.

Pros

I use Microsoft Teams at a University. It is nice to have a complete software. We can share files with our colleagues. We can also save time by working jointly on some documents. It is also nice that it is extensible and has a lot of add-ons. For example, we have installed the tasks application, so we can assign tasks immediately and follow who is doing them. It's also nice to have a smartphone app.

Cons

Although it is a nice software in general, I don't want to work with it for two main reasons. Firstly, Linux support is very bad. Secondly, sometimes our files are lost. The interface is slow. Recently, some of our files were lost, including the pictures of the teams we set up. Also, when I tried to use the Office application in it, I typed the title and it deleted it immediately during autosave. I was using it before because it was the official system of our school, but now I'm starting to think that we need to switch to a different system. It is also necessary to back up the files frequently.

Pros

I like the quality of video conferencing, the ability to share the screen, transcribe feature, and the ability to connect with your team in an easy and efficient manner

Cons

I sometimes have issues when sharing my screen or connecting to our boardroom tv. The teams meeting will sometimes freeze and will need to be disconnected.

Sturdy Voice and Video Communication Tool

Pros

It is fully integrated into M365 making productivity and collaboration seamless.

Nicely integrated with Outlook, especially the calendar management.

Notification tab covers a lot.

24/7 Onedrive integration along with Word, excel, power point, and OneNote.

Zero issues with meetings and their creation, clear and smooth interface familiar to all who used Outlook.

Cons

A lot of features around Sharepoint feel redundant requiring too many clicks.

Teams channels often lag if the directory behind is 'heavy'.

Permissions can be confusing and need monitoring / admin online.

The latest update that blocks access to the center of the screen, where browser tabs are at the top, while sharing is insanely bad UI/UX. This requires immediate attention but it is still not solved.

Search function is similar to Outlook.

Good for kids online classes during pandemic period

We got to use it on daily basis as nothing best yet than this app for children online studies

Pros

We uses it daily for chat in between online class.
For online exams
For discussion in class.
my kid specially enjoys it as its the time to meet and see her school friends face to face in corona lockdown

Cons

Many things i dsnt like about this app

1)- class or exam link is broken sometimes , and we get hangs and moves to whatsapp Student group for asking help for additional link to same class/ exam

2) average people have weak internet and this app runs good only on good to strong internet ,which causes video freeze , link dsnt open , ejection of student while running class and poor audio /video quality

3) if we get ejected from class before the class going to end we dsnt see the class link anymore in calender option.. teacher get annoying at us and we explains her the
very helpless situation of app .

4)- we have to re request class link if we get ejected before the class ends, as calender option stop showing meetings links if time almost finished to re join.which is unfair

The Communication Tool of the Pandemic

MS Teams has been a fantastic tool which has allowed my team to stay in communication during the pandemic. It's become our most used tool which has succeeded in increasing collaboration and efficiency. Although there are a few small issues with this app, mainly being the glitches and deletion of chat messages older than 30 days, there are so many more pros to using this software. I can see us sticking to this software for a while.

Pros

MS Teams has become the backbone of my team. I love that we can create multiple channels on this and go the level of determining who can access a channel as well as that member's level of control. This is a great collaboration tool since we are able to upload documents and have multiple people access these at the same time to modify/view. It's easy to create large group chats and start meetings from the chat in situations where we need to have fast responses. The audio and video quality is pretty good and it's great that we can see the list of participants on a meeting as well as who else was invited but didn't join. I love that it updates if a member is currently active, offline, or presenting so we know who to contact and expect a response from. Also love that you can use tags to send messages to the intended people. The ability to view calendar and easily schedule meetings is also a great perk.

Cons

I least like the fact that chat conversations disappear after 30 days because then that data is lost. I also dislike that files can't be backed up because occasionally people delete files which are then completely gone unless someone stored a local copy on their machine. The app does occasionally glitch in large meetings which causes me to lose audio/video and the only solution is to restart the app and rejoin the meeting in order to restore that.

