I Am Most Impressed With Shopify
I’m very happy with them and have convinced my friend to sign up. She is happy with it too
Pros
I love the ease of use and learning didn’t take too much time. I use it to cash out my customers and inventory management as well as website maintenance.
Cons
The price. The additional apps can be confusing. I wish they had better apps for social media posts. They did but the social companies pulled the apps as far as I know. I can’t afford paid ads all the time and the posts directly from my products across all socials were so helpful. Now I can only post in Facebook.
Reasons for Choosing Shopify POS
They had no way at the time of removing inventory from the website and my point of sale system.Reasons for Switching to Shopify POS
I was able to contact someone and ask questions at shopify. The others were also more expensive for hardware.- Industry: Maritime

Shopify POS Works Great with 3rd Party Apps
Overall, we are able to find work arounds for most issues and eventually we get things working. The convenience of the Shopify POS App is sometimes overshadowed by a need for 3rd party apps, and lots of time fiddling around. A major plus is that most issues that I encounter are issues for everyone else too, so I can usually find my answers in an archive somewhere. The bad news is that some issues have been around for years and are still not resolved. For instance, the month-end inventory snapshot sometimes takes up to 2 weeks into the new month to show the month prior.
Pros
I love the ability to integrate our online store with our brick & mortar location. Before Shopify, we had to put in every order twice to capture the online sale. Now it's simple to manage our products both online and in store.
Cons
It doesn't have the ability to do Weighted Average Cost (or any other costing method that isn't FIFO). Additionally, Shopify POS doesn't have any report to track adjustments made to inventory-- you must go into each individual item to view adjustment history per item. There's no way to track bulk adjustments made in the inventory screen. We use 3+ apps just to make Shopify POS work as a normal POS should.

LightspeedReasons for Choosing Shopify POS
Quickbooks POS informed us all that they would no longer be supporting their POS system and that sent everyone into a scramble. Shopify was presented as a partnered alternative with many incentives to make the switch to them. We're a non-profit operation with a small brick & mortar store and an even smaller online store so it seemed like a good fit for us!Switched From
QuickBooks DesktopReasons for Switching to Shopify POS
It came down to price at the end of the day. Also, I believe that the CFO was under the impression that Shopify could work with Weighted Average Cost -- we might have gone with something else if she'd known that it does not!- Industry: Cosmetics

Shopify POS for transactions
Overall shopify did its job when it came to processing and putting through transactions. I would say the downsides are more so when the internet connection isn’t great which can cause some issues and disruptions to processing.
Pros
I liked that Shopify had everything you need to see on screen. Making it easy to view transactions and what was scanning up before processing it through.
Cons
I had problems sometimes with items scanning incorrectly or taking a while to process transactions which made it quite slow. It could have been the internet connection that affected this though and not the app itself.

Shopify POS provides the user friendly and quality POS solution
I have overall very positive experience with Shopify POS. I have been so impressed with everything that Shopify offers. It works great with our marketing automation and accounting software. The integration and their reporting is very impressive as well. I overall recommend it every business.
Pros
I personally like the user interface which is clean and user friendly. The navigation is easy and anyone can manage the transactions. Handling online returns is also very easy with Shopify POS.
Cons
Some standalone features and offline transactions options are missing. Hopefully, Shopify will work on those features.

Savy, Trendy & Handy POS Software
Pros
Shopify POS is my go-to POS software. I use it for almost all purchases. It's easy to scan digital cards, which is useful since most people have tap-to-buy phone capabilities.
Cons
This software is regularly updated and secure. It doesn't have any growth areas in my opinion. It's perfect.

Use Shopify POS and Sell Anywhere
I found the system easy to use for me and my customers. It was easy to learn how to use it. The customer support was outstanding and they seem to know their stuff.
Pros
I like the fact that I can sell anywhere and receive my money for my products that I was selling. I like the tools that they offered sellers like me.
Cons
The price is the only thing I didn’t like because I was just starting out as a seller.

Shopify helps to Sell-ify more items.
It is a very pleasant and easy experience, make a smooth process out of selling items. But I can't speak to the admin side of the app.
Pros
Very easy to learn, especially if you have used any other point of sale applications. Take multiple forms of payment easy. Even tap credit cards or phones for payments.
Cons
Not much to dislike. Occasionally it takes a little while for a transaction to fully process, but by and large everything works quickly.

