Brightpearl is a fantastic all in one ERP system
Brightpearl is a fantastic all in one ERP system that is great for connecting all your eCommerce channels under one roof. They key to any eCommerce growth is being able to automate as much as possible and this is where Brightpearl excels. When we started using Brightpearl back in 2014 we were processing around 100 orders per month. In 2020 we are processing more than 100 orders per day and without Brightpearls automation this would not have been possible.
Pros
Great for automating your eCommerce orders.
Cons
Finance system needs improving for handling offline customer credit accounts.

Hi Adam,
Thank you so much for your review. Automating manual tasks to give time back has been our thing since day one so it's great that you're getting so much value out. 100 orders to almost 3000 orders a month is amazing and we're so pleased we've been such a key component in making that happen!
Thank you again,

Why oh why is it so hard to find an awesome ERP in this space? Hold up! Brightpearl? Yes!
In the jungle of ERP for DTC brands, Brightpearl is the Jaguar, lurking in the shadows. Deadly (aka effective) but with less fanfare than the lions and the tigers. If you're doing multi-channel and need an ERP/WMS/OMS, get a demo!
Pros
Seamless integration for our multiple channels of commerce. Cloud-based, no need for IT staff to maintain. Infrequently goes down. Never gone down at a critical time aka BFCM. Plays nice with Shopify, Amazon, retail, in-house orders.
Cons
Training could be better for rank-and-file staff. Handling of sales tax (in multiple jurisdictions aka Wayfair ruling) could be better.

Wow! I'm not sure I've ever read a review like that, Peter, and it's great that it's about Brightpearl!
It might be a cliche, but we do see ourselves a gap in the market for the reasons you've noted here. We love having you and the rest of the team as a customer and we hope that we'll be able to be part of your success story for many more years to come.
Thank you,

An ERP that attempts to find a mid-market ecommerce niche but falls short in many ways
Overall, Brightpearl did not meet its promises. After just 6 months, we made a decision to start looking elsewhere and abandon the tremendous investment we had made in Brightpearl.
If your business has over $5 million in sales, and a dedicated full time bookkeeper who interacts daily with both purchasing staff and sales staff, Brightpearl may be a fit for you. If not, we do not recommend Brightpearl.
Pros
Brightpearl has a lot of features and can be powerful at automation in some areas.
Cons
Brightpearl is expecially weak in several essential areas: onboarding/training, user interface, purchasing automation. Brightpearl charges a hefty price (more than $10K) for onboarding data, setup and training and both are disappointing. Data migration is complex because Brightpearl keeps its data in an uncommon way. You will need a third party data consultant familiar with Brightpearl data to get the data in the right format. Training is inadequate. We were never trained in much of the system because the trainer ran out of time. We asked repeatedly for more training but were not given it. This created enormous extra work for our team throughout the first few months. In fact, the training was so incomplete that we never received any training on the general ledger of the ERP. ERPs are rooted in accounting. But we were not trained on it. The user interface is antiquated. We've never experienced a user experience that required so many clicks to do the most basic things. Data is not visible in context during purchasing or inventory management. Purchasing in general is clunky. Time consuming.
Reasons for Choosing Brightpearl
We left Volusion and moved to BigCommerce. Whereas Volusion had a native inventory management system, Bigcommerce does not. So we needed an inventory management system with automation for drop ships and in-house fulfillment. We thought Brightpearl would provide inventory management, sales automation and financial accounting that would provide transaction level insight into our purchasing and sales.Switched From

Hi Steve,
Thank you for the feedback.
I'm sorry to hear that you're reporting such issues with our onboarding. Our implementation team match training plans with against a defined list of the modules our customers tell us they're looking to adopt when they go live with us. In short, if something will be used, training on it will be provided.
We have been aware you feel that training has fell short in some areas and in response, your Project Manager and our VP of Global Professional Services have both attempted to get in touch with you to schedule additional training, but have not received any response.
We would really like to discuss these issues 1:1, so please get in contact with us ASAP so we can work on a way forward together.