Teams - collaborative but behind the times in functionality and usability

We deployed Teams to get rid our of traditional phone lines - and as added perks it also does video conferencing, team chats and integrates well with Office 365. The premise is fantastic, however the quality is lacking from a company like Microsoft. The VoIP often has glitches and isn't perfect with dropped calls, voice quality issues, etc. and the video conferencing is definitely not up to the level of Zoom and some other products. Realizing this is an all-in-one software and isn't only for video meetings we have put up with the glitches but it would be nice if Microsoft could but some more R&D behind it to get it to the level needed to compete.

Pros

It integrates really well with Office 365 - and Outlook email - our two most used products. It works as it should and is relatively easy to use with multiple functions - i.e. VoIP, video conferencing, team chats, etc.

Cons

It is difficult to deploy in environments, it is not a robust as other products out there and it is relatively a new comer in the VoIP space so it does have a lot of technical glitches and errors - i.e. doesn't ring when called, voice quality is often subpar, etc.

Alternatives Considered

Google Workspace, Zoom Workplace and GoTo Connect

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Teams

Integration with Office 365 Pricing - while on the higher range - was reasonable and this software provided a 'catch-all' solution for all we needed to move to the cloud.

A Fantastic Way To Work Remotely!

Teams came in handy for my organizations during the COVID period as we were not allowed to work from the office in large numbers. We took all our meetings virtually using teams.
I did recruitments and trainings through teams.
Team work has since improved because we can screen share files and work on the same project easily.

Pros

I use Teams for my everyday office work; from meetings to training of new employees, webinars, File sharing and staying in constant communication with my co-workers or clients.
I have daily presentations with my clients and Teams has made it easy for me because of all the features they offer.

Cons

Teams tends to consume a lot of data bundles compared to other platforms forcing one to spend more on internet.

Probably switching to Slack and Zoom

Microsoft Teams does a good job. I don't want it to sound all negative, when it is a good videoconferencing solution. But, the User interface can feel a bit overwhelming, and the fact that Zoom is much more widely adopted, ultimately means that I'm likely going to switch back to Zoom, as I feel that they have done a good job of fixing the security holes that led us to switch over to Teams in the first place.

Pros

It's handy to have a software that is connected to my email provider, and it's relatively simple to use. We originally made this switch due to privacy concerns with Zoom, and it does carry out most of the functionality we need at least internally.

I do like that the default video quality is 1080p, and the number one reason for switching over from Zoom was security concerns, which Microsoft definitely does a fantastic job of. Microsoft Teams is more secure than Zoom.

Cons

It's not as widely adopted as Zoom, and so I find myself ending up using both softwares, one for internal organization and one for the public, and that ends up being inefficient and inconvenient.

I also find that Zoom is a simpler interface to use. Microsoft teams has so many different features and options that it can almost feel overwhelming. A lot of functionality seems like it ends up being an overpowered software for what we need.

Alternatives Considered

Zoom Workplace and GoTo Meeting

Reasons for Choosing Microsoft Teams

Primarily because of security concerns with Zoom.

A decent alternative for work messages, but not the best option

My experience with Microsoft Teams has been mixed. On one hand, it is a very useful call software and its notification system works really well. On the other hand, I find the interface not pleasant and not intuitive, and to my opinion it still misses some separation features like between group chats and personal chats. The possibility to see user status is nice, as well as the out of office information. The channels of a given team are easy to use and to navigate through and the comments system works well. However, I have used teams on both Windows and Ubuntu Linux and while it works well on Windows it still has a lot of bugs on Ubuntu Linux, which are unresolved and make competitors such as Slack gain quite a lot in this aspect.

Pros

The strongest point of Microsoft Teams is the call quality and the integration with outlook. Teams makes it possible to share calendars and check the availability of meeting participants, so that the scheduling can be done accordingly. The calls are always smooth and audible, and the interface of calls is very nice. One strong point is the ability to have both chat and call in the same software. The "Teams" feature is also well developed with the many channels helping workflow.

Cons

The interface is not pleasant. Adding documents and files to a chat makes it hard to find them again and the way the pinned tabs work is not really intuitive. Additionally, group chats and personal chats all appear in the same place under "chat" but it could be nice to have a separation between them, such that it is easier to understand who the messages are being send to. Slack does something similar by not only separating them but also putting a hashtag in front of channels, which makes it much easier to distinguish. The integration of apps such as OneNote is not optimal and keeping documentation is not intuitive and caused us to switch to a different documentation software.