Easy POS to Streamline Retail Sales
Shopify POS is a powerful point-of-sale system designed for retail businesses. One of the biggest pros of the tool is its ease of use. It is user-friendly and easy to set up, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Additionally, Shopify POS supports a wide range of payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments, which makes it easy for customers to pay for their purchases.

Must have POS Software
Although there are some minor imperfections, I continue to utilize Shopify POS because it remains the most user-friendly point-of-sale solution for my business. Moreover, I find the pricing to be reasonable.
Pros
Setting up and utilizing Shopify POS proved to be a fast and effortless process. Since I had already established my online store using Shopify, all I had to do was install Shopify POS on my iPhone, and I was ready to begin selling. The seamless integration between my store and the POS system for managing products, customers, and orders made the entire management process highly efficient.
Cons
Honestly, I don't have any significant criticisms about Shopify. If I were to mention a minor drawback, it would be that not all features are included by default, and additional apps are required for certain functionalities unless you opt for Shopify Pro.

Shopify is by far the best shopping cart I've every used, and the POS is no exception.
It's constantly saving us money. With Shopify POS we don't have to spend anything extra for the POS support that connects into our existing shopping cart.
Pros
VALUE. Shopify allowed us to have a free developer account to test and work through our hesitations before paying a penny for the cart. The POS system comes with the cart for free, it works flawlessly on any apple device, I haven't tried the android offering, but I'm sure it's great as well. The account comes with multiple logins for managing employees with specified permissions for keeping eyes and fingers out of places they shouldn't be. And to top it all off it has a fantastic API connection that allows us to connect it to our Fishbowl Inventory Management system, which brings in the orders from both cart and POS and sorts the inventory out, handles the shipping with shipstation, posts back tracking and fulfills the orders in shopify and all the while capturing all the financial data in QB. I could seriously fire multiple employees for all the time and work this automation is doing for me.
Cons
If I had to complain it would be that there are some things you can't customize that you might be able to with one of the self hosted carts such as magento, woocommerce, or even magento 2.

Amazing POS solution for Shopify store owners
Overall experience is very satisfactory and does all the things that we have expected out of a POS system. I would definitely recommend it to someone who has an online Shopify store and a retail store to sync the data and leverage the power of Shopify in analytics, order management, and inventory management with multiple locations
Pros
The most important feature of this product is it syncs the retail store orders with your online store and keeps the order management easy. It also takes care of payment processing and sales reports. We can use multi-location in Shopify to differentiate the inventory between the online store and the retail store.
Cons
I have remembered that there were some issues/limitations on the Shopify side when it came to refunding some of the orders and we can't find the order by the customer name, in such scenarios, It could have been better when the customer don't have their credit card or email with them

Not a fan of the app update
The old POS app was very easy to use, but with the update I am thinking of switching to Square. I reached out customer service about the possibly of reverting to the old app; they respond quickly which is great, but unfortunately we are stuck with the new app which I do not think will work for our business.
Pros
Shopify makes it easy to add and edit products to your library. It's great that it tracks inventory and can easily see sales and customer data.
Cons
I have been using shopify pos for almost 2 years and am very disappointed with the recent upgrade. We use the pos app for farmers markets and oftentimes don't have great internet. With the new update, we cannot even get into the app without great internet. Additionally, there is a new password feature that is used to get into the app. It was not very intuitive to figure out how to turn this off and caused some problems with our staff. The new layout is not very user friendly as I find myself having to do several extra steps to complete a sale than I used to.