Manages the core of our business, finances and products.
We have been using brightpearl for several years now and the core function of the system has been to centralise around the accounts and stock management for our business. This means it's super easy to keep control of the business critical systems. The system has grown and expanded and as a small business I don't need a lot of this but it's there incase.
The most important thing we have found is the super easy simple Brightpearl POS solution that is sharing the same core data for products/customers/payments as our website and accounts in real time so if the last item sells online then we don't over sell this in store at the weekend. We have two small showrooms and can have two separate pos channels that make it easy to deal with customers in store and telephone orders in the main program. Push sales from POS to backend and vice versa. It makes us more efficient and look more professional in store and on the phone.
Even as a small business we have constantly changing stock and a large number of products (over 11,000) so need control of those as simply as possible. Brightpearl has done that for us along with accounts functionality.
I hope as brightpearl expands it can keep true to it's roots of supporting small businesses with a system that would normally only be available to big business with big budgets. The core simple EPOS is just perfect for us with multichannel order routes to the dispatch desk.
Pros
the simple EPOS systems linked into the core of the system in real time. You have to do things by the book and can't cut corners in processes.
Cons
Sometimes you have to do things by the book and can't cut corners in processes.

Great customer support
Pros
Brightpearl provides great customer support. Shout out to [sensitive content hidden]. He's been very helpful and kind throughout all phases of the project. It's very easy to find the answer to your question in the BP help center.
Cons
You'll have to be patient while working on the platform. Sometimes it's a little bit tricky to find what you want. The best advice is to keep discovering the platform and get ready to spend long hours reading the articles from the help center.

Excellent software for growing E-Commerce business
Pros
As our company grew we needed a better system for inventory management and sales orders processing across multiple channels. Brightpearl was the perfect solution for us. Now we're able to easily track everything live in our warehouse and efficiently handle orders, POs, and returns all through one system. Without Brightpearl our company wouldn't have been able to expand to multiple warehouses across different states.Additionally, the Brightpearl implementation team was extremely helpful in getting us up and running with lots of training and fine tuning of the data to fit our needs.I'd definitely recommend Brightpearl to any company looking to expand and have a higher level of organization for their team.
Cons
There were no major cons for us with this software.
Response from Sage
Hi there Anthony,
Thank you so much for your review, we love hearing from our customers!
It's fantastic to hear how well Brightpearl is meeting your needs particularly being able to have visibility of your orders, purchases, and returns.
Your feedback on your implementation team is also wonderful to hear. Being able to hit the ground running is such an important consideration for other e-commerce brands so your endorsement is so valuable for them.

It's good enough to run my business on
Pros
Brightpearl is both multicurrency and multi warehouse which is key to my business. It's easy to achieve this without heavy training.
Cons
I dislike 2 things. I need multicurrency journeys and they don't supply plus the report writing is complex and difficult to customise.
Response from Sage
Hi Justine,
Thank you for sparing the time out of your day to review us. We love to hear from our customers, so thank you.
I'm really pleased to hear that our multi-currency and warehousing functionality are helping you grow your business. It's great that you find Brightpearl easy to navigate and use too as we designed it that way.
We'd like to hear more about your constructive feedback. We provide multi-currency as you've said in your review, but if you need this extended further then we'd really like to hear your thoughts around specifics. Likewise, our reporting is customisable, but if it's not doing what you need, we'd like to explore this with you too.
The best way to get this started is to drop a line to your Customer Success Manager and they will schedule some time with you to hear your thoughts.

Getting Better and Better- 8 Months working with BP
After 6 months, i now have a functional product. I've tried several other Multichannel inventory systems and they all have issues, so it is to be expected.. I choose to stick with BrightPearl because of their potential. I am not using the accounting part yet because it doesn't save me time and doesn't have the functions for Amazon FBA returns...YET... I'm hoping they read this and put it on their "to do" list.
The reports and inventory management are the basics I'm using right now. We have over 3000 skus and they are managing them well. it is saving me time and money when reordering and gives me the knowledge of what is selling well and what isn't.
The money it is saving me with cutting edge inventory management is worth it. The rest is gravy. They are constantly updating and improving the product, So I can't wait to see what is next.
I would recommend them, especially if you sell on Amazon FBA.
Pros
Multi Channel inventory management - Including Amazon FBA
Reports - to many to list
The Accounting System
***The in house customer Service is exceptional. They deserve an award!!! They are the reason I'm a customer.***
Cons
Set up was a long process. i was assigned to an outside company Ferrier Johnson. Avoid them if possible.
They are still having "Growing Pains" and many features are in need of improvement.