Microsoft Teams - Making Remote Work Possible

I use Microsoft Teams all day, every day to engage with my team, communicate in the remote work environment, hold video meetings to incorporate as much human interaction as possible into the virtual environment. Teams allows me to share information with my team, help them in their daily tasks, play games to lighten the workday, send praise features to celebrate their hard work, etc. Remote work would not be possible (at least on my team) without it!

Pros

I would not be able to function in my role without the consistent, daily use of Microsoft Teams. I use Teams to easily chat with my team, host online Team events, share important data, private message, host video meetings, make quick and easy phone calls, etc. I also love that there are so many add-ons that I can utilize (like the Praise feature) to engage with my team and reward productive output.

Cons

The only con that I would list would be that the emoji menu should have a recently used section. But, this is super minimal, as the selection for emojis to brighten up my team chat and engage with my team is vast!

Our Global Team Easily Collaborate In Realtime via Audio/Chat/Video

We are able to meet and keep our remote team together with Microsoft Teams and also easily communicate with third party individuals with Microsoft Teams now accessible via the browser so no need for installation of an application. We also can easily schedule interviews and reviews.Collaboration is very easily as well and we have been using Microsoft Teams to create instructional videos

Pros

We like most how we are able to keep remote team together and have meetings with everyone at different timezones whether they are stationary, at the office or in transit.Scheduling meetings is easily and synchronize with Outlook's calendar. We are able to screenshare to better collaborate, share documents so persons can see documents in realtime while we discuss a matter. We are able to use Microsoft Teams like a remote access software similar to Team View and this is a great help for third party staff who have IT related issues where we do not install the corporate remote access tool since those devices are personal devices.

Cons

From a technical standpoint we do not like that Teams calendar feature is dependent on Microsoft exchange or Outlook's calendar so this is an issue we have for our users who are not using Microsoft exchange. It would be great if Teams had its own calendar or have the option of using its own.

MS Teams, Microsoft's new collaboration app that you will wonder how you did without it!!

Once you get used to its quirks and also get your head around how Teams and Channels work it becomes an invaluable addition to the Microsoft Office 365 Eco System. I now use it daily to plan and out and collaborate on my clients Channels / Teams with the added functionality from Apps, Connectors and Bots ive now been able to feed in many of the Cloud Apps and Services that i use for my business so that i have all the data i need in MS Teams. Also now Teams has the IM and VOIP functions all working ready to take over from Skype for Business when it retires fairly soon i also use Teams as my communication app on top of everything else which gives you some sort of idea how much it can actually do now.

Pros

What i like most about Microsoft Teams is its versatility, its uses seem to be endless. It took me a while to get used to using it as its grown as ive learnt to use it. Microsoft and 3rd Parties are still adding new functionality to Teams via apps, connectors and bots and it seems to be gaining pace as developers see that its adoption is taking off which for end users is great news as more than likely you will be able to find one of these apps, connectors and bots that will connect Teams to another Cloud App or Service that you use already making Teams even more productive to use.

Cons

Its Tennant switching function, Guest and External users still baffle me sometimes as its not straight forward to use. If your Azure AD user has been invited into a team that belongs to another Office 365 Tennant account you have to manually switch Teams to that Tennant account via a drop down which then switches over to that Office 365 Tennants Teams channels so that you can access the channel / team you have been invited into. Its as confusing as it sounds, I still dont think this is the answer to the multi tenant problem. Although to be fair its now a lot better than it was a year ago or earlier. Then to add to that confusion you then have the Guest and External user types, both types can be invited into your Office 365's tenants channel / team but the Guest user actually will add the invited user into your Azure AD as a guest user so that user has more rights to a channel / team than an External user. External users can be invited into a channel / team but there rights are very low but the External user type is mainly for the IM / VOIP / Meeting functionality in MS Teams.

I already shared it's Pros and Cons above, I personally recommends you people who reading this post, it's value for money app and you won't get down after experiencing it.

Cons are exceptional, you still use it's most of the feature without that also. Once you get hand on it you experience it's ease and enhance feature.