Easy to Master
Shopify provides a simple, easy to master platform on which to layer our eCommerce shop.
Pros
e-commerce customers enter their orders, information is transmitted to our DC, the DC transmits back shipping information, the shipping information is emailed to the customer and we get paid.
Cons
It still programs in computer language. Changing content isn't as simple as it could be for non-programmers like most of the users/admins probably are.

love centralizing my POS and website together!
got us more sales!~
Pros
I was using square as my POS for a long time and it worked fine for years I had zero complaints
but something better came along shopify POS ... the reason i decided to switch over (again i had 0 issue w square i loved it) is because my website runs on shopify so its alot nicer to be able to ring customers up and tie it to my website i can then add them to my email list , aesthetically it looks nicer esp on the customers end, i can literally sell items from my website on the go!
love it! helps me track what i sell more of, which makes my job easier!
the fees are decent.
Cons
I did sign up for this when it first came out so I had to "wait" a few weeks before it got to me, which was not a big deal but really was the only con .
no complaints as of yet

Why I like Shopify POS
Overall, my experience with Shopify POS has been undeniably positive. The platform has provided us with a user-friendly and efficient point of sale solution that has significantly improved our business operations.
Pros
It offers several benefits that make it a positive choice for businesses. It provides a user-friendly interface, allowing merchants to easily manage sales, track inventory, and process payments in a streamlined manner. With its seamless integration with other apps, it makes our business run more effectively.
Cons
One aspect that we have noticed that could be challenging for users looking to implement Shopify POS would be the potential cost. While it offers a range of features and benefits, the associated expenses, such as transaction fees and monthly subscription charges, can accumulate and could become costly. It's important for businesses to carefully consider their budget and needs to ensure that the pricing structure aligns with their expectations.

It works okay but not great
It does the job, but I think Square is overall better.
Pros
I like that it integrates with Shopify. The card readers are high quality. The app interface is okay.
Cons
The app is different on iPad versus iPhone. The iPad version is way better, but we do mostly outdoor events, so we use phones and it's a bummer.

Needs some work to become a full featured POS system
Pros
Relatively easy to set up with recommended hardware for not a ton of money. Runs off an iPad and supports multiple users and cash management. Isn't like a lot of the antiquated POS systems out there
Cons
Checkout flow can be slow which is difficult when there is a long line. Wish it were better at handling exchanges and returns. Would require us to go to the web version of Shopify to get full access to order controls.

I have loved using Shopify pos
Pros
Ease of use, that it can be set up on an iPad, wireless scanner capabilities. Easily to do phone orders. Syncs with website
Cons
Returns can tend to be difficult at times due to the new update. Sometimes I only want to do store credit but it will give me an option to put it on their credit card only so we have to manually figure it out. The old version was much better in my opinion.

Awesome service for POS
Using Shopify POS has made a huge impact overall in our business and customer relations. We can keep much better records and communication with both clients and customers. This makes the service well worth the price and a dire necessity to any business! Try it for one month and you’ll never use another POS system again.
Pros
Perfect system for POS! The seamless way of operating make this service a breeze to work with. As an admin you have free range to adjust your stock and service ms and much more! This ability to customize the POS system is my favorite part about Shopify.
Cons
You are limited in the free trial to what you can test. It is worth purchasing the service because without buying in, you cannot customize your system.

Reasons to Use
Shopify was a very simple product to learn. It was simple to reach to others so that there could be many working on a entering products. We went from an really old computer software that only allowed one person to input inventory. Shopify made that work very easy to do.
Pros
After being out of retail for a few years, shopify was simply easy to use and to teach to others.
Cons
It was hard to check on human erros. Although it was simple to use checking if items were put in correct tok time.

Shopify POS with Mobile Pay Options.
It's easy to train our volunteers to use and troubleshoot. We use both the little white Shopify dip and swipe reader and the sturdier-looking black tap dip and swipe reader and have no trouble with either. Set up is easy and payments are are recorded as received on different readers, making it easier to sort the source of sales, if not the item.
Pros
Easy to set up and define products for sale at a physical store. Located on a 55 acre site, we need it about once a month in multiple locations simultaneously, so it wouldn't necessarily pay to set up connected accounts. We need it to use mobile credit card readers over wi-fi and without a dedicated phone or i-pad with a SIM card. We bought 2 refurbished ipads, 2 kinds of mobile card readers, extended the reach of our wi-fi, and we were ready to go!
Cons
Inability to set up a variable-priced item. To do this, the item must be rung in as a "Quick Sale", so there is no identification of sold products or inventory tracking.

Shopify POS Review
you have to take a close look at the price/performance ratio. The trial version is not bad for SMEs.
Pros
I can create my own gift cards for my online stores.
Cons
There's no free version and the advanced features are a bit expensive for my budget.