A Great Small to Medium Size Business All-in-One Solution for Customer Relation Management Tool
The customer service is truly amazing. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] is definitely a rare breed in the area of marketing referrals. He conducted himself with a great deal of integrity when demo-ing the product for our company.
Pros
What features I love about this software are the all-in-one solution that provides the ease of accessing customer information in one place. Instead of bouncing from various tabs attempting to retrieve customer specific details, this software collects all the data into one place.
Cons
This software may not be the solution for companies who manufacture products. They do not provide this as an option in their inventory management system.

Hi Stacy,
Thank you very much for sparing the time to review us.
It's great to hear that you love our integrated package. The benefits you describe are a key element of exactly what we designed it to achieve - retail efficiency.
We acknowledged that manufacturing wasn't something that we didn't support as well as we could, so we developed our Bill of Materials module which you can find out more about here: https://www.brightpearl.com/integrations-bom/bom-module.
Thank you for your kind words about Phil. You echo our own thoughts, and I'll be sure to pass your comments on.

Great for internet sellers
Pros
I have been using Brightpearl for the past 10 years which is a sign I am a very happy customer. We find it very user friendly, convenient for the entire team to access data and work on relevant processes and we like the fact it is totally integrated so no systems issues.
Cons
I don’t have any dislikes but I have requested features such as batch processing and fractional units

Would Recommend Brightpearl
Overall the experience is very good. With the Automation App, orders are fulfilled direct to the warehouse by-passing customer services, and invoicing is completed automatically at the end of each day.
Pros
Easy to use. Gives a full view of the business with order management, stock and accounting all together in the one product
Cons
Revenue reporting on sales of products sold within bundles. Revenue is attributed to the bundled product and not to the individual product. Therefore manual manipulation of the exported data is needed.
Response from Sage
Hi Nikki,
Thank you so much for your review, we love receiving feedback from our customers!
I'm really pleased you find Brightpearl easy to use and our functionality meets the majority of your business goals. It's particularly great to hear that you're fulfilling orders swiftly by actioning the exceptions rather than each order.
On your comment on revenue reporting, have you raised this with your Success team or Brightpearl Support? I'll do this for you and get them to follow-up with you directly.

A Very Unfortunate Choice
We used OMX as our ERP for ten years and when Oracle decided to sunset that product, we chose Brightpearl. We prepaid $45,500 for the implementation and one year of service with the agreement that the implementation would be complete before the scheduled end of OMX. Ultimately, Brightpearl never finished the implementation and the project lead told us they could not come on site as agreed.
With only days left until Oracle shut down our ERP, we finally cancelled our agreement with Brightpearl and started over again with Oracle NetSuite so that we could continue to run our business.
To this day, we have not received a refund of any part of the $28,000 we paid for the first year of service for a software system that was never finished. I did not request refund of the implementation costs.
Pros
We never operated the software as the implementation was not completed.
Cons
Some of the components of the system were not native to Brightpearl requiring the user to log into another system to work . Since the overall system was kludged together from multiple sources, there were some overlaps which lead to confusion for our staff during training. We would have worked this out over time by creating our own procedure manuals, but it was unexpected.
Response from Sage
Hi Kathi,
Thank you for your feedback. I see where you're coming from in terms of wanting all the apps in one platform.
For the overwhelming majority of our offering, this is the case. However with a few exceptions they are broken out into individual areas due to the specificity of those apps: warehousing, demand forecasting, POS etc. We've had some positive customer feedback around this aspect by staff in these business areas as they can focus on their roles without being distracted by functionality not relevant to them day-to-day.
I'm really sorry that we weren't able to work through your concerns and launch your business on Brightpearl. Hopefully we'll see you down the road.

Helped us scale efficiently
Pros
We would have been unable to grow our company from 1 million to 3 without the help of the Brightpearl. It is great to be able to handle all stock movements, customer transactions and accounting in one place. The team have always been helpful and friendly and have felt like we had a partner in software as opposed to some large faceless organisation.
Cons
Not much - If I am looking for one then the user interface can be a little tricky for newcomers to the team but once trained this does not seem to be a long term issue.
Response from Sage
Hi Steve,
Thank you! We're so pleased that we've had a role in helping you with that growth, it's great to see. As you say, being able to hone in on focus areas and automate the day to day operations are key and something we've been focused on from day one.