Thank You Microsoft !!!

Pros

1. The most intelligent feature is the link between it's similar platform application i.e. Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer & Microsoft Outlook etc.
2. Compatible to use in any browser, desktop application and mobile (iOS & Android) app.
3. Sync is constant between Microsoft Outlook Calendar and Microsoft Teams Desktop app Calendar.
4. Easy to join meeting through the received link "easily re-direct from browser to installed app" or Join option available under the desktop app.
5. Organization previously used Microsoft Lync and Skype for Business which is with very less feature and after this application integrated then user easily migrated to it in very less amount of time.
6. In-built whiteboard feature is plus-point for using this app over other video conferencing app.
7. Even very impactful in low bandwidth internet connection.
8. During meeting presenter have full control over the meeting attenders which is too good feature.
9. Very easy and user friendly graphical user interface available in app to create or schedule new meeting or Live etc.
10. Raise your Hand feature is good recent integration for the app, if any Quiz contest or seminar conducted in the app then it's very helpful for presenter.

Cons

1. Must work upon the monthly patch / update of the app, due to this every month it required update.
2. If someone joined the meeting as a Guest then there is no any information available / appear in meeting.
3. Meeting Attendance "Analytics & Reports" must be enable for meeting presenter / owner.
4. Raise your hand feature must come up with little sound notification with serial number who clicked first.
5. During remote session most of the feature (specially pop-up option) get out control, which cause issue to solve user issue accordingly.
6. Must add feature to permanently disable web cam for the user profile for privacy.
7. Must remove the option to sync OneDrive to share any attachment with the colleagues.
8. Must add the feature in app to view the monthly calendar in single window like Microsoft Outlook.
9. Add-ins issue is common with most the client , sometimes it's missing in Outlook app.
10. Also enable an option to save recorded meeting in local drive instead of cloud.

Review of Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a very good Knowledge Management tool with very nice Instant messaging and Collaboration features.

Pros

Microsoft Teams is a very nice Instant messaging and collaboration software. Microsoft Teams is getting popular and many organizations have slowly started implementing the same. Microsoft Teams includes very nice features like Instant messenger which useful for the employees to chat with other co-employees within the same organization quickly and getting answers when needed. The other features are Calendar which allows the user to quickly schedule meetings, plan there schedules, Join the meetings with Audio & Video and also one can easily share their desktop or applications during the meetings. Microsoft teams also allows to have group conversations, get notifications on the chat messages, one can easily share screenshots or images during the conversation for quick clarifications, Wiki allows more than one person edit and update on the fly. One can also add the attachments required during the conversations. Microsoft Teams can be accessed through the software installed or using Browser to quickly join the meetings. One can also add other small applications within Microsoft Teams for better collaboration among the teams. Microsoft Teams also has a mobile app which allow the user to quickly join the meetings.

Cons

Microsoft Teams though very popular also has few demerits. Microsoft Teams is a proprietary product and it is a paid tool. It also has limited free version but not preferred by organizations. There are issues like Audio disturbances and sometimes it take too much time to join the meeting as the application need to load initially. In big organizations there will be more than one Instant messenger and this can create confusion. Most companies already has Skype and have started with Microsoft Teams & both do not sync and update status during meetings.

The best of the simple, functional and practical

In general, I really like this software being the one I currently use in my work and it suits me well with an interesting performance and the convenience of being accessed on all devices. I recommend it to everyone.

Pros

This is one of the most useful and useful software in the entire office package. After the implementation of this software in the companies where I worked, I realized that the tasks related to meetings and to be more practical and easy to perform, as it was no longer necessary to perform integrations or accesses in other environments or configure the infrastructure equipment manually.

In the scenario in which we currently live (currently pandemic) this software proves to be something really useful and functional, solving with elegance and practicality a communication problem that most people were using, from corporate meetings to classes in an educational environment.

The features are interesting and meet virtually all scenarios, something to highlight is the possibility of recording meetings without the need to install plugins for this action and also the convenience of making presentations, task boards, WIKIs in teams, posts, which it helps me a lot in my day-to-day.

It is certainly a software that is still evolving, but it presents something very interesting and highly recommended.

