Easy to use Inventory Management & Purchase Order modules

Pros

What I like most about SAP Business One is the customer support and training before certain modules are activated.

Cons

What I like least about SAP Business One is the logging in process. Sometimes it can be cumbersome and not easy to log in.

REVIEW OF SAP-BUSINESS-ALL-IN-ONE by Ehinmero Phillip

The training is very useful as it gives more edge over other ERP. If you can work with any SAP products, other ERP Software will not difficult to understand and navigate.

Pros

1. It allows for future expansion of different organisation's operations as more features can be deployed to improve operational efficiency.
2. It guides users to make use of best general accounting accepted principles while performing their functions.
3. It reduce time in executing jobs and increases efficiency in project execution.
4. it is very user-friendly if well understood with in-depth training.
5. It synchronise seamlessly with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Cons

1. It make use of specialised alphanumeric figures there making it very difficult to set-up by users of other ERP softwares.
2. It is not cost efficient for companies of unstable financial status.
3. Its installation is difficult for non-IT expert as it obeys the OSI layers: Application, Database and Network.
4. The distribution per use is not really flexible compared to other ERP Software.

Does what it needs

Pros

I use SAP for equipment control more than the business aspect. From my use of it so far, it gets the job done. Most of our users find it very comprehensive, with all fields displayed within multiple tabs. The system is pretty quick from our experience.

Cons

Some improvements on being more user-friendly would be appreciated. It would be my hope for SAP to have less transactions.

New ERP in place

Pros

Before having a real ERP we were using google for pretty much everything. It is so good to finally have everything in the same page especially for inventory - inbound and outbound etc.

Cons

As we were used to work on google before it is been a little challenging to clean all the data before we were able to transfer them to the ERP system. Also here we do not see who changes what so we had to put in place restrictions per department.

Does the job but not easily

we are able to connect all of our systems together

Pros

I like that it is very technical in recording the day to day movements of the business. It makesit easy to print things for the customer.

Cons

The process is confusing as hell, and even people who have been using the product for years still struggle with understanding its methodology.

Strength & Weaknesses

SAP business one is good for a mid size business. However, in my opinion, still strengths of the product has not been properly transferred to customers.

Pros

Relationship Map provides a great trace-ability of a document. not limited to that, since each transaction has a link to other, transaction auditing is very easy.

Cons

Project Management Module does not gives a value to the business. It can handle only an activity list. Cannot maintain a Project stage wise BOQ & stage wise billing.

A good ERP system that works perfectly for medium and small enterprises

A good and compact ERP for most businesses and can be easily set up, and deployed.

Pros

The user interface is simple and easy and doesn't involve complex steps. Easier to explain and train resources on it.

Cons

Integration with the HANA database causes further dependency on external partners.

SAP for purchasing

Pros

Has my options and can be set up for any business. There are also templates to save you time on things you do often.

Cons

Learning to use it was not simple and pulling up data is not straight forward. There are a bunch of codes you have to save for basic orders or searchers.

A full business system from the ground up

Pros

Business One is an excellent offering to small and medium-sized businesses. Yes, you have to learn how to use it, but once you have the basics, the system runs itself because it is fully integrated. Finance, VAT reporting, Sales, Stock Management & Purchasing (and many more areas) are fully active out of the box. I know this system will cope with our demands for years if not decades to come!

Cons

Visibility of everything in the business is perfect for any business owner or management team. 1 Dash 1 and SAP provide excellent support and training.

Makes things harder than they need to be

Pros

SAP does have a decent amount of functionality. Reports are extremely detailed with the ability to drill down to many levels of each transaction.

Cons

Not very user-friendly at all. Can be difficult to navigate and create custom reports. The interface just looks very outdated and did not live up to our expectations.

Great service at best!

Pros

Extensive customization available. Underlying SAP HANA database allows for complex business analytics. Microsoft SQL Server also available. Includes Crystal Reports for custom reporting. Can handle multiple currencies. Benefits administration module. Excellent documentation.

Cons

From previous versions, the Software Development Kit (SDK) has had some errors that are still not fixed in the newest versions of the product. You can not affect the database directly trough SQL queries, so if you want to develop new functions inside the app, you have to use the SDK that includes method for each object in the system.

15 years experience with this in two manufacturing companies

Pros

So widely deployed you can google it in even some of the more detailed areas.

Cons

Sap just stopped innovating. All their attempts just seem to be more superficial or just infrastructure (e.g. Net weaver or Hana)
I suspect their installed base tied their hands to make any real changes but they have only now made a marginal effort for S4.