Brightpearl for Wholesale and Retail
We've used BP as our main business software for the last 5 years. We're an online retailer using multiple channels and also sell wholesale.
Having been with BP for 5 years, we've recently reviewed the various software options open to us as we decided to outsource our bookkeeping (so it seemed appropriate to look at other options). We looked into several alternatives - mainly centered around using Xero for accounting and linking that to a stock management system. Having looked at the various options we decided that BP was best for us.
There were a lot of bugs in the past, but these have greatly reduced in number. The expansions and upgrades that are now really making the software work for us. We're just about to turn on the Amazon integration and the multicurrency function - hopefully, these will work as well and help us to make our processes more efficient.
Pros
All in one stock/order/accounting solution.
Cons
Support can be sporadic, some long term bugs.

Pros

The integration of Warewolf is a game changer when managing inventories.
Cons
Unable to split pick, pack and ship functions when allocating to team members. Operatinally, our team do not do all 3 functions, and so it is difficult to monitor employees productivity.

Excellent ERP/CRM for English speaking users
We´ve been with Brightpearl for about 6 years now and have been very happy with how easy Brightpearl is to use. It is extremely intuitive and does practically everything you need to run a business. Inventory control, Purchase Orders, Invoicing, etc... If your business is in the UK or the US the tax codes are easy to set up and manage. We even have it connected to two Shopify stores drawing from the same stock using two different price lists for sales. The only downside we´ve had with the program is our business is located in Spain and there are tax laws here that make some of Brightpearl unusable for us. Otherwise it´s been a great experience.
Pros
Ease of use. Really easy to learn and manage.
Cons
We´re a business located in Spain and the program is not made for our country´s tax laws and we´ve had to create some workarounds to make certain features work.

Brightpearl Review
I can think of two experiences. The first was having lost some functionality in the ability to choose my default screen view after a major software update - I wrote to BP Support. The team immediately owned my issue and understood the issue. They walked me through a timeframe to introduce a new and better feature. They rolled this out, and informed me personally before the roll out. Indeed the new default screen layout function was a vast improvement on the last.
Similarly, I wanted to roll into Business Intelligence (BI). The Chief Technical Officer phoned me personally to discuss this implementation and liaised with me throughout the implementation.
This service was just amazing.

Brightpearl - the perfect e-commerce solution for our business
We struggled to find the best ecommerce system for our business model = design, manufacture and wholesale for years.
We reviewed about 20 systems in all and paid a fortune to implement 2 that simply did not deliver - such as waste of money.
We thank goodness eventually found Brightpearl - it has quite simply transformed things for us.
I don't know how we ran a business like ours before BP. It is cloud-based, easy to use, intuitive and so so clever.

We would highly recommend Brightpearl to any business looking to make their stock control and general business so much easier. :)

Ease of use, plenty of help articles and great phone assistance too!

I'd recommend it.
We've been using Brightpearl for nearly 2 years now to run multiple sales channels - 3 Magento stores, 6 Amazon marketplaces, Telephone and postal orders.
At first we had teething problems and there were a few curses thrown around the office, but more recently the system has been something that runs in the background and facilitates our business activities. This is in no small part due to the investment Brightpearl has made in making their system more robust and their commitment to continually push out updates.
When you first set up Brightpearl it can be a steep learning curve, especially if you want to sync all of your attributes in your existing Magento site with attributes in Brightpearl. For an existing store with several thousand products this can be a mammoth task. Brightpearl give excellent support throughout the setup process though, and once you've done it then it's done.
We've had a few gripes with the system.
- The handling of multiple currencies is not ideal, especially if you take sales in different currencies and have foreign currency bank accounts. Full multi-currency handling is in the pipeline though.
- The way the system handles drop-shipping is also not perfect, but again Brightpearl know and are working on improving the process
Pricing - it seems expensive compared to some systems, but for us it's definitely worth it and I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

First ERP for Fashion Business
We are a fashion business working in both wholesale and retail. Brightpearl seems to be without peer in the price bracket it sits in and its ability to tie in all the channels our business work across.
Pros
Genuine open database with API and ERP
Cons
Not tailored to fashion so we have had to adapt and develop our own API driven analysis