Cons

It is undeniable to say that this software is not among the best in its category and is also very practical and functional, however, I would like to suggest a few things:

1. It would be interesting to list the documents and links sent in a conversation in a separate window within the chat of the conversation or meeting, so it would be easier to retrieve an old document for example.

2. When holding meetings on different days with the same users, the chat history is messed up because in these meetings different files and / or links can be shared. I suggest that it is possible to group these conversations by date so that the history would be more organized.

3. Have the possibility to expand the task board to be used for conversations with users and not just for teams.

These are some suggestions that I have to contribute but in general I reiterate that this software is one of the best in its category.

The best app for video/audio calls

Because of the Covid pandemic, physical classes are not possible, so we can only do online classes. Microsoft Teams has allowed me to collaborate with various working teams.
Through Microsoft teams, I can engage in discussions with participants locally and globally.

Pros

Ability to share screens hence the best app for online learning and conference meetings.
Allows syncing with Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
Ability to mute users with background noise.
The ability to record the sessions, so that one can revisit the session later on.
Scheduling of meetings through the Outlook calendar makes it possible to plan for meetings beforehand.
Being able to see and hear from meetings, therefore gives one the boardroom meeting feel.
Allows the participants to raise their hand to participate in the discussion.
Ability to share files on the chat section.
I like how I can turn on video so that others can see me.
I like how i can chat with participants on the chat section.

Cons

At times letting people into the meeting becomes a challenge. It keeps saying admitting failed. I would love to say that only the admins of the group can let the people into the meeting.
At times the call keeps dropping, which leads to inconveniences.
Switching between accounts is hectic since one has to keep in logging in and logging out to access the accounts. Instead of logging out, we should have a switch accounts option.
Despite being a free version, one still needs to pay in order to access all the features.

Microsoft Teams our meeting platform

With teams, working from home was significantly more efficient. We have our workplace meetings booked on a calendar, and unlike Zoom, there is no time limit. We're able to transfer papers back and forth, as well as share screens and open files at the same time to work on jointly. It has been extremely beneficial in transitioning our firm from a paper-intensive brick and mortar to a more electronic-based remote operation.

Pros

The online video conferencing and screen sharing, as well as the ability to invite an infinite number of people to the conference, are my favorites.
The feature of the live caption on the meeting document storage in SharePoint

Cons

One of the major problems with Microsoft teams at my firm is the retention policy of the communications you transmit. If you have something critical in a message, it will be erased after a short amount of time, potentially causing data loss. If you're communicating about crucial matters in teams, you'll need a mechanism to save any critical information from these meetings. Another downside of Microsoft Teams is the lack of consistent notifications. It can be irritating when the purple banner shows in the bottom corner of your screen every few minutes. To limit the amount of time this is a distraction, I recommend changing this in the Settings.

Great for workplaces, may need training at first it not tech-savvy

Overall, this is a convenient app for working with actual teams/groups such as in a business or workplace. I wouldn't recommend for external persons.
There are so many features that can be helpful and useful; however, it takes some time to figure out how to use them.

Pros

Great for workplaces as it helps to collaborate and communication easily with your groups/teams.

You can create various groups, use the chat feature, share information, documents, and use apps. You can also pin frequently used apps at the top of the group for easy access.

Video conferencing is great for virtual meetings. You can create video calls with the usual features and more. You are able to create the call, invite persons to join, use voice and video, share screen, upload documents, use chat features, record and save the video etc. I like that you are able to upload a PowerPoint which gives you more functionality than other meeting/conferencing programs. You can also call persons individually (VoIP) using WiFi or data.

Teams integrates with other Microsoft products where you can use apps through the Teams program.

In an increasingly virtual space, it is also helpful when working from home/remotely. There is also a mobile app which makes taking calls or joining meetings easy from whenever you are.

Cons

Not as suited for use with external persons outside of your team.

It is not as user friendly as you would expect and takes some time getting used to it. Persons may need some MS Teams specific training in order to navigate the software, especially for persons we are not tech savvy.
It is difficult to understand how to use some of the features and integrations. For example, you are able to add various apps to groups but it takes some tinkering aroung to figure out how to use them in the group. Also, at times, it is a bit confusing when trying to manage files.
